Even if that's the case that's a huge issue. Because IIRC devs have said that orks are supposed to be the melee faction, meaning we'll use our pistols more than other races. And if those pistols are locked away by the RNG Gods. well, I'm trusting you can see the issue with this.
I agree with all points and can verify through my experiences on live with my guild Da 'Ard Waaaghboyz! As many of them are posting here. Ork melee seems to be inferior in terms of range and speed, while if this was compensated for with damage, it could be worked around. However we seem to lack several "advantages" that our disadvantages are supposed to bring! The Waaagh mechanic itself is exactly what is stated above, as it often only triggers when the Orkz are winning. Perhaps a Waaagh can happen every 5 minutes into a game for one minute durations. Until of course it can be properly baked into the Warlord's tool kit. @BrentEllison , @MichaelChan , @NoahWard , is the current iteration of the Orkz meant to be representative of whats to come?

The painboy is awesome. Poison melee attacks, poison pistol shots, and heal bombs. If it's worse than the apothecary, which sure, okay I guess, then that stinks but apothecary is also pretty dang good right now too. I'll admit having a boltgun and effectively a poison knife with sword durability is pretty legit, but the sicky slugga is coooooool. Painboy used to blow but it's actually A-okay and really neat now. Brent made some good suggestions with the sicky pistol and sicky bombs. Just needs a painklaw!
With the state of things in this patch, everything orky just feels absolutely horrific. The melee system feels gimmicky, my melee weapons are effectively locked behind a disturbing 20k-40k Req cost and/or RNG, the melee system cripples us (as you mentioned), and not to mention everyone seems to made out of tissue paper in this patch. (Jesus Christ, fucking Striking Scorpion 1-shots full HP Space Marines... WHAT?!?!). At this point, I'm just sick of the game. Which breaks my heart. I was holding out that the patch wouldn't be a complete train-wreck, but it feels like the took one step forward and 3 or 4 backwards with this patch. :/
remove buying weapons unlock weapons with advancement points let us buy with req what mods and weapons skins we want. No rng loot boxes this isnt tf2 or dota2 cmon.
if the current pace of the game is even slower than what we are playing, exactly how many matches does it take to buy one weapon? I by virtue of doing several matches have gotten to level 3.5 in that time I have accrued 8500 requisition. is the game design to really grind with the same loadout for aeons just to get a singular unlock? perhaps if there were 2 or 3 "base" variants to choose from, aka default shoota would get 3 primary weapon choices, 3 pistol choices. and from there the shops ludicrous prices for weps would be more acceptable, as it is. to get ANY different weapon its going to take aeons, or...buying the appropriately special 'skinned' weapon with rtp. hopefully though due to the extremely rapid change, the amount of req being awarded will be tweakd to be not fricking awful!
At the moment, the orks have no strengths. And most of all I "happy" when players of other factions come to the topic of our suffering to comfort us : "guys! Yes, you are all good! Play! you fun to play"
