  1. Annihilus Nevan Recruit

Eldar characters needed! PM me if you'd like to join and want a quick update on what's going on in the RP!

    Introduction:

In the northern fringes of the Ultima Segmentum, a fleet belonging to the Rogue Trader known as Kitus drifts in orbit around the only planet in the system capable of supporting life. The fleet is silent; dead, seemingly deserted. There are no signs of battle, and if one was to perform a scan on the surface of the world, they would find no signs of intelligent life or psychic signatures.

Loss off communication with Kitus' fleet happened months ago. His location was unknown, and many of his allies assumed the worst. However, two weeks ago, nearby Imperium systems received a chilling, mysterious, mostly unintelligible distress call:

"... Unfurled death ... Urgent aid ... Sanguis System ... Silent Screams."

Through heavy static and interference, those words reached the ears of Inquisitor Annihilus of the Ordo Xenos, an ally and respected friend of Kitus who quickly enlists powerful aid to discover the fate of the long-time explorer; including two Cruisers and three Imperial Guard Regiments, as well as multiple proven individuals who could aid in his mission.

Meanwhile, on the surface of the continental, Earth-like planet Sanguis, feral tribes of Orks wage small wars against one another. They are mostly primitive, but thrive by scavenging working technology that has been there for as long as they can remember, without any real explanation for it's presence. Most are content to kill one another, but some look up and dream of looting the ships whose shadows fill the sky.

And finally, from an ancient Webway gate in the deserts of Sanguis' western lands come several forces of Eldar, who seek to discover the source of potent Psychic tremors that only their most powerful Seers could feel.

    ----
    Current Events

Two of the three planetary ork-infested continents have been invaded by foreign forces in a span of less than 24 hours. The westernmost continent, a place filled with desert and rocky canyon, is home to a secret Eldar Webway gate and an amassing force of Eldar under the overall command of the Farseer Elderos. It is also home to Big Mek Bigzzap and his Ork Boyz, whose camp has just come under assault by the Eldar Autarch Saranthir and her strike-force, whose objective was to collect something the Orks aren't aware they have in order to help the Farseer discover the source of a horrifying psychic tremor that resonated from the planet after the disappearance of Rogue Trader Kitus and his fleet.

After a savage battle, the Orks, including Bigzzap and Kilsaw, managed to push the Eldar back after a brutal battle in which the possibly tide-turning Eldar Aircraft was destroyed by an air-focused Electrical Storm. Saranthir and her surviving force has now retreated several kilometers in order to regroup.

Meanwhile, a squad of six Inquisitorial Stormtroopers secretly watch the area after a stealth insertion.

On the central continent, Imperial Forces, led by Lord General Militant Reval Ekamdryw and Space Marine Commander Aurelius have set up a planetary beachhead and are currently fortifying the position in order to have a strong position on the planet surface. They are aware of the Ork presence on the planet, but not yet of the Eldar.

Aurelius, his Space Marines and a force of 50 Imperial Guardsmen are planning to move towards one of three strange structures they spotted in orbit in order to investigate, while smoke rises from the nearby Jungle, caused by an unknown phenomenon.

Finally, several unintended participants have made planet-fall, including a Dark Eldar Kabal and his small force of pirates, an Imperial Freeblade Knight now working with Imperial Forces, and an unknown Tech-Witch who could hold any allegiance.

    Rules:
    1) Please provide a character profile. There's no skeleton to fill in, but your profile must be accepted by me or another GM before you can post. =)
    2) Please adhere to site rules and also common RP etiquette (meaning no authotting, godmodding or metagaming).
    3) It's a freeform RP within reason. There is no strongly set plot direction, just some ideas I have. Still, I would highly appreciate people discussing their RP ideas with me before putting them into fruition, especially if they're large and could significantly change the course of the story.
    4) OOC and IC is on the same thread; this one. Please make sure to make your OOC clearly discernible from IC and refrain from spamming OOC! :)
    5) I'm not super stringy about being as accurate as possible to 40k lore. 40k, after all, is an incredibly complex and large fictional universe. That said, please don't do anything outlandish that doesn't fit into the 40k system. This is still a 40k RP. :)
    6) This RP is story-driven, which means no tabletop or pen-and-paper systems.

    Game Masters:
Game masters enforce the rules and are also capable of accepting characters, depending on how large the RP becomes.

    My profile

    Name: Annihilus.
Age: With many decades of experience under his belt, the Inquisitor is at least 40, possibly older.
    Gender: Male.
    Race: Human.

Role in the Imperium: Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos (current Ordo).

Appearance: Annihilus is a tall, well-muscled man renowned for his battle-scars, all of which are on the front of his body, rather than the rear, a testament to his 'never retreat' philosophy. His hair is light, long and messy, placed into a ponytail behind his shoulders. His face is almost always covered in thick stubble, which some jokingly say once shaved off the lips of a woman who tried to kiss him. His eyes are brown, though his right one is permanently deformed by a scar that runs through it from forehead to cheek.

Annihilus wears a common theme of black and red Inquisitorially decorated clothing, including a robe, cape and coat over a suit of power armour that gives him protection beyond the standard soldier on the field of battle. He also wields a Inferno Pistol, and a long, one-handed power sword.

    His left hand is cybernetic.

Personality: Stern and unyielding, but also diplomatic and shrewd. Annihilus has a solid reputation for not only being able to properly handle delicate situations, but also for leading troops on the battlefields of the 41st millenium against many of the major threats the Imperium faces. Those who do not respect him more likely fear him.

Powers: Beyond his decades of battle experience and highly intelligent mind, Annihilus also happens to be a potent psyker with degrees of skill in both the biomancy and pyromancy disciplines.

    History: Will be revealed.

Age: 666 (at least she says so)
    Gender: Female
Race: Eldar Corsair [Sky Raiders] (Former Craftworld unknown)

Role as Corsair: Pilot of all sort of Crafts

Appearance: Venus is sleek like most Eldar, is around 2 meters tall, has slightly red eyes and usually wears dark purple lipstick. Usually wearing simple robes beneath her light-blue Sky Raiders armor.

She has a Knife on her belt and a Shuriken Pistol, for ground missions usually utilizing a Shuriken Catapult. Despite being former Craftworlder her skin is almost as pale as of her Comorrite cousins.

Personality: Mysterious, flirting, adventurous and playful.

    History: Will be revealed.

  4. Annihilus Nevan Recruit

The warp opened and released two ships into the system; both Imperial Cruisers, partnered to mutually benefit from the other's strength. That was all they brought, a scout force, capable not of prolonged battle, but of watching the system until such a time where the Inquisitor who commandeered them chose what step they were to next take.

They weren't exactly defenceless, though. Aside from the common armaments and armour of Imperial cruisers, split between them were three regiments of Imperial Guard taken from nearby systems. Tens of thousands in number total, they were hardly a force capable of engaging in prolonged warfare, but they would suit Annihilus' needs perfectly.

The Inquisitor himself was situated on the bridge, where he could look out over the planet dubbed Sanguis, and see for the first time the fleet of decadent, lifeless ships that sat in it's orbit. They were deathly silent, unmoving all except for the slow drift around the large planet's orbit. But why? How? Did all those stationed upon them abandon the ships? Where would they go? Preliminary scans showed no intelligent life on the planet below, but without ships the forces belonging to the Rogue Trader couldn't leave the system. Was it the warp? The ruinous powers of Chaos? Surely, as a potent psyker, Annihilus would be able to detect a troubling presence if such psychic energies were rampant enough to cause the disappearance of the crew and passengers of an entire Rogue Trader fleet.

For the first time in a long time, the Inquisitor had no idea what to think. He stood there, watching the hundreds of ships of various sizes slowly drift by. An hour of silent contemplation must have passed before one of the ship officers spoke to him, asking what he wished to do next.

"Summon my entourage, The Lord General, the Captains of the ships, the ranking Imperial Psyker and all those with positions of power who might aid in this endeavour. I would have their advice," he spoke, to which the man nodded and left to do his will.

On the planet's surface, the western continent was growing red with blood. Thousands of Orks did battle upon the desert canyons; life of all sizes swinging cleavers and shooting guns wildly into the tribes of their enemies. Huge, guffawing laughter and tiny squeals of enjoyment drowned out the noise of those dying, as Greenskins of all sizes cleaved, hacked, sliced, crunched and shot their way into the enemy ranks. The battle was completely even, done under the scorching sun of midday with huge, maze-like canyons on both flanks; north and south.

Several warbosses were there, and it seemed as though alliances were forged and broken with every strike as the multitude of clans gathered and large, mighty orks sought to further their own power and standing.

In the north canyon, the ranger watched with silent content. The Greenskins would trouble the Eldar little, as long as they could remain hidden and quiet. Several kilometres behind him, the Eldar forces began to creep out of the Webway Gate, it's leaders here to do not battle, but investigation.

(Note: Many things are purposely vague. Players are encouraged to tell their own stories! This is just a simple setting to start with so people can jump in. :3)
  5. The Strike Cruiser Defender of Obsidia exited the warp within hours of the Cruisers. On the side of the Defender could be seen the insignia of its chapter, the Sable Swords. On board the vessel was 40 space marines (not including crew) arranged into 4 squads under the command of Force Commander Aurelius. 2 Tactical squads and an assault squad made up the primary force, with the remainder being made up of Predator crews (4 marines), and the remainder were the Force Commander and his squad of Veterans (OOC: not a command squad, just a squad of Chapter Veterans). Force Commander Aurelius towers over his brothers at nearly 8 feet tall, with short brown hair and green eyes. He is clad in Artificer armor adorned with the livery of his Chapter (White on black, with the emblem being crossed white swords). On his hip is sheathed a massive power sword that crackles with purple lightning when its field is active. As the warp portal closes behind the Strike Cruiser, it opens up a vox channel with the Inquisitor's ship.

"This is the Strike Cruiser Defender of Obsidia, under the command of Force Commander Aurelius, here to assist Inquisitor Annihilus with discerning the fate of the Rogue Trader Kitus."

  7. <Saranthir>
As the Eldar forces march through the webway, a lithe, purple-haired Autarch watches her small force march by, a contribution on the part of the Craftworld of Alaitoc towards this expedition. She sits atop a magnificent Fire Prism, her stance suggesting authority, though she has only been an Autarch for less than two decades, her piercing golden eyes pickup the details of her command, for this would be her first battle command with these soldiers.

The Ranger hears her voice through his communicator: "Scouts, how close are the Orks? I have been instructed to deflect them away from our main force."

    <Bigzzap>
"BIZZNESS IS BOOMIN BOSS!" The Spanner Boy guffawed over the thud of a primitive mortar, the Big Mek watched with some disinterest as the improvised shot flew out. Skulls, rocks and even the odd explosive all landed out there somewhere, slaying Orks from all sides. Bigzzap turned away from his position over the canyon. "Course it iz! None these gitz know how ta work a proppah spannah or hoze downz da gubbinz like us!"

"NEXT BIDDAH!" Another Spanner boy in a snazzed out squig skin vest waved his slugga about, pointing it toward a tower of grots holding up a sign with symbols of Teef and Scrap on them. "IZ GOT TREE FITTEH, CAN I GET TREE FIFTEH? TREE FIFTEH? TREE FIFTEH TO DA GROTZ OVAH DERE! CAN I GET FOUR LOADZ? FOUR LOADZ? TREE FITTEH GOIN ONE, TWICE ZOG IT ITZ YOOZ GRAB IT AN GIT!" A carpet of Gretchin ran forward to wheel off the Mortar, a Runtherd whom had been overseeing them grunted and began working out the details of payment.

This was his business and it was a damned good one. Being one of the few Tech-Savy gitz on the planet put Bigzzap in a certain position of power that let him do just about anything he wanted without fear of much retribution. He and his krew would find the biggest scrap and start firing off their deadly creations into the hordes of spear and choppa wielders, signaling that they had arrived and bidding could start. Greenskins from all sides would flock on their bosses word to try and claim whatever Dakka or Flash Choppa he had for sale to give them the edge, and it kept the Big Mek fat and fed.

"NEXT UP IZ GOTTA- BOSS WOT DA ZOG IS DAT FING? " The sales-Ork yelled over in short order.

"Dis 'ere izzuh beaut! Iz call it me Big-Weird-Zappa! " He pointed to a ball crafted from welded metal beams, through the gaps a Weird-boy whom had been wired into the contraption was clearly visible. "Give 'im a prod an 'E goes off zappin everyfing! Even burst 'eads! " Neglecting the bit about those bursting heads often being those of the buyers Big Mek left his Spanner Boy to handle the rest, knowing he was about to rake in even more teef and resources for ever greater inventions.

((While I appreciate the fact you time to submit a profile, I'm a little confused as to why a Phaeron Overlord would be single-handedly going around slaughtering Eldar, especially so early in the RP. There may be a chance for some Necron action later, but for now I don't see it working. Sorry. :( ))

    Inquisitor Annihilus.

As the VOX channels from the Strike Cruiser opened to the Inquisitor's own Cruiser, Annihilus looked surprised but none-the-less content. He answered the communications, pressing his hand down upon the broadcast panel as he did so.

"Commander Aurelius, I appreciate the help. You and your battle brothers will come in most handy if we find trouble, but unfortunately that is not something we are currently expecting. Our preliminary scans of the planet and Kitus' fleet detail no signs of intelligent life and my own psychic abilities do not warn me of any strong manifestation of the Warp that could have caused such a mass disappearance. I'm afraid you and your marines may be wasting your time on this mission, though, as always, I would be honoured to have you remain. I would be lying if I was to say that I did not have a bad feeling about this situation.

"I have summoned the ranking officers and other men and women of interest to the bridge of this Cruiser, The Adamant, for a council on how to proceed with the situation. Feel free to join us, Commander."

He released the button, then stood up straight and peered out towards the planet. As he watched, the huge battlecruiser that had been the Rogue Trader's flagship slowly moved from one edge of the viewing platform to the other, then disappeared entirely. Perhaps it was worth boarding the vessel and looking for any signs?

He decided to continue waiting for the arrival of those summoned to the meeting and in the meantime, ordered the crew of the Cruiser to rescan the planet. Perhaps, on the second time, they would get lucky and find something. Anything.

    Unnamed Ranger.

The Eldar Ranger began to whisper, relaying what he saw to the Autarch in command. "Several kilometres to the south still; the fighting has not yet spread to the canyons themselves, though at this rate, even more will show up."

His cameleoline-weaved armour kept him hidden, appearing as a mere blur against the backdrop of the sun. He used the scope of his rifle to scout out the Ork positions in front, to try and make sense of the chaos.

"The Greenskins seem content to kill each other. There is little point bothering ourselves with them, Autarch. To fight them would simply draw them towards us. I do have some worries, however - since we arrived our Scout communications have been unreliable. It's as though something is trying to jam us, and despite our Farseer's warning of Greenskin activity, our scanners are unable to detect anything too far beyond what my eyes can already see."

He took a moment to pause, then finished. "Rangers awaiting your command."

  10. Bjorn Hardrada Bjorn_Hardrada Well-Known Member

    Player name: Bjorn Hardrada

    Name: Kulsmash Bigdakka

    Race: Ork

    Class: Mekboy

    Equipment:

kustom dakka: being a mekboy, he has created a very odd (for an ork anyway) but very effective weapon, he wears a large backpack, which is connected by tubes to the large barrels attached to his wrists (it is literally just a lot of assorted caliber bullets stuffed in a box with tubes stuck in the box, because ork logic), he has 2 barrels on each wrist, 4 in total, one barrel on each hand is painted red (to make it shoot faster), and one barrel on each hand is painted yellow (to make the rounds have a chance of exploding), it may not be accurate, but it can put out an obscenely large amount of fire, and almost never runs out of ammunition, and in the rare cases when he does, he can simply put some more bullets in there, any caliber, even bolts if he finds them

choppa (he wont use his choppa as much, as he is better at using his dakka)

    assorted armor looted from corpses

    assorted trophies

    squig skin cigars

Appearance: looks like a basic ork, but its somewhat taller and broader than the average ork boy, somewhat around nob size

personality: loves to tinker and experiment with things, and to make crazy devices, he might even love it more than fighting, but he would never admit that, as that would just be un-orky, and besides, he still loves to kill things...

OOC: is that alright? do i need to change it?
