As a dedicated ork player, I've noticed several "issues" with orks compared to other races. I've personally played a fair bit of chaos also simply to ensure my point of views aren't biased. This is also coupled with the input I've received from other players. Please try to keep things civil. 1) Orks melee has a strange stutter after every action. Even our base choppa has the attack speed of what feels like a power axe. This makes our melee generally slower, which in the current iteration it causes them to almost lose against everything. The power attacks are the biggest culprits. 2) Ork melee also has improper clanging mechanics. I'm finding that knifes are regularly clanging and breaking our weapons of higher tiers. 3) Ork melee (notice a pattern?) has MUCH shorter range than other factions. A lot of space marines chaos or otherwise are complaining that eldar can simply walk backwards to avoid their melee. Well the space marines (both kinds) can do the same to us. 4) The WAAAGH! mechanic is strange. It only effects the last 5 minutes only if the orks can actually manage to not lose near instantly. The amount of games I've played with orks it mabye triggers every 1 out of 4 games? Orks need help in the sense of stop losing rather than a "win moar" button which it currently is. I don't think I've actually ever seen the WAAAGH! effect change the tide of a game. 5) Ork shooting has significantly less ability to do damage at long or medium range because of the fact that we have terrible accuracy compared to other factions (which is fine) but we don’t have the damage or rate of fire to actually compensate for the terrible accuracy to compete with other factions. 6) Only a single ork pistol in the shop. Considering we're supposed to be mostly slugga boys, the inability to choose our pistols is kind of a big deal. 7) Stormboyz can fire the pokkit rokkit, and then get stunned by it seconds later. It also doesn’t do anything extra if you charge it. It’s simply a waste of time. 8) Heavy Bolters are absolutely broken still. They don’t have a firing delay. All Ork loota weapons and even some other ork weapons have a huge delay before firing. For a close combat race a delay is a HUGE issue. We just don’t have any counter to them. 9) The painboy is simply an objectively inferior apothecary. All of these things and perhaps more are affecting the laughably win rate against other factions. If you don't believe me than before the patch today the orks had been reduced to about 5 areas on the world map against ALL factions. Thoughts?
I agree with everything except the painboy. The painboy is god tier once he's kitted out. Sicky Slugga is amazing, and singularly justifies the class.
My guild painboys say the sicky slugga was removed bud. *Edit* Just confirmed it myself. I unlocked everything in the painboy tree and there was still no sicky slugga in the store.
Don't worry. They will make orks worse and then we will get better. I have complete faith that things will eventually get good...and I have complete faith that they will eventually break again.
Yeah the firedragon is a great class. It can right at the beginning destroy any vehicle with speed!. Next patch: fire dragons start with shuriken pistol and knife only. Have to luck into a fusion gun in a box. Good luck!
Just gonna say the shield is a godsend against all these bolter scrubs. It can take enough rounds to get in and the pants wetting begins for them.
All the mastery Advancements are still there, so surely the sluggas have to be obtainable somehow... Since only the six-shoota is in the store, maybe the other ones( including the sicky slugga) can be found in crates?
