How it always is "I don't like this thing Eldar do, so it must be OP and therefore deserves a nerf" Meanwhile I make a post how the ASC needs a buff to compare better to the bolter only to be told the TLASC is perfectly fine vs the bolter... Yet when the bolter MIGHT get nerfed to levels similar to the ASC it's a REEE-fest
Eldar, a race that can't get a match unless there's a guild stack running has territory control since it can't be taken back unless there's a battle? Who'd of thought
That sounds like a good solution: You can still get out when you react fast enough, but not at any point during the fight. So when you are spotted the decision now is not "When do I go? I survive anyway." but rather "Do I go or do I commit to that fight and possibly die?" Which is a better question in that situation tbh. It would make taking the risk of staying and shooting more enemies more of an actual risk as opposed to a "will soon go, just a few more shots, they won't get me anyway", which is the part that makes Hawks so annoying: they will stay until the very last split-second, shoot what they can, then cycle around and - if at least decently competent - be far gone to who-knows-where. Now they had to either leave (being not really annoying for the time being at least) or fight a decently fair fight. It would probably raise the challenge bar on the class, since being spotted now means relocation inbound, which in turn means that looking for good spots is required, but the good hawk players already do that, so it would not be that big a problem.
Then why do their Lasblasters feel like high powered raid fire sniper rifles, and do more damage than the Dire Avengers? I've been willing to give them the benefit of the doubt for a while, but I'm honestly past that now. Some friends of mine played the game for the first time the other day, and we were having a good time playing Orks (and one match of Chaos), but the minute we went up against the Eldar, they pretty much said they wouldn't be making a purchase if this was the kind of stuff they had to deal with. Granted, it may have been some MYST members doing what they do best (i.e. pub stomping), but the one thing they complained about were the Swooping Hawks. With their ability to get to places most JP classes can't AND snipe you from long range, plus not being able to "wing clip" them effectively, they just aren't fun to fight against. If anything, the Lasblasters probably need to be changed to a 5/30 single fire gun with MAYBE a 10% dmg reduction. They can keep their super mobility and grenade spam. Or just make the Eldar squishier (but given I don't recall default stats on all races and classes, I can't say that would be a good idea), but make them quicker at... well, everything. Faster cap times, faster reload, faster revive, slightly faster run speed etc. Heck, maybe even give them +1 stamina by default to reflect their speedy nature (and make up for any health nerfs). Failing all the above: Just make all the stats between all races them same.
Then why there's 0 eldar players almost all the time if they are so OP? Maybe something wrong is up there, don't you think? Maybe it's because you are killed with 3 bolts as dire avenger having all hp and armor trinkets and gear? Or maybe because it takes a mag fired from a shuriken catapult to kill ONE marine? Try to play as eldar and maybe you will understand. I have 4 characters and I played every faction to at least 5th rank. So I can say that playing as pointy-eared just raises your skill, because you MUST be careful and fast to do something, otherwise you are killed from a random bolt. It's almost impossible to do anything against skilled Sphess Mehreenes with stalker bolters oneshotting you. And try to bust a grenade with your shuriken catapult, really.
