I told @Casavay he could have made an Imperial Navy Wing Squadron RP. So don't blame me bro. Usually Ork when possible - but generally oddball of the group. From Urkrag over Malrak to Severath you always are the outsider and usually more of an introvert with own agendas that nobody needs to understand since you will act as you see fit either way unless in the case of Malrak it would mean higher chance of death #ToleratingAlienAsALeader But from what I see you wanna differentiate and be the outsider from the get go and be the guy nobody can or wants to understand but still be credited for his particular skillset which is why you always take someone who is very good at something not many others are or not even capable of.
Women a lot. And the one that nobody expects. Someone who can turn things around in the right moment at the right time but other than that usually being very average or expected. Felana is a grand example she seems not more than an ordinary medic. Yet she has enough fleshcrafting understanding to even tend to Astartes and/or make emergency agents up to heal all sorts of viruses and/or develop them with minimal assistance. Not to forget her abilities of creating new lifeforms and/or shaping existing individuals by modifying their genomes. Milinda for 6th coin is of similar nature but different. Her faith may keep the group from doing something that would betray the Imperium if the Eldar ever tried to persuade Jeb or the other characters to do something they usually wouldn't - even if it would mean the death of all of them. A dead loyalist is better than a living traitor. Tarcain from the original Deathwatch was similar but of different nature. And in the end, he had a fate different than those of all others, heh. It's a curse and a gift.
I believe in gender equality, I have about a 50/50 ratio of M to F characters lol. I think I've also done almost every profession in the Guard and Navy from commanding officer to engineer to medicae to vox-operator to commissar lol.
I can't help it I enjoying being the useful outcast with his own agenda. I prefer to keep my characters the same gender as me just a personal preference really.
