Talshin had retreated back into the shadows of the ship, continuing his watch over the others and the environment around them. He had heard Astarielle and Yareli speaking about one's culture, the songs to be specific, before Yareli pulled an instrument from her robes. Strangely enough, music was something that Talshin heard very rarely and could not even recall the last time he had heard some. 'I am losing touch with everything,' he thought to himself as they continued to speak. Soon enough, Yareli began to play a tune that Talshin had never heard before. The tune seem to have a type of personal meaning to Yareli, which was clear from her reactions as she played. The tune was soothing enough to even make Talshin relax enough to emerge from the shadows and walk closer. To Talshin it felt strange to be moved by mere notes, but here he was being forced to remember things simply by hearing these notes in the wind. It was something he made a note of and continued to listen until she finished, causing him to snap back to reality and to a more normal mindset. However, it did causing him to at least acknowledge the beauty of the song to Yareli (@Uriel1339 ), "That song was...moving. Strange." The words felt strange coming out of his mouth, but he felt they needed to be said.
@Wata Yareli smiled at the Dire Avenger and inclined her head to acknowledge his apology. She did not intervene in his actions. He was much calmer and that is all that she needed to know - that she had moved him in a positive way. In her mind anyway since it was simply not fair for a Warrior like Alo to be constantly troubled with the thought of killing. @matt23 "I am glad it did not fall upon deaf ears." Yareli said smiling still and having recovered a bit already from the apparent positive reaction of her song. It was heartening to see that she could share a piece of her history with those around her, intertwining their paths and lives. She couldn't help but wrap her arms around herself as if the robes were a blanket, feeling herself much like a child, an intended effect of the song, but also an echo from her childhood.
@Uriel1339 & @matt23 | Astarielle listened to Yareli's tune, appreciating the melody while she considered the other woman's words. Mymeara sounded frozen in most ways, consumed by both climate and its past, but she still matched Yareli's smile, being sincere in her words. "Thank you for that." Yareli's performance had bought several of the group over, each one touched by the music in their own way, and Astarielle watched Talshin as the Scorpion made his appearance. "I wondered where you'd gone."
Talshin looked to Astarielle and responded, "I have been watching, and learning. Unknown planets bare unknown outcomes. Which is why I have not stopped my watch shift."
Avrielle listened to the tension around her, picking up on the body language of her friends and the other Eldar present. As she ate, sitting back and taking a portion of the cooked meat for herself once everyone else had chosen (though she divided them very fairly), she did not feel settled, and it showed. But once Yareli started to play, she felt the tense nature of the improvised campsite fade away. The tune was a simple one, from a simpler time, and it brought her a sense of memories - of being at ease, at home, safe from the concerns of the world. Avrielle smiled, watching the others relax with contentment. The stiffness disappeared from her shoulders and she let her head drop forward slightly, breathing out. "Thank you, Yarelka," she said, quietly. "That was beautiful." Impulsively, she embraced her friend, giving her a quick squeeze of affection. On the other side of the fire, Lysandriax watched the change in the others with a carefully neutral expression. But the observant would see, as she glanced away to the right, that the tall warrior was smiling. Faintly, and when she turned back the expression was gone, but still her manner softened a little. "You play as once Lileath played," was all she said, nodding her head in acknowledgement. "Well, if you are watching now, I will rest," she added, turning to Astarielle and Talshin- or at least, the direction of Talshin. She stood up, and walked over to the Chance. To anyone that would go into the small shuttlecraft for their sleep, it was easy to see that there were four beds - the Chance of Cegorach was not a long-range craft, just a small shuttle for ship to shore contact or the occasional pleasure jaunt - but that between the seats and floor space enough room could be found for everyone to at least sleep out of the rain. The tiny cargo bay to the rear had been claimed by Morvan for his meditations, and was guarded (fiercely!) by his small white gyrinx companion. The Seer was in a light trance, capable of conversation but involved in his work, communing with the Arcadia and Void Dreamer Reevia. His manner was stern, and did not encourage interruption, but it looked as if that would be possible. Lysandriax, being an Eldar of good sense, chose not to do so and merely closed the door once more before she vaulted into one of the top two bunks. "Goodnight, little white hunter. May lost Kurnous bless your endeavours." Avrielle looked around the encampment. "So, are we resting for the rest of the evening and going on tomorrow? If so then I will retire, but please wake me for a watch. I want to take my turn," she insisted.
Alo, who had been voyaging deep into his soul this day, caught sight of the edge of his swirling cloak. The elegant design already bore runes that he was familiar with. Some of the script, however, was new. ~ shed blood for his kin ~
Finally the edge seemed to dull in the air. Faenkon was relieved even if there was still a slight roughness to it all, he knew it would fade with time. "Well I'm going to scout around the area before retiring myself. I will be back shortly." With that said himself and the drone disappeared into the surround flora.
@Jorimel Yareli got a bit of air knocked out of her chest from the sudden squeeze but smiled widely and sincerely, wrapping her arms around her friend as well. "I never played in front of anyone but my teacher... So I appreciate the feedback and that I could aid in relaxation. As for your watch. I will wake you for the second watch once I retire to rest myself." The Noblewoman winked at her friend. When Lysandriax gave her a compliment. A quick nod was responded accompanied by a blush. She was used to get praise about her looks, not her skills. But it made her feel warm inside, truly appreciated. @kanila "Don't stray too far, Faenkon!" The diplomat yelled after him, tilting her head of what he might be up to. Surely there was a small restroom on the shuttle? He must be actually scouting perhaps. The woman shrugged to herself, took a deep breath and relaxed, letting her shoulders fall a bit. @Avenging-Angel & @matt23 "I suppose the three of us keep first watch. I suggest for the second watch that Faenkon, Alo and Avrielle should be out here. Though I cannot really imagine what would attack us here." Wondering her head went over to the lake, expecting some sort of serpent to jump out.
Alo stopped in his tracks when he realized his cape had changed. He walked to the light of the campfire, knelt and grabbed his cape. He stared at the new runes a moment, with a still expression. If his eyes met others he did not register them but looked past them as if they weren't there. Releasing his cape it flashed while settling behind his back as the golden runes met with light. "If you want me for watch, wake me." Then he stood up and went inside the ship to attempt sleep. If there were no beds available he would sleep on the floor against the wall.
@Uriel1339 & @Wata | "It is possible that the exodites, if there are any, saw our descent. Or perhaps they have learnt through their world spirit that we're here." Astarielle watched Faenkon disappear, trusting that the Ranger would return if he encountered problems, and glanced over at Alo as the Dire Avenger neared the fire, deciding to try Yareli's suggestion for who should be the next watch-team. "Very well. We'll wake you when it's your turn to keep watch."
