The Valerian 19th colors follow a tradition similar to regiments tithed from other world throughout the Draconis subsector, owing to an ancient interplanetary tradition which has remained prevalent throughout the set of planets for millennia most regiments from this subsector elect to adopt the Mechanicus red coloration in honor of an age old debt. Though the exact details of the how the perceived debt came to be have been lost to the common guardsmen the higher ups realize that the Mechanicus played a major part in recovering the subsector thousands of years ago when an Explorator fleet found a lost Forge world in the subsector. During this rediscovery the Mechanicus also found human civilization on the planets of Valerian and Byzantium still loyal to the Imperium and seeing them as a suitable resource to aid their recovery of the forge world evacuated a portion of these people to repopulate the subsector resulting in the creation of the New Byzantium hive world and the Varagnian civilized world. Since that time the subsector has developed into a thriving cosmopolitan region of space with the forge world now verbally named as 'Tower' fully operational safely tucked away in its center surrounded by Imperial planets, since that time the Imperial population of the subsector perceive a debt of thanks owed to the Adeptus Mechanicus and have since adopted the organizations color scheme. The Mechanicus however seldom acknowledge this fact and it has been noted that they now believe that they have achieved their objective of providing additional protection for their recovered forge world. The 19th Valerian is no exception to this tradition yet over the years the regimental colors have been muddied by the merging of so many different regiments that there is no consistent uniformity in the regiment anymore save for the inner veteran core of the regiment where the colors still endure. The specific colors favored by this particular regiment are bright red and dark teal with gold ornamentation being afforded to those of sufficient rank.
Dude that is very close to my original colors for my army. And thats an awsome back story. It makes more sense now for the former skitarii to join this particular regiment.
Not to spoil the jolly-good mood or anything but... ...you guys do realize that the only Forge World that uses the "rust-red" color or as you might know it "omg red dudes in robes?Techpriests!" is...Mars. All other Forge Worlds have their own color schemes :/
Not necessarily true...plenty of forgeworlds use mars red..just in different spots and amounts. Plus he could just be a mars guy who left?
Not necessarily, the Forge worlds of Lucius, Graia and Stygies IV all use different shades of red in their color schemes which does not make that part of the spectrum exclusive to mars, in fact the preference seems to extend to multiple forge worlds as shown in the Codex Cult Mechanicus. That said I never said the Imperial guard emulated the forge world colors, I said they emulated the colors of the Adeptus Mechanicus which just happened to be rust red. The new colors of the recovered forge world I have yet to establish, I need to learn to stop painting Mars Techpriests first if my first forays into painting models for them is anything to go by. here is my first attempt at a Dominus below.
Nope...only Mars uses the rust-red.Check below. Different pattern, different color = different color-scheme mate Cult Mechanicus does not have a unified color-scheme.It just happens that most of the Expeditionary Forces being at Mars,so it is obviously the most influential but they all differ, even if they adopt the similar colors or shades of the same...they are still different. Comparison: The Red Planet: Sygies: Lucius: Both different colors of red (when red is employed) and different scheme. Praise the Machine God!
