Ha ha, get zogged umies. At least we have the eldar shoulder to look forward to. That's the only one of the whole bunch I'm going to wear, just watch though it'll be restricted to like one class.
Most of those are chapter/legion specific, the ones that arn't would instead require modeling and not just a texture edit. Note that this should, the ork shoulder we already have, and the up coming CSM shoulder are all just texture edits. Yeah a nicely modeled shoulder with eagles, aquilas, and shit would be nice. Same for CSM with nicely modeled skulls instead instead of just a texture. Though we have to face reality that these are quick and simple texture edits they are giving out for free.
On a shoulderpad.... I could see that painting as a fresco on the wall inside of a Fortress inner sanctum or in a shrine or temple to Terra and the Emperor on one of the fortress maps. Scenes like this are commonly depicted in 40K novels, paintings of the Emperor and/or Primarchs along with statues. The artwork looks great. It's the fact that it's on a shoulderpad, that's the problem. If we're making a "one size fits all" super Imperium of Mankind shoulder that's NOT Chapter specific I'd rather see an aquilla, something along the lines of:
The painted look clashes with the whole game aesthetic to me. Like, it looks like a jpg just pasted on the shoulder pad. The image is nice, but the way it looks in game doesn't really work.
I'd hang it on my wall and use it as a focus point for when using the Emperor's Tarot. Wouldn't wear it but I'd collect it.
The CSM one actually didn't look too bad today, but it has dark colors/white which is less jarring than this LSM one.
