So one thing. The orks aren't a skin swap like the two SMs are of each other, It's a completely different mocap set of animations, and a completely different thing to tune. Definitely there are bugs still there. Patch 22 was miserable on my end for performance, but p23 has brought it back to playable. That's going to vary across the board, and honestly I think the Sept 23 release is rushed just because of the optimization. And yes, orks are still in a bad spot. The shoota is still underperforming, I'm not sure if the headshot issue was ever even acknowledged, you have a lot of advancement walls, and you carry the brunt of the melee bugs still. All I can say is the hit detection (which is server side) is probably going to be resolved by end of next week. That should make a noticeable difference. Best of luck.
Orks evade/roll attack is way, way too slow and way way too short. It waits a good second after the roll has finished to lunge for an attack and by lunge I mean more of a hop of a couple feet compared to everyone elses giant 6-10 feet lunges. Shits gotta get fixed.
This is just miserable. If you see me in game I'll be that grot bitching up a storm. Gotta love being heavy bolter fodder while I foolishly try to grind for an elektric choppa. Doubt it will help anyway but at least I can stun again.
Devs - "We don't want the orks to be a fodder faction" They sure as fuck don't feel like a 1-1 strength with any other race currently more like 2-3 orks to 1 lsm/csm and 2 orks to 1 eldar.... If we're not supposed to be a fodder faction why does it feel like we're balanced around the WAAAGH!!! mechanic right now for the instant respawn when it pops. I like that the orks feel more polished but if they are to stay a fodder faction I don't see myself playing much post launch.
The problem I see with orks at the moment is they should literally rock in melee and instead they don't. Their weapons should be imprecise but have high dakka and hit very hard but at the moment it's not the case.
Reading this thread makes me wonder if ork melee is even different from other races. Is it not the exact same thing for all races? Except when you look at SM/CSM winrates they're the complete opposite of each other, in spite of having the same animations and nearly identical classes and weapons.
If you look at the world map you can see that Orks are clearly losing everywhere. I think we might need that balancing patch, at least before launch...
I won about half my games as Ork last night. I just went Painboy and said fuck it. Melee's just as good as Slugga atm and can heal myself/others? Done. Plenty of other people can cap for me.
