"M- Me? Alone?" Too late, the other man was gone. Oh well, he would try his best. If there was already a source of flame somewhere that would make things much easier. If there was then he would look around for some candles or something, perhaps a loose board which with the aid of a curtain scrap might be brought to burning. If there was no fire, then he would be forced to look for matches, a tinderbox or if all else failed simply draw aside the curtains to let more moonlight in.

''You could try bashing the door open?'' @Vulpas, @Casavay As Wolfker and Terrinel inspected the basement, they were alerted to a sound from one of the crates. A scurrying noise. The pair moved to investigate. Wolfker leaned in to listen, but was blasted backward by something. He landed hard, back first in to the stones. Something darted past Terrinel. A small shape, barely more than a blur in this lighting. _____ As an aside, expect the pace to pick up soon. The others who were interested have either taken too long to reply, or have made a character sheet, so there's no reason to keep things at a slower pace (I wanted everyone to have a fair shot at RPing before making any vote for leader).
Wolfker- "BY SIGMARS BEARD! THEIRS SOMETHING IN HERE!." wolfker yelled as he got up as it wen't Terrinel he wen't up the stairs the door was open he had to try to warn the others he yelled up the stairs. "THERES SOMETHING ELSE IN HERE WITH US!" he yelled.
Braner looked at Daveth, "That's the thing, I don't think even with our combined strength we would have enough to break down the door. That's why I asked for some more people to help us. Perhaps there's someone here who's experienced with carpentry so that we can just remove the hinges from the door. Otherwise a few more men would help break in the door in case-" Then a yell from the basement turned his attention to the entrance of the lower level. Branner readied himself in case anything but the scouts downstairs popped out of the basement.
With a bit more light he could at least see what he was doing, though still no easy way to open the door presented itself. Jürg thought about using a piece of furniture as a battering ram, but with the lack of it on the top floor they would have to find something downstairs. "Got a table or cabinet down there? It'd make smashing the door a bit easier." Even as he spoke his muscles groaned at the thought of continued use. From the rather loud shouting in the basement, he could gather that something was wrong down there. Jürg grabbed the old floorboard he had wished to use as a torch and tossed it down the stairs. Perhaps some brave soul would wield it, or at least pass the makeshift club down further.
''What the hell was that?'' Daveth exclaimed. He led a group of the survivors down in to the basement. A small, strange looking creature was standing in the corner of the room. Daveth tried to move nearer, but it darted past him, underneath his legs. @DaKaptin ''That's a bloody goblin,'' the dwarf said.
Following the group into the basement, Branner was at the back of the pack since he was also one of the smaller guys there. When the goblin darted past Daveth, Branner lunged at it, knowing he was probably faster than most of the people there and had the best chance of tackling the little critter.
Despite his speed, the goblin's slight frame allowed him to dodge Branner's lunge. Bran landed, chest first, on the stone floor. ''What is a bloody goblin doing down here?'' the dwarf asked. ''Friends, the creature is unarmed, as are we. Let us not try attacking it, and perhaps see what it wants,'' Daveth said. ''I mean, if the rat can talk, perhaps a goblin can at least understand us.
"So does anyone know how to speak its language or fit speaks our own?" Wolfker asked as he stayed back watching it and getting back up. He got back up with a hand on his side somewhat out of breath from the yell but he watched and stayed on guard. "So can you speak our language?" Wolfker asked it from his postion
