Wouldn't the legions have some varient of the Stormbird pre-heresy transport. True the stormbird was frigging massive but it would fit the lore better and make CSM not just SMs with spikes.
Yeah and that's the problem, at least with it being player piloted. How do you feel about some of the bigger flyers being just animation? They would have an impact ,i.e. thunderhawk gun runs, storm bird doing a flyover and craping raptors all over everyone etc. Then they could have the smaller flyers like helldrakes,(how does one "pilot" a helldrake? idk),Eldar crimson hunters, and stormravens player pilotable. I think it would add to the feeling of there being these massive fleets in orbit above the planet without breaking the high intensity combat that the devs are going for.
I just wanna say that as we think about this and how much stuff actualy costs in requisition there is an alternative available, Land Speeder Storm. Well it's ment for scouts yes, but who ways it can't be filled with tactical marines.
