I thought they were going to show sorcerer model with force weapons. Sorcerer carrying chainsword don't look very appealing. Waiting for psychic abilities and force staff next time, hopefully :).

true, as much as we all enjoy seeing the new models as they roll of the production line... a simple screen capture video would of sufficed (similiar to that shown for the raptor) to demonstrate it rather then watching the "aspiring sorcerer" in gameplay when it was just a reskinned apothecary without its powers or its weapons

Just finished watching the reveal, well not too pumped since we basically saw a horny Apo.

Some things to bring from this, 4 ability classes confirmed:
    -witchfire
    -novas
    -blessings
    -maledictions

    Witchfires:

Think this is basically what many offensive minded people in here asked for, and i think it will indeed fulfill its role as a good direct DPS. I have to remind again that Brent is again very correct in his assessment of the fact that you will not be as offensive based as a Tac/Raptor. Cause you have Perils and Warp Charge to worry about, your powers even if good damage wise will be affected by these plus probably not be hitscan. Compare that to a hitscan weapon of a Tac who can also just reload willy nilly and shoot up things, and the Raptor who just flies around and eats peoples faces, its obvious to anyone that its logical to state that an Aspirant will not be as offensive based as the others. He is not supposed to be by design, even if he has witchfires that have good direct DPS output.

    Novas:

Seeing this as another plus in the "Aspirant wont be a helpless baby" basket. People come to you or surround you and you unleash a nova to do something nasty. Lots of good potential.

    Blessings:

Well lots of possible goodies here, one can go all day brainstorming all the neat buffs Aspirants could have. Just looking at some examples of what Banners will give its a good thing to know they want varied types of blessings all around. And with Brent stating something around 5 buffs/debuffs max on a character i can see a good support build possible for those who really wanna get into the "nurse" role.

    Maledictions:

This is where that Curse of Flies comes in and the before mentioned Poison in livestream #1 surely. This is the one im waiting most to see. Also tons of posibilities here for every god and undivided.

One thing that left me a bit confused and on my toes was the answer to the Force weapons, more precise that Brent numbered Force swords, axes but didnt mention staves. I truly hope this was a case of forgetfulness, we truly need to check this.
  4. Watched to the Q&A section where they talked more about it, the category list of powers is promising.

Oh and I see Djemo's listed them.

Taking those into consideration and the bit of melee, I am less concerned than I was prior.

It seems as though there isn't much to worry about in terms of availability of offensive powers. Which is good, since I want Doombolt and whatnot if i'm dedicating myself to Tzeentch etc.

Djemo is right though, Sorcerors and Warlocks for that matter by nature are less offensive than other classes, at least in my eyes, simply because they come with the possibility for utility/support for one and because there are a lot more conditions placed upon them being successful. For example Force Weapons being stronger but using Warp Charge (something i'd compare to channeling on Warframe).

I know a bunch of us Warlocks were waiting to see how they would handle Psychic Powers but I guess we'll have to wait a little longer.

  6. They said for like 2-5 minutes how as you level up you will get to look all cool and stuff like you've played longer and have experience, they said multiple times that Sorcerer they were playing was a "Level 0 just logged in Sorcerer" I believe they said about 4-5 times lol =P

  7. My biggest concern with the direction of the Aspiring sorcerer is the amount of offensive spell options. Only "Blessings" sound like they come close to being a support option. If Chaos doesnt have a proper healer support that will make combat pretty unbalanced. I'm sure as development and gameplay testing continues theyll figure it out in the long run, mainly just voicing my opinion of the now.
  8. They mentioned it ALOT, kind of like the word Pre-Order!
I think the basic apperance is fine, but I cant help but feel like the appearance reminds me of an aspiring champion more than a sorcerer.

  9. That's rather debatable, they certainly aren't offensive in the same way, and yes that PotW will cause pause that is not a concern for those who can simply reload their weapon. I would think such a thing would favor a sort of Hit and Run playstyle (of which is my plan anyways) as of course you need to recharge. But, it remains a question of how effective the offensive spells are, and the availability of weapon skills. My main concern is the dexterity combined with limited weapons option being exasperated by a deficiency of offensive spells.
Overreaction is an inevitability upon the forums, wouldn't want the reveal tarnished by people crying out that the Sorcerer doesn't look like this

When it's only a matter of time before you can be as fabulously stylish as well.

Well as far as I know any Sorceror, particularly Aspiring ones (at least on tabletop), have access to a single power, which since it is randomly determined may be offensive or supportive (buff/debuff) depending on God Dedication and a Force Weapon.. that is all.. and in fact Aspiring Sorcerors only come in units of Rubric Marines.. but that may be besides the point..

Compared to the TT I think our Sorcerors will pack a heap more offensive punch, as we have the option of taking more than one power. As for the availability of offensive powers.. Their words lead me to believe that you will be limited within your chosen God/Undivided, but with both Witchfire and Nova on the table I wouldn't say your options will exactly be short. Whether they do as much damage as a Bolter/Lascannon/Whathaveyou might be cause for concern.. but I think simply by virtue of the fact Nova is available it may not be something we have to worry about since you can suddenly effect multiple enemies by being in proximity to them, which is not something any other class so far can do..

Moreover, i'd see Buffs/De-buffs as secondary offensive powers where they give you an advantage in combat (Say by increasing melee/ranged damage) where they either directly effect the Psyker or make your enemy easier to kill.

All of that said.. I can see your concerns. Also I think that last picture is a Rubric Marine^^.. but you know it's only a matter of time before you get all the shiny tassels and robes and tomes of various doom.. Personally i'll have fun building up to it^^.
