Time To Get Started On "counseling"

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Warsmith_Matt, Oct 28, 2013.

  1. WTF ever dude.. don't bring a chipped shoulder in here. Flame me because I made a statement... I wasn't being a braggart or trying to say anything "elitist" or even saying that my background means anything here.. I was merely explaining my pragmatism. I wasn't being rude either.. it's all the context of what level you want to interpret things in a forum. People read between the lines and get butthurt for no reason because they are getting offended by their own interpretation rather that was is actually being conveyed. I am blunt... but that doesn't mean rude. You should be the last one to come in here with that attitude Marine.

Maybe I'll send you my DD214.. and your own elitist know-it-all mentality might just fade away.
  2. People that get the job done and aren't utterly terrible at it. Basically anyone who can pull their own weight.

But what job needs to be done and who would be the best choice for it? Some council member who does the resource management all day might not be the best choice for operation kill warboss 420bl4zit024.

Very eloquent response, I am sure your DD 214 impresses you, me not so much. Such a pity.
  5. Keep it friendly, guys. Let's get back to the discussion at hand.
Brother Bloko and The Great Wolf like this.
  6. Obviously it would encompass all aspects of gameplay, though again someone who doesn't actually PvP shouldn't really have a say in the running of PvP operations and strategy. I'd prefer to see councils set up to support each Chapter's functions.

  7. I do,

I served in 3 Project Reality clans all realism based. Planning squad objectives, strengths, map details, tactics, strategy etc. that were based around 32 v 32 combat until the later released 112 v 113 which was much harder to control and depended more on squad leaders.

Managing and Training clan members on a weekly basis, working alongside real world soldiers who decided to teach what they knew to us so we could implement it in game. We had a rank system based off the amount of time spent in armed forces (this was cross referenced to eliminate frauds)

anyway just saying, some of us do :p
Its a nice example of Gamers mingling with Soldiers

  8. While I admire the enthusiasm, I can't help but think that you're the only one on the inside of your own perspective. Leadership in this environment requires a little trust and reputation that is seen. Many of us are not involved in your organizations and are involved in our own. It's going to be one of those situations where we wont know who needs to follow who until some battles are fought.

Getting to know people already two years pre release is how you start the foundations of your group if you are looking to create a new one.

There are multiple pre existing chapters and chaos warbands in here as well as various PC mmo guilds.

Being in a chapter as at most 50% to do with the gaming, the rest being social, and please the real world military stuff? Been there, done that and has very little real influence or place in a community like this, as you can never enforce commands in the same way, nor recreate a military environment, at most you can apply basic tactics and people management.

If you feel it is too early to join a group, fine then don't join a group yet. We have several new members joined already within the first week and three existing chapters have merged into one, what will we be doing for the next two years? Forming bonds, making friendships and finding out who gels together and who needs distance between them, and anyone truly serving or has served at any level of military will know this is the key, you can have the biggest, toughest, bunch of badasses going, but if they don't have each others backs, they will be beat any day of the week and twice on sundays, by a team that do.

Getting really tired seeing flaming done concerning people wanting to set up networks within a certain area already, what the fuck did you expect to happen on a forum like this? Hell they even created a special area for it showing the designers get it. So please tone it down, if you want to fly solo for a while respect those that do not and vice versa respect those that wish to wait.

Now, what was the question again ? ;)

  10. I'm not flaming anyone or the idea of forming groups. I have friends doing it as we speak. My group, The Souls Drinkers from the PS3 SMCA haven't mobilized yet are aren't planning to until we see the lay of the land.

All I'm saying is that it is pointless to start divvying out positions in the war councils when a lot of us haven't played together. I'm all for starting alliances and talking and bonding. Just not assigning positions of leadership other than admin roles for preparation. I hope that makes more sense.
