Time to Kill in Eternal Crusade - Nothing short of infuriating

Even 3 whole seconds is actually pretty long when you break it down into bullets. At 240 RPM (which is what I usually see quoted for a bolter) that's 12 bullets. From a "does my gun still feel lethal?" perspective, that also would make an EC bolter weaker than a TT lasgun (statistically, a lasgun kills a TT marine in an average of 9 hits).

Which TTK are you referring too, because the plasma cannon kills with a direct hit instantly, the Powerfist 1 shots with a heavy attack immediately going to ragdoll. The Bolt Pistol (Smart) Kills with two clips and the bolter takes quite a few shots to the head before it downs someone. And to which class(es) are you wanting to boost the TTK? MoN seems like a useful accessory to boost specific weapons ttk which I think performs its duty. There will be accessories that perform a similar duty in the future for all factions, so whom would you like to buff?

I admire your passion to see that this game represents your specific vision of excellency and I think you are justified in saying TTK is short in very limited regards, however I'm sure you realize that having such an absurdly long Time to Kill across all weapons would be downright implausible if not game breaking.

I must respectfully agree to disagree.

  3. If we can tweak MoN 5 durability no less than the 4 or 5 different time the MoN has been tweaked, we can increase all classes durability across the board without breaking Alpha. The fact that we haven't seen one single across the board buff to durability(for testing purposes) for all classes is worrisome in my book.

TTK is too fast. Our game is infinitely more enjoyable when playing as a MoN just because you have time to simply react to various situations, situations where you simply drop dead on other classes without knowing what the !@#$ is even happening to your character because of your crappy survival stats.

While I"m by no means suggesting all classes should have the durability of the MoN, I'd like to see durability stats on all builds that allow me to simply react to what's going on around me. Getting killed in the time span of half a heart beat, 50 times a gaming session, because you simply have no idea whats evening happening, because you die so damned fast IS...NOT...FUN.

We need a big banner at the top of the General section "How many days since the last TTK thread".

  5. Time to kill for infantry is generally ok, could be a tiny bit longer, enough to let you react, but not much.

Time to kill for vehicles on the other hand is ludicrous. When every player and their dog can equip plasma cannons they last seconds.

I'm really hoping the devs bring in something soon to limit the amount of heavy weapons that can be deployed in a single map. (Don't worry, I know they won't do that but I really wish something could be done to make weapon loadouts more lore/TT friendly)

Imposing some measure of order in the amount of classes would go a long way in making the matches more fair, perhaps some much more lore friendly game-mode just to hold us over where one leader desides the class for each squad member.

  7. I don't need to look into the future to be able to tell that people would hate it if they were prevented from playing the class they want to play by arbitrary restrictions. I think you'd be very lonely in such a game mode. I don't want someone else deciding the class I play, good luck finding enough people that do(and not be the ones deciding) to host a game with.
  8. I like that idea, something needs to be done, some TT style mode where the numbers of certain classes are mandated, like the bulk should be tacticals for example. Would definitely make it more fair rather than forcing one side to assault a fortress into the face of 10 plasma cannons camping on the wall :)
  9. You are right it would be unpopular but surely you've got to agree that being able to spam an unlimited number of any weapon will not make for a fun game? Maybe have map limits so the first players to spawn that weapon use it but then others need to choose something else?
  10. It really doesn't.

    "Hey you, you're playing Sorcerer."
"But I don't like playing Sorcerer, I'm not good at melee and they're too weak at range."
"Too bad the team needs another Sorcerer, and that's the only slot remaining."
    "Fine, then I quit."

I don't doubt this scenario would play out often.
