  1. If you are playing as team player this post is not for you. This post is to state the obvious.

I feel it's time to write a post about this! This morning, while interrupting a point from being captured, an ally knifed me so he can interrupt the capture instead of me. WTF dudes! And before you jump to this guys defense. Let me remind you he made a melee attack which means he was standing next to me. Where he could easily see that I was of the same faction. Even when I was playing with my graphics turned all the way down at melee range I could still tell the difference between who to shoot at and who not to.

This is the same morning that an ally was capping a point and started to get shot at. So I stood in front of him and sacrificed myself so he can start the capture. That's called teamwork.

Basicly, I'm starting to get annoyed with all the Rambo wannabies and glory hogs. You are playing as an individual in a team based game. So here are some VERY basic tips to keep in mind:

To win a match it require team work. That means moving on objects as a group. Not just running into a room one at a time to get mowed down by defenders. Also don't stand in a firing line in a doorway either move into the room or back away. Staying in a cluster at a door way is easy picking for someone to just toss a nade at you or a devastator/havoc class to pound the crap out of you.

Spawn in on a Rhino. I know a few people do it, but not everyone. This is SUPER important in this game since spawning in on a point can start you as far away as another objective point. Spawning in on your squad's Rhino that next to the objective can easily save you some running across the map through hostile sniper territory. This allows for reinforcements to arrive sooner. If there is no Rhino for you to spawn in on get one and move it close to a capture point that you need to defend or capture depending on the situation of the map.

Don't let your Brothers die. Time and time again have I been ran past while I was in a wounded state. And I've watch people run by another downed player while was reviving another player. Now yes, I understand if it's a fire fight you don't have the opportunity to revive someone. That's what the apothecary and the sorcs classes are for. If you are wounded durning a scrimmish try to crawl away first and see if someone is around that can revive you. If you don't think you'll get to someone or somewhere safe in time then just bleed out. If you're worried about an enemy preforming a finisher on you while a your allies are coming up. Don't worry about it. You actually want them to do a finisher on you. They become a super easy target and are defenseless while doing it. Remember it can take up to 20 seconds to respawn. Taking a moment to revive a player only take a second.

PLEASE STOP THROWING NADES UP STAIRS! Unless your or 100% positive it's going to clear the stairs and land on the next floor (AND NOT BOUNCE BACK) don't do it. Grenades roll. And they will roll back to you or your allies before they go off.

DON'T go off on your own. It's simple. If you go off on your own you're going to die alone. Now I get it, some of you are actually getting to a sniper position and snipe shots into the enemies flank. That is a useful thing to do. But when you do it by yourself. You're just going to get ground pounded by a jet packer that is waiting for you to do it. Get a buddy to come with and be a spotter for you if you are doing that.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF EMPEROR OF MANKIND! Don't stare as if you are a deer trapped in the headlight while a tank is blowing the shit out of everything. Throw some krak grenades on it, resupply and repeat. Get a plasma gun and blast the shit out of it. Spawn in with a power sword or a power fist and melee it down. Don't just let the tank cover entrances to a room with an objective in it. That pushes your team back and doesn't allow for it to advance.

Ultimately working as a team is what wins round.

Thank you for reading these simple simple simple tips and reminders. If you have any other tip and reminders for any players both new and experienced please share them.

In general, there are priorities for where you are. Reviving allies are usually the most important, unless you are in a firefight, but even then, look for opportunities. Getting a team mate up can be the difference in a fight (Apothecaries Always use F to revive).

Capping or Uncapping a point would come in second, Unless there are multiple people who are already reviving others, then take the point. Remember it is also easier to uncap a point then to recap. The enemies will be spawning closer and you have to defend the point for longer.

Executing enemies comes in third. I know its fun, but it takes a long time and leaves you exposed. If you are going to do it, I recommend switching to your knife. It seems to go faster. Also, check the area and make sure you are not going to get killed when you start. Be aware of your surroundings and where your squad mates are.

    Revive>Uncapping point>Capping point>Executing

This may change in the future, but for now this is my recommendation. Obviously it always depends on the situation, but this is a good general guideline.

Remember, this is a Team Game.

I would also like to say sorry to the lone Chaos marine who I didn't revive when I tried to uncap the point. We were stormed by loyalists and we lost the point anyways. I made the wrong decision.

  3. There is an "I" in win. If you want organized team play, petition for solo/group ques like many of us did. Otherwise tips are fine, but don't try and force your vision of how the game should play on others.

  4. RuntCaustas you make a very valid point in what you should be doing and the order that you should be doing it.

Only if you cut out the heart and flip it around :p

Jokes aside, This is an Online Team Focused game and playing as such will help your team more than walking off by yourself will.
Though, I am not saying that you should all join up with a clan and completely stop lone wolfing. There is a time and place for everything. Sometimes we need lone wolves to flank the enemy where they least expect it or single out specific points while another squad is defending a different point. It is however easier to do this with another person or squad at your back.

I can't force you to do anything. However, I'm just basing my vision off what the Devs have been and are saying.

    lol

the only thing I dont like about teamplay is the way it dramatically reduces the amount of game time during a match when its done well

personally I dont play as part of a team (I'm a sniper/tank hunter) and my prefered gaming style doesnt mesh well with having a group around me ... but that doesnt mean other people cant teamplay their little black hearts out

but when it starts to consistantly mean a match is won/lost in under 10mins then it does effect me

when I log into EC I want to play as long as possible, not be kicked to the next match ... for instance when PG was going strong they would more often then not win a match in around 8 minutes and that was infuriating

I see how that would be annoying for a sniper like you. Though if PG is defending then you know you should have a long match.

I have mixed feelings about teamwork, its a great thing to have on battlefield but other times I wish no. A lot of the times when I'm beating the stuffing out of someone we both die from a mysterious Plasma Cannon. But then again we are chaos were supposed to kill, help our allies then betray them later so we can have the power of chaos for ourselves.
