Yeah, the evidence of non-psychic sorcery is very widespread in both pnp and the novels. For example, Kor Phaeron was never said to be a psyker yet he throws around bolts of darkness, is capable of flight and zaps Guilliman with lightning in Know No Fear.
Also here's a quote from The Radical's Handbook:
"The arduous study and strength of will required to become a psyker of ability drives many who lack the diligence, opportunity or the inate talent, to look for what some foolishly see as an easier path to power and even those with very limited or no latent psychic ability can become powerful Sorcerers If they have the will, intelligence and stomach to wield and pay the price for their dark lore.Despised and feared for their unnatural practices and the taint of the warp that lingers near them, sorcerers are often recluses. Like all who gaze too long at things which man was never meant to see, most sorcerers eventually succumb either to insanity, mutation or the daemon’s hunger for there are no more treacherous paths to power known to mankind." pg. 168
Emphasis mine. Also, claiming that you don't regard the pnp as canon (which is idiotic considering that a lot of fluff about Inquisition, Deathwatch, etc. comes from the pnp) can't be viewed as a valid counterargument because the books were published under the IP of Warhammer 40k so it is just as canon as any codex/novel until GW explicitly says that it is not.

Before you rip each others eyes out, who exactly are you correcting?
I havent browsed the thread in awhile, but i dont recall someone not knowing that the trappings of a Sorcerer need not be tied to your innate psychic power.

Well, there was one eldar who claimed that it is impossible to summon daemons without psykery and that Enuncia is only a "weird little head-canon" of Dan Abnett which is not supported in any other piece of fluff and that the Word Bearers omnibus can't be taken seriously.
My aim in the most recent posts is to ensure that everyone who reads the thread doesn't get false information and misconceptions about sorcery since the codexes are pretty tight-lipped and a significant amount of non-chaos fans are in the dark about the subject. I am a perfectionist at heart so it is important to me that every fan of Wh40k gets proper and accurate information about sorcery in this thread. Which is why repeated debunkings of false theories and comments are necessary, imo.

Well then Sweet Nurgle, we just lost half of the unique 40k lexicon then. Try reading a 40K novel without finding the word Vox. Go on, give it a shot. All Dan, that was.

  5. Sorcerers' Steal Souls,

So i listed an execution in the ideas section a while back where a sorcerer can open a warp rift under a downed player, and daemonic entities drag them into the warp. Well, what if they implemented a sort of mana charge tied into sorcerer executions, maybe as a progression option. I think it would make a lot of sense for just how one would refill "warp ammunition."

Id rather not tie executions as our warp charge regen ability.
Being one of the ways sure, but definitely not the only one. Cause everyone will want to execute people, if they dont they will shoot at them just so they can gain the XP, thus denying you the execution and the warp charge regen.

I rather like the idea Brent threw around, basically regenerating from people dying around you, a nice and surefire way to regen. Cause well, everyone will be dying all about...

I can see your idea with incorporating it into the executions living in harmony with the on-death regen though.
Deaths would slowly regen warp charge, little by little, whilst an execution would top you off to full.
But we are far from seeing the Sorcs do their work, it might all be overpowered. Eager to see how it all pans out when we get to see them in action.

I wouldn't mind them taking from the Fantasy Flight books about this sort of thing. In the Black Crusade books they've got different ways to go about casting that have different effects.
Psykers don't need to chant and motion to use the warp, perhaps adding in that bit of ritual effect charges the spell in exchange for making the cast time slower and easier to interrupt.
Corpus conversion is an interesting one, letting you use your own blood for power. So especially good for Nurgle Sorcs, being able to take your health and either charge the spell or gain warp charge from it, etc.

Okay... so basically theres some info that just popped up in the Angry Joe video.
Not really confirming anything but Miguel starts going on how you will be able to field a Thousand Son Sorcerer.

But primarily what caught my ear, was that he said you would be opening Warp Rifts and have deamons pouring out of it. I truly dunno what to think of this, Miguel did know to go overboard before with things that arent confirmed (like Brent deconfirming the whole picking of weapons from the ground), but this would be a true game changer here.

Just imagine the awesomeness of being able to warp in deamons to help the cause of Chaos....im getting goosebumps just thinking about it.
