    Lorias Overview:

    1. The World:
Lorias’ temperatures are similar to Terra's. The spring is rather cool to warm, with a few rainy weeks. The summer is pretty hot, making it exhausting to work in the mines, factories and the fields. The autumn is similar to the spring. And in the winter it snows and gets very cold, sometimes avalanches from the mountains bring damage or delay transports close to the space port city, Koroa.

    1.1 Cities:
    1.1.1 Capital:
Lorias City is heavily protected by 4 walls, the 4th wall (outside) being the biggest and constantly patrolled by the PDF. Directly behind this wall are mostly military buildings as the PDF has to be constantly ready to move out in case of war. In other words many Garages, Barracks and Armories are located here. The 3rd wall (2nd from outside) has several outpost towers where scouts and snipers reside and make sure no enemy comes close unspotted. Directly behind this wall there are the cheapest residences and most of the people living here are the poor and many homeless who find shelter in the alleys and some others in the chapels. The 2nd wall (3rd from outside) is being wide constructed to provide space for artillery cannons and anti-air weapons. Directly behind it are more expensive residences in Lorias City. The 1st wall and inner wall (4th from outside) is the last defense before entering the main administration buildings and the Governor’s Palace, besides these buildings are the most expensive residences of the rich people of Lorias, due to the high security, most of the people residing here are the owners of the factories, mines or are major trade partners with Lorias. Worth mentioning is that each city is approximately 50-75 miles distanced from Lorias City in their direction.

    1.1.2 Dretia
In the North, close and partly on mountains are the mining facilities and the districts of the industry city "Dretia" it is heavy accessible for major forces because of heavy terrain and uneven streets, though there is a cargo lift from the main mines at the top which transfer the mined goods to the bottom where they are transferred into trucks to transport them to the other cities, alternatively they can be loaded directly on cargo trains. Aerial Drops into the city is as good as impossible because of all the steam from the facilities so there is no good view from above, also it would be too dangerous to directly drop into the mining facilities or probably even cause heavy erosions or other major catastrophes to the city and the deployed troops by the drop-pod.

    1.1.3 Ora
In the west, in a less hilly but not exactly flat area there had been built a city major for the use of Manufacturing and to provide cheap space for population, the most of the planets workers reside here, also a big part of the miners from Dretia. Military Products as well Civilian Products are produced here. The cheap price for residences result in the daily production fumes that have to be endured here, but it is still better than those which have to survive in the industrial districts of Dretia day by day, this holds the corruption in Ora down, also the work is good and reasonable. The Fabricator Marshal made sure to please the Workers with fair compensations, working times, breaks and so on. This even improved the production quality and output by 50% over the last three years.

    1.1.4 Koroa
In the East, a strong protected City was built, first there was only the space port, but then it grew as more merchants from surrounding planets started to settle down there due to better Taxes and cheaper residences than most other Imperial Worlds around. Therefore Koroa became a City of cultural mixes as Men of the Imperium from different worlds settled down there, this led to riots here and there also to suspicions of Tyranid Genestealer Cults, since the attack on Tarsis Ultra; a nearby world that fell victim to the Hive Fleet Leviathan. Koroa is disliked by the residents of Dretia and Limar, due to their relaxed life behavior and the fear that some of the residents could be chaos cultists, Tyranid infested or even Xenos that bribe the local forces to further live there. But nonetheless Koroa is important for the whole economy because of the Space Port, also the most communication towers are constructed around Koroa.

    1.1.5 Limar
In the south, the big wide areas of Lorias offer the perfect spot for the Agriculture, required to produce enough food for all residents and even enough to export almost a tenth of it and still having enough in storage for the winter times. So naturally a city built up as the fields grew and grew along with the amount of Men on Lorias. The settlers of Limar are very proud of their city and would never abandon it in case of an attack. Also the most troops from the Planetary Defense Forces come from Limar, they are very well disciplined and do everything for their homeworld, it is also important to say that the Main PDF Bastion is located here, known as “Bastion Ultramar”, Colonel Hector Galven, leader of the PDF resides here also.

    1.2. Train Network
Lorias' cities are all connected through a train network. This makes it possible for people from all cities to work and live in other cities and enables a fast transport of vehicles and troops of the PDF in case of war. The train networks' rails are fortified with automatic sentries, also PDF troops regularly patrol the railways. There are also different protocols in case of war to abandon or quickly fortify the railways. This includes armored transports for troop deployment, tank transportation protocols and other special formations developed by the Governor and his loyal Colonel.

    2. Planetary Status
    2.1 Economy
The economy of Lorias is very stable through the many ores that are mined and refined in Dretia, therefore the planet is well in wealth. This also was a huge accomplishment from the planetary governor who is a Fabricator Marshal. The people of Limar though would prefer a miltary leader. He on the other hand transformed the world into a wealthy one through making life more affordable for the workers and making more efficient policies regarding their workload. This in the end satisfied the workers so far that they started to work harder and more efficient in respect to the Governor and their world as they started to feel to be the true core of Lorias and the Governor was not shy to let them know. On some days he even decides to go back in his old job and help out in the factories among the regular workers.

    2.2 Politics
Lorias City, Dretia and Ora appreciate the Fabricator Marshal and support him completely. Limar and Koroa on the other hand would prefer military leadership, because they fear that Lorias is too easy of a target for Heretics and Xenos. Though the people of Limar are more tolerating the leadership than the people of Koroa which are more radical, which also increases the fear of Lorias City's people thinking that the Chaos or Tyranid Genestealer Cults could spread among them.

    2.3 Weather
At the moment it is Spring. Latest researches gave that it would be a more rainy one than usual. This could give problems in the Mining Holes and Production Centers as erosion is a big problem and also slows down the trains due to safety before speed. The Planetary Defense Force on the other hand is as good as unaffected by the weather as they are well trained by their Colonel and the rest of the officer staff.

    3. Defenses
    3.1 Space Defense
In the orbit of Lorias there are different Outposts which constantly scan for dangers, but they also check incoming traders and merchants for illegal goods or xeno transports. A few Imperial Cruisers are in the orbit in case of a surprise attack, this small fleet was increased even bigger after the sudden Tyranid Invasion against Tarsis Ultra and also because Lorias is one of the more outside worlds of the Tarsis Ultra system. Furthermore since the Tyranid Invasion Lorias is the only “living” world in the Tarsis Ultra system and the Ultramarines and their Lord, Chapter Master Calgar, promised to do their best to protect Lorias from Xenos and Heretics alike. The Imperial Navy on request of the Governor and his Colonel stationed more ships in the space docks of Lorias which started to be constructed around a month ago with the promise to always maintain, repair and re-supply any ship of the Ultramarines if they should ever make use of their Space Docks once they are done.

    3.2 Planetary Defense Forces (PDF)

The Planetary Defense Forces of Lorias are well trained and more loyal than the regular PDF as they are citizens of a world close to the Ultramarines home sector, Ultramar. And as the most worlds protected by the Ultramarines their soldiers are fighting harder due to the demand of wanting to be appreciated as true soldiers in the name of the Imperium and not just cannon fodder like the most ignorant Adeptus Astartes handle the PDF of a planet. A reason for this also could be that the Ultramarines in fact appreciate every man of the Imperium, just like the stories from the survivors of Tarsis Ultra spread among the PDF on Lorias.

    RP Guidelines / Rules

    1. Participants
Only Users which are accepted by the faction leader may participate with a character for that specific faction in the rank he applied as or got assigned to from the faction leader. Everyone’s else posts will be ignored + reported in hope to get deleted so that the RP can continue without problems.

    1.1 Moderator / Admin Participation
Whenever I participate, for example as I will be the Shas’Vre of the Tau I will only use my in-game knowledge and also won’t let the leader know about any other information I have as my role of a Moderator / Admin and hope the same from every other member that somehow helps me to set up this RP (Warsmith Sarteth and Gladius most notably)

    2. Turns
This RP is turn-based therefore Common-sense to decide which ones turn it is would be great. There is no 100% enforced order as some events can happen at the same time. For Example talks / meetings or if a character is on-board a ship that travels through the warp or while war is raging on one side of the planet and some players which are in a totally other place can still move on in the meanwhile or communicate.
Just in battles let the enemy their turn for safety there will be a 48 hour posting span. (If this appears too long it can be reduced to 24 hours, e.g. if everyone is active except for 1 person or it is a major event such as a battle)

    2.1 Turn Replacement
In case a player is not answering during the 24h or 48h time span to make his/her next post I will jump in or the main-leader of the faction. The player is not automatically kicked out but since someone could have unforeseen problems the replacement works as a safety measurement to keep the RP alive.

    3. Battles & Death
During battles there can NPC’s die without problems, regards the numbers of how many fall I and optional moderators (if existing) will keep track of that and judge if it’s fair or not. Especially how many deaths there will be on artillery shots, etc.
Characters from other users on the other hand need 1 of these 3 permissions to be killed off:

    1. I decide it’s okay of how the battle goes that the character has to die as nobody is immortal (e.g. a Banshee managed to get into melee with a Devastator, then the devastator really cannot keep blocking and blocking and blocking and blocking somehow, the banshee easily would win this fight)

    2. The enemy main-leader agreed that the character can die on how the situation is

    3. The owner of the character allows that his character may die.

During battles you have no control of what your enemy is inflicting except nameless NPC’s (e.g. Tactical Marines without names, PDF, etc.) any other attack must be executed but without description of what it actual causes except it is what the character thinks it causes to the enemy. Examples to clarify:
“Urian Velos aimed with his Laser Cannon right into the ammo bay of the Chaos Predator” (post #1 from me)
“The Chaos Predator has severe damage but it was not enough to penetrate the Armor completely, it turned its main cannon now on the Devastator who shot with his Laser Cannon against the Predator and fires” (post #2 from the chaos guy who is in control of the tank)
“Urian jumped for cover when he saw the main cannon aiming at him and is therefore unwounded. He yelled into his Vox-Comm that somebody should take that Predator out already” (post #3 from me)

    3.1 Death & Re-Join
If your character should die you can re-join the RP in form of another (but already existing) character, e.g. your prior sub-ordinates. In case your character was a main or sub leader it of course CAN have dramatically consequences such as disbanding of troops, loss of morale or even morale boost (vengeance), etc. so please keep that in mind while rp’ing.

3.2 Re-Joining but in another faction
You can also re-join in another faction after your character dies. For this you of course have to let the leader of the desired faction know and ask for permission instead of simply doing so.

    4. Reinforcements & Force Organization
As every faction or at least their main-leaders know they gave numbers of their forces in total or specifically as reinforcements. I will do my best to count those and keep track not that the numbers are exceeded. What is no secret is for example that each company of Adeptus Astartes has around 100 Marines. So if a few die I will have my own list where I keep track with a +/- range and add every loss on the list. Not that in total 200 Ultramarines die though there were only 100 to begin with.

    4.1 Reinforcement Timer
Some factions have a reinforcement timer like the Imperium for example. Once they send their distress signal out or a faction contacts their prepared reinforcements it will take a while till they arrive. The times are not written in stone as I for example cannot tell how fast the RP will go. But to keep it realistic I will do my best to work with the faction leaders. But most likely it will run for warp travel 1-3 roleplay days after all in the meanwhile the meetings, etc. can be held and an instant arrival would be nothing but lore-breaking and unfair to the first deployments of enemies of the Imperium as they will NEED the advantage of attacking before the Imperium can call in for reinforcements. Also this will make it more interesting for the PDF ;)

    5. Goals, Victory & Losing
Every faction and / or main leader has a goal. If this is reached you can consider yourself lucky. For the Imperium obviously it is to defend their world against all the evil evil xenos and heretics. All goals are hidden from each other factions, except it is shared from faction to faction via PM or made public by a player of the faction during the RP. The Eldar, Chaos and Tau for example are all unknown public goals, though within their factions and to me of course it is known what they try to reach.

    5.1 Being fair
Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win please accept this. Perhaps you will learn from your mistakes and be more successful in the next Scenario we might have!

    6. Problems, Suggestions and Other
If you have any kind of problem, a suggestion or any other comment to make please write me a PM instead of writing it on the RP forum, EXCEPT it is something that all should hear / read. Alternatively that can also be forwarded to me so I can post it for the person anonymously. (E.G. if someone feels discriminated / attacked or has other problems with the other roleplayers)

I want to keep a good atmosphere where we just can have our fun while still making progress, this includes that someone actually has to lose and someone has to win. I hope that people won’t feel “butthurt” if they seem to lose, but that they rather accept it and do the best they can out of a situation and just enjoy the fun they have. So if you have issues with how I handle the RP, how people treat you or if they RP reaaaalllly poor or unfair, please let me know!

It's a rainy day all over Lorias, just as it would be some kind of bad omen. After all the Governor was unpleased by the seemingly sudden appearance of a Lord Inquisitor and his personal bodyguard. What his purpose was? The governor was soon going to find out, same as his very unhappy Colonel who does everything to keep order on this world.

The PDF of Lorias was nowhere near an elite, he knew that. But it was a loyal force that did not question orders, they were ready to sacrifice themselves for their home. They were warriors just with the lack of experience on the field. After surviving a Tyranid attack and earning his position as Colonel he would make sure that his people were ready for whenever those beasts or other enemies would dare to set foot on his world. But there was no enemy, only a Lord Inquisitor that he already thought was questioning the loyalty of him and his people towards the Imperium. They live, work, fight and die for the Imperium how can ANYONE question the loyalty of HIM and HIS soldiers?!

The workers in Dretia were suffering under the heavy rain from the last few days, some mining tunnels started to be flooded and it was a pain to pump them out. So the mining went less efficient, the production in Ora on the other hand being unaffected it at this point as the ore supplies are still enough to keep the production output on a regular base.

Limar suffers a bit of the erosion through all the rain as the river running by the main fields flooded, but no major problem occurred yet as the pumps were activated quickly and the farm workers are making sure to keep the soil intact as the new crops have to be seeded soon to make sure that the harvesting in Autumn will be a successful one.

Koroa was as good as unaffected, except that there was more safety required for landing and departure as the view was horrible and some of the merchant pilots were reckless. No major incident happened.... Yet but the safety personal gave their best to keep it this way.

Lorias' City only had an issue with the Homeless as they tried to crawl more into other homes for shelter. Many also got sick, but it would be too expensive to get them all into a hospital, especially as some Citizens may need proper treatment and the hospital beds would be needed for them.

So the only concern at the moment was the Inquisition...

Lord Inquisitor Karelix stood at his ship's bridge, gazing at the planet before him. The plans he had set for Lorias would finally begin.

His ship, The Demios, had arrived in orbit the day before. The retinue accompanying him had made planet-side immediately after their arrival, but it was only now the that Inquisitor would seek contact with the planet's forces. Turning to face the officers of the bridge, he began to speak.

"Have communications contact the closest ship in orbit and inform them that Lord Inquisitor Karelix requests to meet with the planet's governor upon arrival. "

His orders were immediately answered with an immediate jolt, as the crew began pouring over their monitors in preparation for the orders they anticipated would follow. The Inquisitor grinned at the eagerness the crew displayed; they were servant to one of the most powerful men of the sector and they knew the dangers of making their commander impatient.

"Following confirmation from the planet's forces, have a thunder-hawk prepared for me in the hanger, and inform my staff on the ground of my landing."

Returning to face the observation window, Karelix again became entranced by Lorias and his plans for it.

From the surface of Lorias, Celestian superior Lydia Gazed into the grey and rainy sky. She wondered if the weather would improve. Suddenly remembering, she turned to the near by communication console. She contacted Inquisitor Lord Karelix's ship, The Deimos. "Lord inquisitor, we are ready for your arrival on Lorias, i await your instruction. Superior Lydia, out". She cut off the communication, and looked into the sky once again. Awaiting the orders from the Inquisitor.

Zeb was in the middle of a grand sermon within the depths of the Cathedral of the Emperor Ascendant when the news came, the servants knew not to interrupt as he spoke the holy word to the disgruntled masses, some still stained from their work in the forges. After the speech a hunched acolyte made it's way to Zeb's side, giving him a bow and relaying it's knowledge "Sire, it appears the Emperors most holy Inquisition has arrived in orbit. We haven't gained much information about their arrival yet, but surely they would not come if some slight had not been made? I think it prudent that our own lord Confessor himself be present to greet the Inquisition." Agreeing with the little man the confessor gathered himself and a small retinue of sisters, including his silent bodyguard, and made off in his personal shuttle nestled near the roof of the cathedral, intent on arriving at the governors palace in time to greet the Lord Inquisitor as one of his status should be.

His Divine Majesties Ship Magnificent - Overlord-Class Battlecrusier
Flagship of Battle Group Sternguard - High Orbit over Lorias – 08:50Hrs Local Time

The command bridge was as silent as the void, as Commodore Stephan Van Vorst gazed at the hazy green tactical hololith, with a mixture of relief and dread fighting over his facial expression. Dread won out in the end.

While he was relieved that the vessel, that the warp had just spat out into the entrance lane of Lorias’ orbital port, was a loyal Imperial ship, he was less relieved to find out it was an Inquisitorial Black Ship! Never, in all of his years, had he been so close to one. They were even more terrifying then described. The stories he had heard about what went on inside the prison cells . . . .

He shook his head, and shuddered. He stared at the ships projection again, just in time, as he had the briefest glimpse of a shuttle craft leaving the ship, designated Demios by the Inquisitorial Authorization Codes it was broadcasting. The landing craft, an Aquila-Class Lander it seemed, swept pass the mighty ships of the Battlegroup, slipped around the edge of the two orbital star-forts that tracked its every movement, and hurtled down into the atmosphere without hesitation.

Hell of a pilot . . . Stephan thought to himself.

He cleared his throat loudly, as to break the spell over his crew. “Helmsman, bring us to port, heading 158. Give the Inquisitors’ vessel ample room to maneuver. Grant priority clearance to utilize whichever anchorage point He so desires.”, He orderly sternly. His voice sent his crew back into their usual flurry of activity.

“Tactical, release target locks and power down weapons to standby. I do not wish to offend his Lordship. At least not yet” He chuckled. More for his own benefit, then his crew’s.

“Lieutenant Valters, ready my shuttle, and extend an invitation to the Lord Inquisitor to join me at the Spaceport, prior to his proceeding to the surface.” Stephan shouted at his Adjutant, as he departed the bridge. That should buy the Lord Governor some time to sort things out planetside.

Which reminded him, as he turned his head on his way out, shouting: “And someone let the Fabricator Marshall know that the Inquisition is here, if you please”

    Fabricator Marshall’s Palace
Lorias City – 09:20Hrs Local Time

The rain hammered the armaglass windows of the Fabricator Marshall’s private office. The heavy staccato reminded him of the incessant hammering of factory workers on their work benches. It was a very miserable day on Lorias. The weather did nothing but to add to his ever darkening mood.

First, there had been reports of flooding and cave-ins from the Dretia Mining Corporation. Several dozen workers were dead or missing. Days, maybe even weeks, of lost productivity lay ahead, but until the rain stopped, they could only hope to keep the flood levels from rising too dangerously. Thus far, it had no major impact on manufacturing quotas. Thus far . . .

That was only the beginning of the bad news. Several agri-combines in Limar had been completely washed out. Entire crop yields wiped out in minutes. They had only been planted three weeks prior. There was no concern for food shortage, thankfully. The last crop cycle had been abundant, and supplies were well stocked. Still, it would affect Tithe allocations before the end of the quarter. Alas, even that was hardly his most worrisome dilemma.

With that thought, Alexis Kalvanis turned away from his panoramic view of his dreary world, to face his hand-crafted wooden desk, which was gradually being overtaken a small mountain of missives, reports, and data-slates. They were all neatly organized in stacks by department, date and context, of course. He was a firm believer that a tidy desk meant a tidy world.

It was an adage that had served him well thus far throughout his illustrious career. He had managed to work his way up the rungs of the Imperial Bureaucracy, one small step at a time. He’d even managed to make a few more friends than enemies along the way, surprisingly. He attributed that with never forgetting where he came from. He hadn’t started on the top, and always ensured his junior staffers were given opportunities to demonstrate their skills, just as his mentors had done before him. Far too many Adepts overlooked the toil of their underlings. Give them praise and acknowledgement. Recognise their hard work, and they would die for you, if given the chance. Not that he had yet to call in those particular favours. Not yet at least.

His musings were rudely interrupted by a barrage of frantic knocking on his office’s front door. The racket reverberated around his office like the footsteps of an angry god. He did so love the acoustics . . .

“Enter” Alexis said, without looking up from his desk, as he opened another missive from Cardinal Servantes, of Koroa. It read as they always did. Expressing concerns about how off-world traders were bringing “their unholy and indeed, borderline heretical, views and opinions” to the people of Koroa, whose “minds are easily swayed to turn from the Emperor’s divine light”. His usual unfounded, and ridiculous claims and opinions, carefully phrased to come across as fact.

He’d spoken to the Adeptus Arbites several times. Their investigations concluded that there was no “plot perpetuated by off-world merchants to instill disenfranchisement with the Pax Imperialis, amongst the loyal and faithful citizens of Koroa City”.

As he took up his stylus to begin drafting yet another reply, the hurried footsteps of his office door’s assailant drew closer.

“My Lord Fabricator-Marshall” the footsteps shouted. Alexis looked up from his writing to see the flushed face of one of his military attachés drawing closer, grasping a flapping waiver of parchment in his hand.

He stopped before Alexis’ desk, saluted, and presented the parchment for his inspection. Alexis took it from him, concern etching his features. He read it quickly, eyes bulging slightly, at reading the bolded letters of “Lord Inquisitor of His Most Holy Ordo Herecticus, of the most Holy Ordos of the Holy Inquisition”.

Alexis looked up at the young officer, and began to utter “When... “

“Just now, my Lord” He replied hurriedly, anticipating his question. “Commodore Van Vorst has requested the Inquisitor meet him at the Space Port, so that they might travel to the surface together; allowing us more time to prepare. However, the Inquisitors Retinue is already here. They await your Lordship on the western landing platform.”

“I see” Alexis replied, pushing himself back and rising from his chair. “Send a priority missive immediately. Summon the Privy Council to meet as soon as possible. Ensure you stress the importance of their personal attendance. Save for Forgemaster Bohrmann, as he would not arrive in person even if the Emperor himself were to be in attendance.”

“At once Lord” The man replied. He saluted again, and took off, his boots clicking loudly on the veined marble floor.

Alexis walked around his desk and made his way to the large full length mirror that dominated the wall next to the door to his office. He quickly straightened his crisp, high collared blue and gold trimmed tunic, (the same blue that adorned the armour of the valiant Ultramarines) Ensuring his decorations were straight and his deep crimson sash was tied snuggly, he strode out into the hall way.

The guards to either side of his office door snapped to attention, and saluted. His chamberlain awaited him, Alexis’ greatcoat and peaked cap in hand. Another man held a folded umbrella for him. He took each item and dressed quickly as he walked.

His day had now officially just gotten worse.
