Visual joke: I thought people that were into 40k was into Horror. I mean stuff like Tyranids and chaos is taken right out of Horror books... Saved for later Don't mind the WIP's they are ... just there..
With the general outlook of 40k, it's a very grimdark setting - the Horrors of Chaos, the swarms of Tyranids, the thought of Cultists behind every door and in any regiment - the whispers of the Gods seeping into your mind. The fear of losing faith - the terror of the Necrons' indestructibility and capabilities, the terrors of the Dark Eldar's weapons, In general, 'horror' sort of fits very well with 40k. In its own way, not being up for that limits a fair bit of it, from a realistic standpoint: it's not all super awesome hardcore face-to-face battles. Some might be you being ambushed in the jungles by Ork Kommandos, others may be your platoon being slaughtered in horrific and deafening ways by Night Lord Chaos Marines, or simply the fear of a Lictor or Genestealers coming onto your position.
Upon my weapon do I swear, Undying allegiance to the Imperium of Man. To protect and serve the Emperor of Mankind. To protect His dominions. To protect His subjects. Unto my dying breath ave eternal, From this life, and unto the next. May my deeds prove my worth, May my honor prove my character, May my blood be the ultimate price, So that the Imperium may never fall. Ave Imperator.
