To generate hype Does making a low quality trailer (and I apologize for using this analogy again) that looks like its from 2005 generate hype amongst the general gamer populous? No it does not! In fact it perpetuates silly assumptions like those mentioned in your post! Is this something you'd proudly share with your friends? Not proudly! So my point still stands. Why show it in the first place without heavily emphasizing it is not a finished project (if that truly is the case)?

I give a credit bE for attempt, but even keeping in mind that it's W.I.P. (we haven't seen anything production-ready yet, actually), I do not like that teaser. I doubt this trailer will be much better when finished - it's just waste of time and resources. Yes, they are a low-budget team who made low-budget cr@p-trailer, which has shown lack of experience and CG skills, thus a question: why have they bothered with CG at all? Young dev-team should adequately assess their capabilities and draw appropriate conclusions. Something like ork-boss and tyraninds short introductions in DoW2 would be easier to produce, easier to make cool and easier to expand (the story) if needed. And it's just one example how to reduce cost of non-mandatory teaser for their first A class project. This is not a hate post, no need to post ridiculous pictures and fanatical froth-mumbling. I still ready to trust bE and Miguel, just sorry for resources thrown away on useless PR failure.
Impossible, the devs need to issue a personal apology to them for showing a 30 second trailer on a livestream that wasn't 1080p and 60fps. But seriously, I'm just interested to see what gets shown around noon.
I agree with you too Kaldor, if given a choice between no trailer and this trailer, I probably would have chosen no trailer, if only because my comment will only be seen by the people who bother to read every single page of this thread from here on in, and I will therefore have to put up with reading complaints about this game which are purely based upon this trailer. The one saving grace is that while I will read the opinions of others, I don't actually care what they are. I will still be hyped for this game, and if others are not just because of this video I won't be wasting too much breath on the forums debating them (I usually just add my 2 cents, insult someone and go home).
Call me lazy for not wanting to trawl through multiple threads. Call yourself lazy for not writing a less-than-a-sentence answer. Then I'd be informed, able to spread that information for anyone else who asks, and of course you would be very helpful, rather than this ultimately unhelpful "go find out" attitude (Which is completely undermined when someone else answers my question anyway).
Quite frankly, I was more impressed with the Space Hulk Deathwing trailer and all they did was show a few shots of a Terminator! Also you aren't really indicating what demographic your brother and buddies are. I.e. do they like 40k? Have they been gamers for a long time? Are they in their late 20s onwards? In the social media I use, the response literally was 'this looks like something out of 2005'. So unfortunately I did not get the same positive feedback.
But all we ahve seen of space hulk deathwing is a cgi trailer and 4 screenshots it looks good dont get me wrong but eternal crusade is building its hype this e3 the devs gave us an unfinished cgi trailer which looked pretty good i think e3 is not over! I expect we will see some gameplay or screens at least....our crusade is eternal! well at least 18 months
