I haven't bought anything yet. I wanted to try the power klaw and it's 40k req. With the base classes I got my ass handed over to me so much while trying to level up that I just bought everything I could orky with RTC points (zzap gun for harkus sniping, plasma deffgun to rack up kills). On average I'll earn between 2000-4000 xp per match, which means between 1000-2000 requisition. so that's between 20 and 40 matches abusing RTC weapons and never playing a capping class. If I play a shoota, a stormboy, a slugga or painboy, I'll earn between 0 a 1000 xp so between 0 and 500 req per match. A shame, my favorite class is the slugga, but a slugga without a kwik or dakka slugga and without at least axe level weapons will die to a knife fight. Too chicken to lose my hard earned RP on random loot boxes. So waiting until I can try power klaw. Until then, I just farm kills with a loota. Reluctant too, but I want to actually test new weapons (power klaw, cannon deffgun and the shield), so I need to resolve to cheese and not caring about winning.
So the power klaw has no fast attack. Just heavy attack. This means anyone swinging wildly at you like an idiot will beat you every time. Also d bash they WILL recover first, so there is that too. Still on an ambush you can hit a marine halfway across the map.
Two people in game with Power Klaws confirm it has no fast attack. F'ing lol. PS power fist has fast attack, I just tested it with the relic fist from the store.
I'm about the same rate as you. I tried a crate but it just gave me the standard def gun. What a waste of req. What's the point. I was just trying to same up for the club. I stopped playing because since hotfix 1 I zero out at the end of the match. Everything is zero. I'm just eagerly waiting for the next patch.
Orks are not the doom and gloom many would have us believe. I do frequently win on my Ork. That being said, when we lose, it's a crushing defeat usually. Orks have some legit problems to work out: No evade attack- this is a SERIOUS hindrance to real melee ability and a big reason I lose a lot of duels. Pitiful lunge distances on all attacks- back pedaling MARINES can get away from me no matter what weapon I choose. Power Klaw- no fast attack is fine with me but this thing needs to break weapons faster. I'm doing RPS with only Rock and Paper right now. Give me something to balance that. Ork Hiboxes- I still don't think these things are right, we clang off eachother SO much. It's really prevalent when fighting Eldar and how hard it is to register a hit on them instead of your buddy.
No its not alright. Look mabye you have not fought someone who realizes it yet, but I have. Once you KNOW your opponent has no fast attack, you realize you can spam your fast attack and break every power attack he does. Also d bash wont save him because you recover faster in the first place, or can just roll away.
I really worry about the future of Gimp races with this system. Orkz are losing across the board so we are naturally getting much much lower EXP than everyone else. I feel like most of us are under equipped with most players still forced to use the default loadouts because most orkz arent winning and other factions basically farm us. That aside. People have pointed it out, our melee is Sh*t. Poor lunge range across the board and a seemingly slower recovery time. Good luck fighting eldar as they can dodge backward and power attack further than an ork power attack. Ork dbash is terrible with a tiny lunge range. The choppa doesnt feel right. The hit sometimes doesnt register Also, has anyone used the ork shield? Its glitchy as hell. If someone uses plasma, autocannon, or a fast weapon with heavy attacks you will be stunned locked until the shields breaks then you die. You cannot roll or move, you are at their mercy. The ork shield also tend to sometimes not block melee at all and we have to pay 20k for it! Cover is broken too. Orkz cannot use chest high cover. You can shoot over it and get free head shots. Orkz are slow and have huge hitboxes, As an ork, you can rarely disengage from a fight. Once you are in a fight you either win or die. Orkz need more staying power to compensate for this. Orkz lack ability to effectively fight swooping hawks, autocannons, and HBs. We can't sneak, and we can't effectively snipe. There are a few exceptions but HBs usually win range battles. We have to rely on getting close and unleashing hell, but that is difficult and often you lose most of your HP before you are in effective range. The shield is OK but again if they use plasma or any other heavy hitting weapon, you get stun locked and die. Hawks just glide freely until one accidentally gets too confident and we shoot the git down. The only thing that may be OP for Orkz is their Plazma Loota, which only a very few amount of people have because of box RNG. Orkz need fixed across the board. We were almost eliminated from Orkhona within only 3 days!
If they roll away sprint attack them. If they keep light attacking, keep Dbashing, you will break their weapon. If you've sprint attacked them and they get squirrely, put a Slab Slugga round or two in their face and the fight is over. I know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying I win every melee situation, far from it, but there are work arounds and strats to make Klaw work.
I am afraid of the snowball effect that might occur if Orks are not fixed by launch. No one will want to play them, effectively killing the faction. This cannot be allowed.
I'm a bit dismayed by the amount of people fine with powerklaw having no fast attack :S. In a world where everyone's melee is based on a rock paper scissors system, it's really hard not to be allowed to rock. I guess I could accept it if our melee had something special to it. A powerfist is better, it has a fast attack and can clang, but we are the melee faction? eldar banshee can counter any powerklaw user because they are fast and you can't clang against them. You can hardly use a power attack because the range is abysmal and you will be outrunned. We have no mechanic to account for that famous 2 attacks on assault or charge bonus (tabletop I know, but still, banshee have a scream, why don't orks get their own flavor rather than a toned down version of a powerfist). Our melee is nerfed, and I don't see how we are a melee focused faction short of, our melee is still better than our mid to long range shooting. It seems to me any flavor the orks get are things that nerf us in someway: -dim witted slow as hell in melee with a worse version of a powerfist as our top tier melee weapon. -piss poor accuracy and short range -smaller stature and shorter reach Now, we have no charge mechanic, no speed buff while hitting in melee to account for more animalistic savagery or no AoE hit in melee if the enemy stacks on you because we do wider cleaving axe movements when we are stuck in melee. If at least our way of fighting with powerful but slow movement would mean something, like being able to hit many people in melee because of the slow and wide movement animation. There are so many things that could make us more flavored with some added power. Sure eldar are fasters than orks, so are marines, but if we go all by lore we orkz are fucked because even in melee we'd die in droves to them simply because we would hit last, if we happened to survive. At least eldar have no "axe" equivalent, so you can use axe to beat them, but power klaw being so iconic, it feels bad that it can't even do 1/3 of melee and is relegated to tank busting only, when even the powerfist is better, when it really shouldn't.
