Warhammer 40k uses gauges but they're 4 and 6 guage, essentially mankiller rounds and as to auto guns being worst than lasguns, they're not depending on the type. Stub weapons are essentially really shitty auto weapons equivalent to hand me down automatic rifles of todays standard whereas a standard autogun is an oversized assault rifle firing normally a .308 cartridge equivalent since the 5.45x45mm NATO is the norm for most regular assault rifles but 40k uses a slightly larger round. As to laser weapons being used by the Navy, their Armsmen don't use las weapons, the vessels weapons however are a different story since laser based weapons are the most accurate and fastest to hit a target since they move at the speed of light and literally travel in a straight line. The problem however is the distance, energy dissipates the longer it travels and since most "close quarters" duels between ships still take place at thousands of kilometers away, a sniping duel is several million kilometers and the lead time and distance makes them poor choices which is when regular missiles and torpedoes would be used which have fuel reserves to propel them the distance without losing their effectiveness since they can self guide or correct while in flight.

History: Saven was born into a Noble Spyrer House on the Hive world of Rargeth Prime, who held the role of Planetary Governor and being the first child of her parents she was earmarked as being their heir to the position. When she was young, Celeste had struck ended up striking an odd friendship with Dekka, a Nuvenorean brought from an off-world slave market to help tutor the young girl, along with aiding her parents with their political ambitions. Aside from Dakol's heretical friendship, her life was as normal as one can have when surrounded by wealth that few could ever hope to posses. When she was 16, she completed her first Spyrer hunt which marking her as ready to take on the mantle of leadership, leading her to be trained as her parent's successor, Dekka still at her side. But.... Saven fell victim to Hive-World politics, as other Houses made a power play to secure the position of Planetary Governor. Such was the lengths they went to secure that power, they falsified evidence to mark her as in league with the Ruinous Powers, working to bring about the downfall of Rargeth Prime. They then accused her of Treason against the Imperium which merited the attention of a Puritan Inquisitor who was hot on Dakol's heels, sabotaged her Hunting Rig in an attempt to prevent her from escaping and her family disowning her in an attempt to save themselves from the hammer of the Imperium wiping them out of existence. Under such odds, Saven Celeste Dakol was forced to leave her home behind, and escape into the wider galaxy: A final audio message from the conspirators that had cost Saven her position and Dekka being the two things that have kept her spirit from falling into the abyss. Recruitment: Having survived and escaped the attention of a Puritan Inquisitor and killing a squad of Inquisitorial Storm troopers in the process with a barely functional Hunting Rig, Saven Celeste Dakol was a natural choice as extra fire support. She was also sought out as a potential infiltrator for undercover work, having spent time as a Mercenary which entailed developing a similar skill-set to a proper infiltrator so that she could operate within the Imperium without alerting the Inquisitor Her work on fixing her Rig after it's sabotage also lend an extra, non-Mechanicum source of technical skills to the Retinue, even if somewhat limited in scope and depth compared to the 'approved' source of technical knowledge.

What he didn’t expect was the kindness of Saven, who saw him as a person and friend instead of simply property. But this good fortune didn’t last long as the Dakol family was accused of Heresy and Treason, several other Families working together to form this false narrative against them, chiefly Saven who was heir to the control of the Family and possible planetary Governor. With her family disowning her, he voluntarily left with her ,more loyal to her than to the family now, helping her go on the run from the Inquisitor that arrived at the hints of Heresy and doing his best to make sure his Mistress did not succumb to despair at what had happen. Recruitment: On the run with his Mistress being hunted, Dekkas constantly thought ahead in order to be steps ahead of the puritan inquisitor while leaving a trail of planted misinformation to make the Puritan and the other hunting parties go down dead ends or follow a cold trail. It’s not often something keeps an Inquisitor at bay with information alone, let alone an individual. Such a living Cogitator could be a boon in finding hints of corruption or heresy even in the most mundane of things such as transport manifests, banking information, even just daily reports of maintenance servitor. Even if she detested Xenos in general, a useful tool is still a useful tool, till it becomes disposable that is…

@Casavay I assume that when this RP does start, that it will not be the first time out characters have seen each other, correct? If so, would it be ok for players to PM each about establishing a pre existing relationships, both good and bad?
