Hey Uriel I have a question about the tau. What would happen if they saw a daemon. Would it be the same reaction as a human and they go isane? Also do living saints and legionaries of thre damnned technically count as daemons and would have a similar effect on those that were against them?
Indeed but let's say the tau were just getting home from work and for a surprise party a bunch of daemons, living saints and lregion of the dammned planned a surprise party for the tau. When the tau got home they all jumped out of there hiding places so the tau couldn't avoid not seeing them. Mostly I had a idea for something but want to know if xenos can go nuts from seeing daemons. But wanted to know if the tau would out of my mind just wondering a question about the blue skins. Also I am wondering hey zeth do volkites counbt as lasers or more as a melta getting a few ideas for some homebrews and I am wondering if a alliance with the adeptus mechanics might give some neat special relics for a cult or order
Well the Tau don't have a presence in the warp (or at most they barely do), so the chance of them being corrupted by the chaos beings are slim to none. Now whether or not that has any baring on their mental state I'm not sure. Is there any connection in 40k to psychosis and corruption from the warp?
What you say regards corruption is true, your logic is flawed. Presence in the warp is different than how corruptible you are. For example regular humans like adults and children without any sort of special powers but rather being homeless hive people in the slums have also low presence in the warp. But they are suuuuuper corruptible. The possibility of corruption is lack of faith in something in the first place, which is why the Sororitas are almost incorruptible - because their faith in the Emperor is so strong and pre-doctrinated that their mind is already filled with belief. The Tau are so obsessed with the Tau'Va - the Greater Good - that they are not suspect to corruption. They are far more logical and if any Tau could be corrupt it's those living with Farsight, because their faith might be shaken. Similar to Guardsmen who keep seeing over and over how their friends die in combat and eventually be like 'If the emperor was real, so many good guys wouldn't die!' and crap like that. So now let's also again take into consideration that a Tau only lives to an age of roughly 40 - I forgot where I had a source on that but I read once that they are pretty much not getting much older than 40 standard terran years naturally. They don't do genetical enhancing because they know life and death is vital - plus it's one of the strong points of the Tau. That's also why Shadowsun and other commanders are being put into stasis to be kept alive when not needed. Sooooo what would daemons / chaos gods want with people that don't get much older than that? That's for the gods of chaos that live forever like a blink, lol. It would make no sense at all to even bother with the Tau as they don't even have the numbers or corruptibility to make it worthwhile. As for the psychosis and the corruption of warp - yes. People scratch their eyes out because they can't bare it, they literally go insane unless very strong-willed. People also tend to forget that even Astartes who look a daemon straight in the face will have nightmares afterwards - just they can somewhat cope with it or make it a slow corruption over time. And even the raw stuff of the Warp itself - it's presence can make people sick in the head. Because if the warp can be felt in realspace it means it bleeds through which means that even if daemons cannot materialize - their voices come through.
I guess that's why the Orks aren't easily corruptible due to their unshakeable belief in Gork and Mork. The only instances of chaos corrupted Orks I know of are the ones that mistakened Nurgle as one of the Ork gods, though they're a special case.
Where such great knowledge of corruption mechanisms stems from? I think you're a heretic and should be purged! By the Lord Alphari....khm, that is, Emperor of Mankind and Holy Terra, I sentence you to execution through purifying flames of the Grey Knights! May the God-Emperor have mercy upon your foul soul for I have none! The sentence is being carried out immediately!
not true. Khornate orks are much more a thing. Khorne's Stormboyz - Militaristic Stormboyz who have adopted Khorne as the patron of their warrior code. Orks are rarely stupid enough to start worshipping nurgle as Gork or Mork, he isent their kind of violent. In the comic series "Blood quest" there is even an ork that has been possessed by a powerfull deamon. But yes orks are hard to corrupt
