It's like Space Marines, it's cool grind.
More killing more skills, more bonus. Unlocking weapons, armor etc.
This is not a mmorpg, I don't want to spend my life in the grind for all classes.

  3. The "grind" is a good thing. Especially for a title that's going to have a shelf live of several years(ie EC) versus games like BF or COD that only sustain a healthy player population for a year to 6 months until the next COD or BF goes live.

Games that throw gear and levels at you, practically giving away gear and experience.... That's fun to you? Personally I can't stand low challenge, mega reward type games. A few hours, a couple of days or a couple weeks you've unlocked all the gear, reached end game content with nothing left to work towards.

Being max level, owning all the gear then having to wait 3 to 6 months for the next DLC for new content and gear isn't my idea of fun. Very few games these days even have a real grind. A vast majority do not. Gamers are so spoiled these days with death in game having zero impact on gameplay, nearly instant gratification on gear, levels and achievements. I'd love to see theiir reaction to an actual grind ala Everquest where you can spend several months just to gain 1 level. Oh and death sure as shit has an impact on gameplay in EQ. Even worse it seems most game developers are all too eager to churn out these underwhelming, zero challenge games.

I hope to see a steep learning curve with EC. I hope to see a very complex game world that's very unforgiving and extremely challenging much like the 40K universe. Where death has meaning, with no fast travel via suicide, where earning titles, gear and ranks means something and requires a worthy endeavor for every single accomplishment. A year after the game goes live I want to have a myriad of goals, gear, ranks and accomplishments to strive towards on my main character.

Grinding is not challenging though its just boring! And wasnt the end-game in EC supposed to be the battles themselves?

  5. 50 hours? And Nathan is saying he's planning on 10 years(hopefully more) of evolution for EC. Seriously Brent 50 hours?? That may work in Battlefield, Ghost Recon or COD because there's a new Battlefield, Ghost Recon or CoD hitting the shelves every 6 months. All quick fix, instant gratification, no attention span required type games where kids flock from one game to the next.

So with 50 hours of gameplay required to unlock everything on my main character/favorite class what will I have to strive towards unlocking on my character after 6 months of gameplay? After 1 year? I love you guys but I think you guys need to seriously rethink 50 hours.

Reaching the 50 hour mark on ones main character and favorite class will be the death knell of this game with the current plan. PVP and RVR is great and all however once you lose the impulse shopper type players that leave EC when the next big title hits the shelves we need long term character progression in place to sustain the players that stick with the game.

I think this is only for skills unlock. You need another X hours to unlock equipment.

  7. I can PVP battle online in any online shooter. I can experience massive online, open world battles playing PS2, Eve Online, or WWII Online(Battleground Europe). If you think hardcore players that stick with one game for years at a time will stay interested in that game when they've unlocked all there is to unlock on their favorite class and character after 50 hours of gameplay I'll ask you what game have you played for 3 or more years? I played 2/3 of the games I listed above on and off for over 10 years and they sure as hell have more than 50 hours of character content to unlock.

Unlocks=/=replayability in my opinion !And last time i checked those 50 hours were for class progression not about cosmetics ,those can be more grindy?
