If it was facing Covenant I guess we'd have to be but we're facing other Humans who'd possibly have similar weaponry.

  9. No, there's just a very limited interest towards the Halo universe and this RP would require you to be heavily in character which is a pretty big turn off for 90% of the population in the Tavern because, and I mean no offense when I say this, you're all a bunch of casuals. Not many people here are willing to go heavily into the detail and follow it.

I refrain from doing the Covenant era because without a heavy use of plot armour, you'd essentially be remaking your characters after each mission due to the high casualty rate. To put it in perspective, an ODST Battalion was expected to have 98% KIA when deployed. A UNSC Marines Battalion was expected to have a 100% KIA when deployed. Spartan formations were too important to use in frontline combat outside of extremely important AOs so most theaters of war would never see one, only hear rumors of them.

During the opening engagements with the Covenant, the UNSCAF lost over 60% of its entire military force. In only a matter of months, over 200 billion military casualties were sustained, countless fleets lost, and military installations completely obliterated. This is ignoring the untold and exponentially higher portion of civilian casualties as each Human planet that was discovered was glassed. The Human-Covenant Wars was a galactic scale genocide as calling it a war would imply both sides had an equal chance of winning. Not to hate against the lore, but statistically and realistically, Humanity would of lost if it wasn't for the events of Halo 2 and they almost did.
