Not trying to rattle anyone's titties but you have to wonder just how blinged and gaudy they're going to let the Aspiring Sorcerer get, even in the top tiered items, when you'd have to imagine the cap would be the Sorcerer/Lord Hero class' regalia. Imo it'd seem goofy having your AS ever look like an SL. That would be true of a Chaos Lord and the Traitor too. Somewhere between these would be sweet for me in EC: Real men don't wear robes anyway
Twas merely trying to show the Sorcerers glory to those that may not be familiar with how different a Chaos Sorcerer looks than some mewling mage. I don't imagine we'll all look like the epic level sorcerers. However those spiky helms and the Egyptian plumes should be added. Personally I want mine to look like some backwater savage, a daemonic or wolfen mask would surfice. No robes though either, but maybe a nice cloak made of Astartes skin, hopefully from a Salamander. The black would go well with all the crimson
Wasn't arguing, just raising a curiosity that's been bugging me: What happens when the grunts look like lords I hear Blood Angel skin leather is particularly supple and free of body hair.
Why does Fabius Bile have a coat made out of human skin over his power armor? Because if you had a labcoat ,made out of human skin. wouldn't you wear it?
While I'm totally down for Tzeentchian war covens and the like. I'm still a tad wary of what their interpretation of the sorcerer is going to be. Also Doombolt is a generic undivided power it should not be just for Tzeentchian sorcerers. Everyone should have access to it. I too agree with this but we'll just have to wait and see.
Heck some Slaaneshi sorcerer's wear their foes instead of robes and what not. I'm all down for gaudy and ostentatiousness.
Well, there actually is a very good reason but it takes some explaining. *Deep breath* The reason why cloth is incorporated into Chaos Sorcerer armor is the same reason they carry around so many trinkets, the runes and sigils woven into the fabric generate a protective layer of psychic energy that resist both the perils of the warp and physical attacks. Sort of like Orks, the exact patterns vary from person to person because they believe in different things and Chaos runs on faith. Their focus changes their reality, and if they believe a certain combination of runes will protect them, then it might very well. Of course there are also countless tomes on the subject which also provide their own runes which may or may not be grounded in some secret language that protects, like Enuncia. There's also the idea that sometime robes may not be made of cloth at all, psychic hoods...for example...are merely very light metal with crystals attached to generate a protective field. It depends on the sorcerer, but generally the ritual and care put into a sorcerers robes may pay off with very real beneficial effects.
I Agree with all of this but perhaps a few maelstrom abilities as well so if some people want to be really aggressive they have to take caution that they might harm their own forces.
Huh, didnt know there was so much robe dislike within the ranks of Chaos. Personally i would really go for a greatly tattered one, for that extra comfy feel when im turning people into festering mulch.
