Having followed the rest of her group upstairs, Terrinel stood and watched in amazement as the dwarf tore down the wooden door. Of course, dwarves were dwarves, but she had thought that the weakness which had taken hold on all of them would have affected his own ability to just tackle a door to pieces at least for a little bit. This could only mean two things - either this dwarven fellow was incredibly resilient, or the wood was incredibly weak. The former would be a good thing. The latter... not so much.
"Considering we've done a lot of exploring already, and there's little we can do in our weakened state, should we trade the glittering stuff for food at our next opportunity? Just... a suggestion", she asked into the round.
  2. Alma elma looks at her "why yes i think it would be a good idea..... we could buy newer things depending on how much its worth" alma elma starts playing with her tiny fire ball to keep warm and lights the fire place trying her best to make the fire a bit bigger and you can see her visibly straining to make the fire of adequate size then gives up huffing out of breath letting the fire grow on its own and when she catches her breath ahe starts playing with a tiny fire ball again

    The New Day

Following a night in which sleep came uneasily to most, the sun rose above the cold streets of Ashport. Slowly the group stirred, except for Magnund--who had taken first watch, and was slumped by the front door.

''Alright guys,'' Daveth said, brushing himself of the layer of dust he had gathered from the floor he slept on. ''We need to get busy today. Our stocks of food and drink are nonexistent. We have no medicine, money, or any means to defend ourselves. Further, this place is in a bit of a state, so we're going to need tools and materials if you can even hope to repair it.''

His belly growled. He tried to remember the last time he'd eaten a meal, not some slop fed by his captors, but real food.

''Any ideas on where to begin?''

As the sunlight stabbed at Branner's eyelids he winced then began to stir. As he opened his eyes a series of panic attacks almost overwhelmed him. First thing that startled him was the weight on his chest and legs, as he had forgotten for a moment of the girl he had more or less dragged into the city that he had wrapped himself around to give her warmth before he slept. After the terrifying thought of something rather large eating him as he slept faded in the light of reality, Branner's second fear was that the stilled girl had died during the night, and now he has a corpse on top of him. Her slowly rising and falling chest dismissed that notion however, as Branner's pulse lowered he could feel her heartbeat close to his. Thirdly, and this feeling unlike the others persisted, was the mixture of elation and fear that accompanies every young man whenever a nonfamily member of the opposite sex is within close proximity of him.

Hoping to slip out from under the girl as to avoid any more awkwardness that already existed, Branner attempted to sit up and then get up from under the sleeping form on him. Unfortunately the girl had an iron grip around Branner, and the best the young hunter could managed was to sit up against a nearby wall while the girl continued to slumber. As his eyes adjusted to the light, Branner could see that the girl had a head full of reddish brown hair that ran down to her shoulders. Between the hair and his chest, her face was hidden from Branner's current view. Unsure of what to do (since he's never really been this close with any females before), Branner adjusted his position to one of more comfort and placed his arms around her waist.

After what seemed to be hours (though it was probably just a few minutes), the girl began to stir. Branner, almost drooping off to sleep again, was suddenly alerted by a sense of fear, excitement, relief and a dozen other feelings to the waking young woman. This maelstrom of feelings paralyzed the young hunter, and he was powerless to move or even speak as the girl awoke. After rubbing her face on his chest a few times, the girl lifted her head and stared at Branner, whose face was less than a foot away from hers.

The darkness from the previous night did not do the girl justice. Branner felt his breath slipped away as he examined the girl's face. While her frame was a bit gaunt from the small amounts of food she had eaten the last few days, her face was more or less the unaffected, saved making the edges a bit sharper than usual. The reddish brown hair framed it perfectly as it flowed down. Her thin pink lips parted as if to say something, but no sound came out so far. But what captivated Branner were her beautiful emerald green eyes. The large green orbs gazed questioningly, innocently into his grey ones. Within them he saw sadness and hurt of a hard life, but still the purity of hope and curiosity. He took a minute to find his voice then creaked out.

"He-Hello." It was only after the greeting that he realized he still had his arms around her.

He was now standing near near a wall using it to help himself stay up. "I suggest we get some food to help us fuel ourself for the days. then buy some equipment." Wolfker said

Jürg slept on the top floor, with a makeshift pillow made from door debris and curtain scraps. He fell asleep quite quickly, not that it helped him much come morn. His back and shoulders ached from the hard floor, neck stiff and pained, but what hurt most were his legs. The muscles seemed to be a flame they hurt so much. One of the first things he did was simply massage some life back into his limbs.

As the courtier walked out of his room, he couldn't help but hear shifting sounds from one of the other rooms. Another thing he liked about this place, the fact that they had rooms. Anyway, it seemed he was one of the last ones to wake and they couldn't have any of the youngons sleeping in. He stuck his head through the door and was about to yell something about the lazy new generation when Jürg saw in what situation Branner found himself.

Somewhat taken aback, the older man rallied his senses and smiled, winked at Branner and closed the door quietly. It seemed as if the girl was just waking up and hadn't seen him, probably for the better. But so early in the morning? Oh well, no use trying to stop them, love always finds a way.

Quietly walking down the stairs it indeed seemed as if he had woken up late, most everyone was already up. "I don't know about you people, but I'm absolutely parched! If this city is worth anything though, there should be a well somewhere.", after a moment he added, " And the young Branner may take a moment coming down."

Terrinel had fairly much crashed into slumber on the top floor, her head resting on the bare wooden planks the rest of her body was lying on. Unlike most of her companions, it seemed, she slept quite soundly, snoring the darkness away, twitching once, twice in her sleep but generally invoking the illusion of contentment. Of course, this was somewhat untrue, her aching stomach, dry mouth, roaring headache and the dust thick in the air causing Frostwreath to actually feel less fresh than she did when falling asleep.

Heavy eyelids blinking a few times before lazily sliding open to reveal tired, reddened eyes ended the Elf's sleep. Coughing out the dust she'd just breathed in, Terrinel moved to her feet groggily as the sunlight lanced through the windows and walls, adding to the unpleasant pain in her eyeballs - it was not just that they had become accustomed to the darkness, no, the inherent darkvision owned by her people made the night-to-day transition a quite agonizing endeavour at times. All of her muscles burned like fire with yesterday's exhaustion, but sore limbs had become somewhat of a status quo for her already. As the familiar noises of life reached her pointy ears, the Druchi chose to make the odyssey down the steps, one shaky foot at a time. Somewhere in her peripheral vision, she noted some sort of human mating ritual, but chose to ignore it, assuming her sleep-addled sleep-deprived mind was playing tricks on her.

"A good morning, all things considered", she said to Jürg and the others who had come together in the ground floor, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes in doing so before addressing what she'd overheard Daveth say: "My master always said, 'You can save funds on material, but never on tools'. One might guess I share that view. As I said yesterday, we can probably sell that glittery jewelry? For food? Because if you give me some thing to fuel me, and maybe a few capable hands, I would not be opposed to start work on the most grievous wood problems here."

Knocking on a nearby wall, then sliding a slim, pale hand across it, she turned to look at the wood in a mixture of appraisal and understanding, nodding to herself tiredly. "I mean, it's not a ballista, but wood's wood, and the tools are much the same."
  9. Alma elma just stands up and starts streatching and smiling seeimg how almost everyone is here "ahhh todays going to be just grand i just know it! Ik those pieces of jewelry should be good enough to pay for maybe a meal or two for us " she acts pretty childish considering their not forced into labor, slaves or anything of the sort shes just excited to see a bunch of "friends" all together in a room living amd breathing and not judging her "and eventually when we all make enough money i can refine you all weapons. ...well only metal weapons not bows or arrows or staffs but anywho i am quit the skilled black smith i could make your weapons and you wouldmt have to worry about getting a faulty weapon" alma elma's smile now is beeming like a beacon of happiness and joy

As if dropping out of a trance, the girl suddenly pulled away from Branner a few inches, just far enough to create some distance between the two. She brushed her scraggly hair behind her ear.

''Good morning,'' she said, her voice barely more audible than a whisper.

''Yes, we'll certainly need food if we're to survive here,'' Daveth admitted.

''I agree with him,'' Magnund said. ''Without drink, we'll be dead sooner than later. Perhaps we can get our hands on some good ale?''

Trust a dwarf to think of his ale, Daveth mused.

''Alright then. I'm going to take this jewels and see if I can't fetch a pretty penny for them. From there, we can buy some food, and something to drink. So, do I have any volunteers to accompany me? Maybe two or three folks?

OOC: I see no reason why folks shouldn't know at least some of the group's names.
