From the RTS description on the Maelstrom Axe: "The thin blade makes the weapon less effective for blocking and defense, leaving the Sorcerer more vulnerable against melee opponents." It's also classified as a "Support (Force Pick)" there. Based on that I'd say I wouldn't want to use that axe. There's no trade-off benefit given to balance the less effective blocking. But then given the Force Pick in description it could penetrate armor better? But it's a force weapon already. And the thin blade + blade design doesn't support the Pick classification. I am confused. I guess the powers need to be excellent because weapons wise AS doesn't have much choice in 1h weapon + pistol. While Warlock has a spear and I'm assuming 1h weapon + pistol to choose from. EDIT: Warlock has 2 weapons in the RTS the Relic spear & the Witchblade. Both are 2-handed so maybe the Warlock can only use 2-handed weapons + powers while AS uses 1h weapons + powers.
Yeah thats kinda funny isnt it. Warlock getting a spear whilst we arent getting a staff... Think i might raise this up to Brent at one point (when i have the chance). Or well, someone else can in the livestream questions thread or the community Q&A.
Well dont forget...game isnt done yet...if enough of us want that staff for our sorcerer we might be able to convince them to add em. I mean when the access comes, I intend on fully working through the sorcerer and everything it has to offer. And honestly if I find I cant really go toe to toe with anyone fairly, I'm going to ask for change. ...I suppose also...if I just destroy everyone with out them ever having a chance...I'll ...let them know too...probably....eventually. I'm sure I'm not alone here either, As I read this thread I am wililng to bet when it comes time, the AS will be one of the best tested classes by launch.
Yeah, I want the sorcerer to be as realistic (if I can use the word in this circrumstance) to lore as possible. Of course they should be balanced but yeah... I want sorcerers and to be all evil
