Lord Fang and his second in command, Mallar, walked through the wide hallway pounding on doors as they passed.
    "READY UP!" Fang yelled.

"YOU HEARD HIM LET'S GO!" Mallar echoed as he closely followed Lord Fang.

Fang approached the door of a possible new recruit by the name of 'Steelfang' Fang opened the door.
"Steelfang, you have been chosen to be apart of Mallar's Strike Force, you are to follow his orders until I arrive on Lorias, understood?" Without letting Steelfang answer Fang simply answered for him "Good, be ready within the hour"

As Lord Fang and Mallar started off through the hallway again Mallar spoke.
"My Lord are you sure we can trust that one? He is not of our Legion and we are not even sure if he is going to join us?" Fang simply replied "At ease brother, I am not without my suspicion as well but alas he is a promising warrior, and we shall give him the chance to prove this. Ready your strike force Mallar, you are to accompany our allies when the time is right"
With that Lord Fang drifted away from Mallar and left him alone in the wide hallway, after watching his Lord turn around one of the corners of the base Mallar began pounding on doors again "Come on let's get going! We have a world to BURN!"

OOC: Would just like to mention this is one of my first times Forum RPing so if I do anything wrong (or have any grammar mistakes which I'm pretty sure I've already nailed :p) then let me know :).

OOC: The only thing I hate is you kicked my Tau post out of the order lol (last post, page 4 please read up everyone make always sure to read up on all you have missed!) Other than that others can take an example from you regards the colors for dialogue, makes it easier to identify which character is talking. Grammar mistakes are ugly but not devastating, just make sure of spelling that's more important :) also please let the bold stuff out except for example someone is yelling, then to make it bold probably. Other than that it's kinda irritating (e.g. "Fang simply replied") rather make a paragraph / enter thing in there to separate like it is done usually in books or articles another nice tool would be indent. Other than that, great first post!

OOC: My bad, and for the record I read the posts, the last one with the Orca screen shots said "Imperial/Chaos/Eldar turn so figured I could post but my mistake. And yeah I couldn't Un bold those bolded spots for some reason, when I tried to edit they weren't in Bold but yet there they are >:/, I'll try to keep an eye on that for future posts again my mistake.

    HDMS Magnificent – Command Bridge
High Orbit of the Planet Lorias – 19:00 Hrs

“Brace for impact!” bellowed the Tactical Officer.

The bridge crew of the Magnificent threw themselves into their seats or clutched to the nearest piece of the ship that was bolted in place.

The warning still came too late. As the glaring blue ribbons of ionic death contacted the armoured prow of the warship, her crew were tossed about like rag dolls. Here and there, an electrical panel shorted out from the energy backwash, showering men with hot sparks. Consoles exploded, frying their operators to a crisp.

Captain Klaudius Mannhiem braced himself at his command pulpit. His eyes fixed on the tactical hololith the dominated the bridge before him. His ship rocked to and fro, but he was a bulwark. He was unmoved and unphased, by this surprise attack. The Magnificent was an Overlord-Class Battlecruiser. She outweighed her attackers significantly.

She was better armed and armoured then those ugly, blocky, Xeno infested, Tau abominations that sought to put her down.

Old Maggy had survived far worse than this.

    ‘Battle stations!’, He roared.

Angry klaxons blared over the din of battle. Red lights flashed in time. Crewmen picked themselves up off the floor and ran to their stations.

“Shields, damn you Tactical. Give me my shields. Then give me my Lance Batteries! Full Charge”, Klaudius ordered above the din. Lord Van Vorst would be so very disappointed that he was going to miss this.

Tactical replied, as the mighty void shields flickered into life, and with their emergence, the violent shaking subsided.

    “Lance Batteries charging!” Tactical reported.

“Good. Damage report! Now” Klaudius beckoned.

“The prow took the brunt of the assault. No hull breeches, but we’ve lost torpedo tube four” an Officer shouted back.

“Good the Emperor favours us this day!” Klaudius exclaimed. “Comms Petty Officer, give me a Battlegroup wide channel”

“Aye Sir” he called back. “Channel open to all ships”

“Officers and Men of Battlegroup Sternguard! The Xeno menace has come to lay siege to the Emperor’s Holy domain. Do not let Him find you wanting! Let the filth come. Give them a taste of our firepower. Suffer not the Xeno to live! Magnificent out!”

“Lance Batteries primed, Captain. Torpedoes loaded. Port and Starboard broadside batteries charged. Awaiting firing solutions” Tactical reported.

“Good. Fire Control; target the lead ship in their formation. Full torpedo spread; let us see those blue skinned freaks dance to our tune.” He ordered.

“Tactical, order Adamant Resolve, and Argent Wrath, to take up position to our starboard beam and engage the target. Have the Eternal Vigilance come up on our port side and do the same. Let us draw the enemy into range of the Star Forts.”

With the Forts forming the outer points of the Imperial line of defense, the Tau had no choice to attack them head on, or risk losing their momentum. With that in mind, the Endeavor-Class escorts Undaunted Will and the Praetorius Exemplar; waited in ambush, to the rear of the Star Forts.

The Tau wouldn’t stand a chance. Their ships, while powerful, were cumbersome to maneuver, and would be easy prey to his faster escorts and squadrons of interceptors and bombers.

    Which reminded him. . .

“Tactical, what is the status of my interceptors and bombers?” He inquired.

“Captain, four squadrons are ready for immediate deployment and ten more will be ready in two minutes” was the reply.

“Good. Hold them back for now. We need to have the Tau close in first”

Klaudius returned his attention to the tactical hololith. His ships moved into position as ordered. Prows lined up like a firing squad before a condemned man. Lances charged. Torpedoes loaded.

    “All units, Fire!” he bellowed.

As one, the ships of Battle Group Sternguard let loose the Imperial Navy’s wrath. The starbursts of mighty lance batteries spat their plasma charged death into the ships of the foe, followed by waves of warhead primed torpedoes. Their machine spirits raging to bring swift death to the unholy abominations that were the Tau vessels.

    Basilica of the Emperor Ascendant
Koroa City – Holy Synod of the Emperor’s Light – 18:10Hrs Local Time

As the winds and rainy deluge hammered the city below, the denizens of the mighty Basilica carried on without a care. The palatial splendor on the Basilica’s interior was without equal in the entire system.

Magnificent frescoes and statuary covered every wall, ceiling and archway. The sprawling galleries were filled with splendid songs of the thousands strong choirs. Smiling Cherubs flitted back and forth through the air on gilded wings, trailing holy incense.

Evening mass was just beginning and the Emperor’s faithful streamed inside. Their enthusiasm was twofold. Firstly, the welcome shelter from the storms outside. Secondly, to hear the Emperor’s gospel. White robed acolytes lined the entrance routes, all the way from the massive doors of the Cathedral proper, to the threshold of the wide chamber lined with thousands of, cushioned, marble pews. They offered up collection plates for donations, which filled quickly.

The servants of the Adeptus Terra and nobles of the local aristocracy were permitted to sit in the pews that lined the ground floor. The poor and middle-class were herded into the upper galleries. Not that they cared. The acoustics were so splendid, that every word spoken by the Arch-Deacons (no matter how soft) could be heard by all in attendance.

One such attendee, his face hidden by his cowl, robed in the tan cloth of an Administratum Prefect, passed through the long queue without incident. His blacked gloved hand dropped a heavy sack of high denomination Thrones into a waiting offering plate, and patted the young acolytes head.

“Thank you, Emperor bless you Ser” the boy said happily”

“May he bless you as well, child” the man said in turn, as he walked on. Had the child bothered to look up beneath the man’s hood, he would have been terrified by the impenetrable blackness that lurked there.

The shadow so enjoyed these games. Everything was going as planned. The smooth clockwork of his master’s machinations clicked endless onward. The next phase of his plan would begin soon. Yes, the first sign would soon be re . . .

He did not get to finish that thought as soul rending agony washed through him. This was not physical pain, for he could no longer be harmed by mere mortal weapon. No this pain lashed out at his very essence.

A violent tremor rippled through the warp. A powerful, uncontrolled spell had just been cast. The pain caused his disguise to waiver for a moment, revealing his true shadowy coalescence for the briefest of seconds. He threw himself into a nearby alcove, into its welcoming solitude.

Away from the prying eyes of the masses, he focused his considerable physic potential into reasserting his disguise. It re-solidified instantly. He growled to himself.

Those fools! What had they done?

Too Soon. Too soon!” he rasped. The pieces were not yet in place. Had he not instructed to wait until his command? Insolent retches. That reverberation would be felt by all on this world with even the slightest, even latent, psychic potential.

Most certainly the Astropaths would feel it. Even more so the Inquisition! The Imperium would be forewarned! At least until now, the Inquisition grasped at straws, unable to find the needle of truth in the preverbal haystack of lies. This one act could cast all of the Master’s carefully laid plans to ruin. The Master would be most displeased.

More so, he was not ready to escalate his own plans. He had not anticipated this . . . contingency. The cultists here in Koroa did not have the skill to carry out such a conjuration on their own. Another hand was a work. That or the fools had stumbled upon the correct configuration purely by chance.

The reverberation led the shadow to believe the latter, over the former. Yes, another agent of the Dark Gods sought to work against him. One of his master’s rivals? An ambitious pawn of the Master’s warband? It was unclear at this point.

The Master was a terrible Lord of Chaos, a champion of the Horus Heresy. His rivals were fierce and many. He had so carefully orchestrated a precarious alliance of other warbands for this undertaking. The slightest misstep so early in the game, would spell disaster.

Another reverberation wracked through the shadow. However, this one was . . . different. It was not a tidal wave of uncontrolled energies. No this was akin to the ringing of fine crystal glasses, when tapped by a fork before a dinner toast. It was a melody of passion and deft skill.

It heralded only one thing. The entrance of the reviled children of Khaine! Eldar scum. Ah, but not simply any Eldar, no. A mighty Seer led them. Only a handful, but still more than enough. He growled in exasperation.

He reached out into the warp and drew upon its power to blank out his warp presence. He could not be discovered. Not now. He needed time to plan, to prepare. He cast off his disguise and blanketed himself with shadow once more.

His ethereal form slipped into the shadows cast over the corners of the refectory. The candles flickering out at his passing, as if snuffed out by a chill wind. He would wait. Bide his time. Let the fools slaughter one another.

By his hand or another, Lorias would burn! It was inevitable.

  8. Steelfang smiled finally some action mag locking his combi-melta to his thigh he quickly moved to the staging area he felt very much the odd one his shimmering iron grey and silver armor stood in stark contrast to the red armor of the blood legion it didn't help that he towered over most of them either but he was still all to happy to actually do something. *Mallar glared at him I don't like you Steelfang were it not for my master's orders you wouldn't even be here. *Steelfang chuckled a little much to the annoyance of Mallar like wise you blood drunk fool but make no mistake if you test my paitence no god be it the corpse on the throne or your dark gods will protect you from me*

Lydia was staring out if the high up window of the fabricator Marshall's office. It was still raining. She saw a lot of people hurrying below. She wondered how many people were suffering from this rain. It was very hard now.

"Fleet Commander, they are not moving, they want to make us come! We also detected their shields went online!"

One of the subordinates on the radars yelled as he saw the battle formation of the Imperium changing on his rader.

    "Lance fire detected, Torpedos launched!"

Another crew member yelled up and in that moment the Imperial Lances hit mainly the Lar'Shi'Vre.

"We will not play by their rules..... Evade the Lance cannons, move further forwards but keep us out of the Star Fortresses! Concentrated fire of all weapon platforms from all ships against the Overlord Class! Aim at the bridge, as soon as the shields are down take the energy from our engines and put them into the Ion Cannons and Railguns! Fire a whole barrage of our Gravitic Launchers from all ships. Their chain of command has to be broken!"

The Fleet commander replied as the Tau fleet started to move in an evasive maneuver, avoiding the Lance cannons as good as possible while keeping minimal distance off the Star Fortresses to stay in safety.

In the meanwhile the Escort Ship, the Il'Porrui class along with the Orcas headed straight for the clouds, in a few minutes they would have reached them as the scans went more accurate on Anti-Air and other battle stations, all weapons started to fire, no single salvo went towards any other target than possible anti-air stations.

"Planetfall should be successful in around 3 minutes for Shas'Vre Ja'Ra troops and around 5 minutes for Shas'O Doran'Ros troops."

"Damages are minimal, evasive maneuvers were succesful, within the fleet all systems working on 100% except for the Lar'Shi'Vre as we took the most damage, no hull breach but we our shields need a bit time till they are on full efficiency again."

Two other crew members reported upon the command of the Fleet Commander.

"Good, the efficiency of their weapon lacks due to our evasive maneuvers. Get the Mantas and Barracudas ready to fight, divert the enemy force by sending 2 Mantas after the Il'Porrui Cruiser, give them backup! Make it look like we have someone important to get down to Lorias. The other ships should give us cover once their fighters and bombers started, keep them close to us! Focus all weapons on their capital ship, the Overlord-class. If the chain of command breaks so will their force!"

The fleet commander, Kor'O emphasized, radiating no sign of fear, tension or other emotion and that is what made him so excellent in his position. Despite fighting for the greater good he was an air caste member who calculated every single plan, formation, weapons and positions, and since he knew what they were going to expect he had it all planned out.... He could practically see the firing zones of their enemies and their own ships and once the Imperial Overlord Class would be gone.... They would be in the upper hand.

"As soon as the Overlord's shields go down, 50% Ion Cannon and Railguns overcharge, aim for the bridge, take the energy from the engines, if needed even from our side shields!"

OOC: Well since we are kinda waiting for Zeb to make his Confessor post I would like that everything that goes on regards the Imperium & Inquisition is on halt for now (includes space fight), the chaos and eldar can proceed. If he shouldn't post by tomorrow then Alu Mordicus can fill in for Zeb and his confessor.

EDIT: Changed my post after a discussion regards space ships & the battlefleet gothic rulework Mechaius and I looked over.
