Not for any of the upgraded weapons (i.e. Choppa, etc.) Those are all requisition only. There are reskins of the basic sword-type choppa but that's not in any way the same thing. So, no, they don't.
Ork melee is definitely the leading cause of ork losses. Melee is such a core mechanic in EC, everyone has to use it in matches. Even Heavy gunner classes have to desperately fight for their survival vs air melee that are trying to take the heavy guns out. As far as weapons go, orks pretty much now have everything space marines do. Even extra unique stuff like: Poison grenades, a giant 1 hit kill cannon, several pistol options, a rapid fire plasma cannon. They dont have the plasma gun/pistol or the ability to equip a shoota on their support but most of their weapons are pretty on par with space marines now. I dont believe the shootas are inaccurate for a second, I watch live gameplay and play orks myself and I nail people spot on with a ton of dakka. A big problem im noticing with orks is that they suffer from animation issues. Such as the Loota's windup time for firing their HB equivalent weapon, or the time between when you do a dodgeroll and then aim or shoot. Animation problems can cause little speed bumps in the overall gameplay that slow you down. In a game like EC that's the difference between victory or defeat. I mean look at the eldar right now. Basically the same weapons as everyone else, but totally rock in melee and ranged combat because their speed allows them to play smoother and more precise. Stats wise and gear wise im not seeing a big problem. (other than the fact that half of the necessary early game weapons are locked behind requisition purchases) Here's hoping that ork melee is already fixed and coming in patch #24
I am fine with da orks, only faction that really need a look at is the Eldar.. what a load of baloney
