From http://www.thefirstfounding.com/forum/m/16373774/viewthread/9220382-chaos-qa/post/last#last Will Plague Marines, Noise Marines, Bezerkers, or Thousand Sons make an appearance? Yes, for sure, but most likely in a post-launch update.
Careful brother or I might start liking you, and I am sure the favor of a heretic is a form of heresy. I would not want you purging yourself.
Something I haven't seen tossed around very often, but I think would be fantastic, is to have Rubric Marines around as "pet" units. Being able to summon and control a Rubric Marine as a Thousand Sons sorcerer would be a very neat mechanic. This would make lots of sense if the normal Sorcerer template involved summoning daemons for use in combat, as the Rubric would just be a specific summoning.
Crossing my fingers they get released soon after the game is released, seeing as it's unlikely that they'll be there on release like i said Devs pls
A little run down the memory lane... Back in the 30th millennium the Pre-Heresy Thousand Sons were what the Grey Knights now are for today's Imperium of Man. From what I saw here on the forum, the Grey Knights are getting rebuked for being OP and all... Lorewise, the story isn't much different concerning their fallen Psyker bretheren. Don't get me wrong, I love the 1kSons lore and I had read the novel that beares their name, as well as Prospero Burns and Ahriman the Exile. FF to 41st millennium. The thing is, the 1kSons CSM's are deprived of their own will, they stand confused, knowing no fear they do not retreat and bearing a helluva threshold for taking on a lot of damage before failing on the field of battle, but they can't do jack unless directed by a Sorcerer. (SPOILER ALERT-Ahriman the Exile novel) Other than the fact that when Ahriman came in close proximity to one of the Rubrics when he dispatched Tolbek to whom the two Rubric Marines were bound, did only then the automaton act and start strangling him until the Master Librarian spoke the Rubric's birth name and was able to stop him. (SPOILER ENDS) Perhaps a 1kSons Sorcerer will be able summon a retinue of Rubric Automatons, as a special ability in contrast to the other Chaos Psyker classes and subclasses in game, depending on the Chaos faction perhaps. Other than that, I fear You as a player won't be able to play as a 1kSons CSM because that would invalidate the lore that follows... All in all, then again, I do believe that no one can stop You as a CSM to claim some of their relics and wargear (as a reward for a mission accomplished or a special buy DLC). It would be cooL to be clad in a Thousand Sons Power Armor with all their criteria, be it Pre-Heresy or Post-Heresy.
