It was with a small tinge of pain that Temvero stood from his sniping position. The cuts had been deep. Nodding to Satoshi, who at the moment was busy, he handed Yumi back to him thanking her for her service, and went to retrieve his own weapons. "What's the plan, Sato?" He asked when the Ronin finished. However, his thoughts were on a small servo-skull that he had spotted flying towards them. If he remembered correctly, it belonged to a Human named Fenix. He scanned over the machine, wondering why it was here. On a hunch, Temvero began to try to reconfigure his Vox to be able to connect with the Skull. @WanderingJester @PorOborosCain
<Sigismund, Vulpin, Amraphel> + <Satoshi, Temvero> + Dart "Don't worry about your friends outside, my men already located them and are en-route to assist them. Scarab swarms are usual around here especially when something big goes down, but we don't really care about it. If we are careful, they won't even notice us and remember how you got in here? The tunnels spread throughout the entire Alexandria and everything is connected, including the Pyramid," Swarog gave Sigismund a cunning smile before went to answer his other questions. "There were no Astartes aboard our vessel because our vessel right here was a supply craft, ferrying food and water processing plants that didn't require Space Marines to operate. As for psykers, we have none and as for my men, at the moment you can count on 60 soldiers to help you fight the aliens." While the trio was busy talking, another interesting thing happened out in the dunes where Salamander and Ronin were recovering from their fight. A single child, boy no older than 12 years, waved them over, he coming from the direction of the city. The boy didn't speak much in language they might have understood, but from what they gathered he wanted them to follow him over to a nearby barn... (OOC if you wish, you can emote reaching the underground settlement yourself - the entrance to the underground tunnels is inside the deserted barn, there another kid is waiting you to lead you to it). <Carlarth, Edd, Rocky, Fenix> While they talked in the solitude of their cells, Carlarth could feel a strong presence approaching their position, from somewhere outside the pyramid. Instead of an image, she saw burning glare of light searing at her temples as if a vengeful spirit was coming to exact its wrath upon the infidels.
"well well the light is coming to see a shadow" as she spoke carlarth moved to the back of the cell and held her hand in front of her and tried to concentrate any warp powers she could into a single bright flame to try and mealt the lock
For a moment, Satoshi contemplated on taking the kid's head off with a shot. After all didn't they get the go ahead from command that all targets were fair game? However, when the kid continued waving without another necron wave or human attack coming the Ronin looked over at Temvero and slung his rifle. He pulled out Mamushi and told the Salamander (@BadDo9 ). "You're more injured than me in the last battle, though I have no idea how since I was the one in close quarters. It matters not, but right now if you can give me cover while I check this kid out I'll be grateful." The Ronin closed in with the kid, though before he got close enough to talk the child ran off, then turned back to see if the astartes were following them. Satoshi voxed the Salamander, "Follow at a distance and keep cover on me. If this is a trap no need to for both of us to die." Then the Ronin continued to follow the child along the edge of the city. Eventually they arrived at an abandoned barn, where another child awaited them. They didn't say much besides a greeting to each other, then both ran into the barn. Satoshi voxed Temvero again, "I'll check this place out, though I would suggest waiting outside again for the same purpose as before. No need for them to kill two astartes with one barn." Following them inside, there seems to be a tunnel leading underground. "Some sort of tunnel entrance here, I don't know if I'll be able to give an all clear since signal might be jammed down there. I'll leave it up to you if you want to come down with me, though if you don't and I don't come back out in an hour or so, try to get a lance strike down on the city." With that the Ronin waded his way into the underground passageways, hoping to find some fleshly (and friendly) faces in the Emperor forsaken city.
As so far unknowing if his vox was configured to the servo-skull, Temvero nodded silently to the Ronin before re-drawing Serenity and following a while behind Sato. "Stick close, Dart." he tried to vox to the skull. @PorOborosCain As Satoshi waded down into the barn, Temvero took a defensible position near the door. "Travel safely, brother." he told Sato before settling in to wait. He was always ready for an ambush, and also to dash inside the barn if things got tough outside.
<Feron, Draconion, Brandt, Volorox, Dorallius> Volorox found his place amidst a myriad of cables high upon the ceiling, looking like some bat who was taking a moment's rest. Sister Brandt took a position near the left side of the entrance, the muzzle of her flamer ignited and the weapon ready to do some proper purging. On the other side, their Librarian hunkered up, awaiting for the enemy they all knew was coming. In the back behind the broken cogitators Feron stood overwatch, him having the best position out of them all since he could react fastest and had biggest line of sight. Parallel to him, Excoriator aimed down the sight, keeping it cool and businesslike, just like usual. Thankfully, aliens didn't let them wait for long. In the darkness of the passageway leading into the Bridge they could spot a faint green glow, slowly becoming bigger and bigger, the signature of gauss weaponry familiar to every single one of them. After first glow, there came another and another. The Necron Warriors came at them in their slow and inexorable advance, like a tide of grey metal crashing against the defenses of Man. There were many of them but the Team had a chance to attack first...(OOC ok here's the deal - you are attacked by around 20 Necron Warriors with gauss rifles, each of you can kill 2-4 of them with your next post before they reach you). <Ixtab, Zeth> OOC don't need to wait up on each other anymore, one of you who posts first can emote reaching the other group, encountering no Necrons until last moment of course. If not, I'll do it tomorrow
<Dorallius> Dorallius opened fire with controlled bursts at the grey tide of the necron warriors. Necrons where a foe not too hard to miss, but what they lacked in agility, they made up for with grand toughness and sheer deadlyness, even their lowest weapons have been known to take part power armour with ease. He aimed for the head, it was not the best way to keep them down, given their regenerative powers, but it was one of the most effective ways to take them out for a time. His bolts flew true, crashing into the living metal of the necron, at first battering their metal faces, before the heads burst apart from the hail of bolts, and within a short time, 3 of the necron warriors had been taken out. And with luck, some of them would stay down.
With Dorallius' fire at his back, Draconion barrels into the Necrons ranks like a boulder rolling down a hill. Knowing full well that the rank-and-file Necrons are deadliest at range and in ordered ranks, he decides to take the fight to them and disrupt their coherency. Fleeting towards the Necrons on invisible telekinetic skates, he catches stray gauss bolts on his swords, straining his precognition to detect the most dangerous attack vectors and parry them an instant before the bolts reach him, dissipating deadly Necron superscience with Immaterial power. Flinging a concussive plasma blast into the Necron ranks to clear himself a space, he gets well and truly stuck in, laying about left and right, bisecting three constructs in the blink of an eye. Feeling a rush of incandescent ancestral hatred, he glances to his left and sees the drakeling latched onto the head of a construct, biting through the necrodermis like sheet tin and then immolating the warrior'warrior's head with point-blank plasma breath.
Zeth nodded as Alpha stood up,arming and priming his weapons to a deadly buzz of radiation and power field.Standing so close to a damaged Vanguard is very dangerous, but standing so long as Ranger did...is stomach-lurching,as Alpha bathed him in the Breath of Mars. ++Alpha Ixtab...your holy presence will have my organic state deteriorate in approximately thirty minutes.I may need to keep at least thirty meters distance from you.++ Then suddenly Ranger`s vox-unit buzzed to life, the voice heavy with static buzz, but was it due to the discovered Soulless presence or due to the presence of the Vanguard`s holy aura, was a mystery to the Ranger. "Ixtab, Zeth. If you are reading this converge on our position but move with utmost care. Necron forces are inbound. May the Emperor guide your steps. Feron out." ++Read that Alpha Ixtab? We better move out,the Soulless are attacking! There is cleansing to be done!++ blurted in machine code Zeth,as he drew his Laspistol and with a head motion, gestured for Ixtab to follow him to Lord Feron`s vox-signal origin. Ranger`s inhumane agility and speed allowed him to reach the Bridge earlier then Vanguard, but his acute, predatorial senses also tracked down the enemy signature, thus Zeth kept his distance. With a small machine code-squirt (ooc:apraising Ixtab of enemy location and numbers) he sent to Vanguard he cut his vox-unit,maintaining radio silence until they engage. Sneaking down the large corridor that led to the bridge,Ranger`s acute optics could spot flashes of green energy. The battle has begun! Noting that,Zeth took the cover of the shadow in one of the recesed walls that was supposedly to be a statues alcove and sheated his laspistol. With a touch upon the handle of the venerable Arqebus,Ranger uttered silently the Rite of Activation, praising its Machine spirit from slumber. Initiating activation sequence, aktiva cons sequentia.Librius machina auroris dei. ... .. . Contact established with the Machine Spirit.Praise to the Machine God. Violent echoes, that could only be seen through Ranger`s binary, streamed behind his left eye, notifying him of his connection with the spirit residing in the holy metal of the weapon. His right knee bending,he crouched onto the metal deck, aiming down the scope of the ancient weapon, the long barrel of the Transuranic Arqebus extending to its full size for maximum payload velocity. The bronze 'cap' of the barrel reached out from the shadow of the recessed alcove, ready to eliminate the enemies of the Omnissiah!
<Feron> "Central mass Brothers, power cores lie in the torso not the head. " A propellant rich kraken bolt was birthed from a muzzle flash, sent hurdling down the passage where it skimmed just past Draconion's shoulder on a collision course with the jade glow emanating through a symbol vaguely similar to a four pronged 'T' on their foe's chest. With force enough to punch through power armor it made contact blowing out the back of the warrior and dropping it forward, tumbling onto its knees while its gauss flayer served as a sort of kick stand anchored against both floor and torn torso. Eyes flickering between a pair of closing squad markers representing their Skittari and enemy contacts Feron set his mouth into a thin line as he sent another round down toward the whirlwind of blade flashes and gauss fire that circled their Librarian, focusing on keeping his flanks clear another two warriors were put down as further courses of delicious death flavored kraken rounds were plunged into the living metal carapaces of the xenos. "Welcome back to the fold warriors of the Omnissiah. We're mopping up their Vanguard as we speak, move into position and watch for any fresh faces to the fray that might interrupt the slaughter. " Another bolt down range, another Necron sent convulsing to the floor as the last of its energies spasm violently across Necrodermis. "Watch your flanks, Wraiths or worse should be phasing in any time now. " It made the most sense, give them a small distraction force of warriors to march into their kill zone while other forces proceed through various routes, ones that other species couldn't normally traverse by standard means. So it was with four clean kills set that he returned to over watch proper, prepping for whatever may come be it from above, below or their sides.
