I'm going to have to remember that. It's kind of a new way to look at the primarchs and how they're still very human.

I'm a Raven Guard person but I do my best to at least teach people about Ultramarines when needed. I use a lot of the joke names for them but I aim that at what the chapter has become on the outside. I generally feel sorry for Ultramarine fans because their chapter has been hijacked by ridiculous writers. The chapter has just as many redeeming qualities as any other chapter but those get covered up a lot.

French hobbyist here, excuse the possible mistakes if you found some.

I like the Ultramarines a lot as they were my first army when I discover GW and their universes. The Space Marines were very appealing to me as a kid and at first, the Ultramarines were my choice of a chapter because they had a very strong, eye-cacthing color armour, and that Space Marines are kinda badasses.

Even after some years, I still like them as I did as a kid, and then I have problems to understand why some people hate them. I mean, it's kinda silly in my opinion to hate a fictional army in a fictional universe, but again, i'm totally subjective and I mean to offend noone by saying that.

What I think is wrong is not about the hate, everybody has his/her own opinion on things, and if you don't like Ultramarines, so be it, but the problem is when people tend to associate the rage about Ultramarines with the Ultramrines players to the point of insulting KIDS(true story sadly) who discovered W40k and start doing Ultramarines because they liked it.

To resume my thoughts about the Ultrasmurfs hate : hate the Chapter, love the player. :)

When I first saw their banner with simple word "Ultra", immediatelly a saying came to my mind "Difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra". Been fan ever since :)
I also love blue color and the omega sign.

I'm with a lot of the people here in what they say about the chapters morals and such. My favorite is the Salamanders, if you couldn't tell by my avatar, but I've been a big Ultra fan since '05.

Simply because my introduction to the 40K Universe was playing the demo for Space Marine on Xbox. Ever since then, even after spending DAYS playing Dawn of War 1 and 2 and spending so much time with the Blood Ravens, I still identify as an Ultramarine because they were the first thing I ever saw of the 40K Universe.
  9. I've been playing the tabletop game since I was 10 years old, Ultramarines honestly should have drawn me in, blue being my favourite colour. However, it's the fans that get you.

Ultramarines and Black Templars are both armies I should like but I leave every tournament I've ever attended hating them, the players and fans of both armies are some of the worst people I've had the displeasure of meeting, they're so arrogant and act so superior to everyone else even when you're completely destroying them (No offense to said fans on here I'm sure you're great people and I just haven't met you yet.).

Space Wolf fans are the opposite, they treat you like a brother, I rock up to a Tourney on my own with my Space Puppies and suddenly I've got a whole group of new best friends willing to shout me a drink.
