Deflection only to the shoulder, then returning to the center line and striking towards the body, a near perfect response. Immediately he stopped moving forward and froze, letting the blade tap him on the chest as his gambit had failed. "Oh dear, I haven't had this much fun for a while now! I now have no doubt that you will be a great warrior to fight along side, Satoshi of Edo." Recovering his weapon he saluted the ronin with a flourish before returning the blade to it's sheath, too soon it seemed, as Fenix had taken the insult quite badly. OOC: Gotta run! Angry bounty hunter just booked an appointment! @PorOborosCain "Whatever happened to 'sticks and stone's may break my bones but words will never hurt me'? If you wish to resolve it by a test of honour, then I am ready. But remember that being called a washout after 21 years devoted to training to be the best a man can be is a serious insult."
Ranger was disappointed by his lack of craftmanship and repair he could condone upon others. The vox-caster he has so ingloriously imbedded into the Alpha`s throat seems not to work properly. Replying in binaric,Zeth grabbed his Long Las from the table as the final ocular lens was modified and cleansed. ++By the Omnissiah...the Breath of Mars will eliminate completely your flesh.Yes...the device.Quickly...stand there,i shall engage the Rad cleansing servitor, then we will try to cater to your fleshform and malfunctions.++ Blurted Zeth as he pointed with his seemingly metal index finger to a small metal pad on the ground.Moving to a powered down servitor he started fiddling with it.Rites of Activation was spoken.
OOC: The funny thing is, I did read your post during my catching-up before making my own admittedly short one, but when I came back to reply to it, I couldn't find where you adressed Coatl and thought I just misread. So in my case it's not because of my 'injury' which is fine by now, but rather because I simply was unable to find the post again where your character was voicing his request. <Coatl> The Adept was dutifully working on the weapons, her mind completely focussed on the arms and the soothing of their often indignated native spirits. Assuming she would be unaware of her surroundings would only be wrong in theory; all figurative processing power of her mind was dedicated to this task, but the human mind could not shut out its sensory signals entirely. The Orthodoxy viewed this as a flaw. Coatly viewed it as an asset, for a machine that would ignore outside signals entirely could easily engineer its own downfall by not reacting to harmful signals when dedicating all literal processing power to one task. In short, she was aware of the Skitarius' request, and chose to ignore it out of spite and priority. Priority, because the survival of this motley crew didn't depend on the ability of one Skitarius to speak, nor was the desire for companionship of another the lynchpin of all reasonable strategy. No reason occurred to her as to why fixing a voice box was more important than repairing these guns. Not to mention that technically, a Techmarine outranked him. Spite, because Coatl viewed the Skitarii as the ultimate result of the Orthodoxy's self-mutilationist frenzies. They were certainly no Secutors, no, but unlike the Servitors, for who she felt something akin to pity no matter how illogical, there were examples of Skitarii who were self-conscious and enjoyed their states. At least, if the stories of the Ruststalkers were anything to be believed. Her intentional ignorance however came to an end when she was done with an autogun that was simply jammed (it was wise of the Techmarine to leave it to her, however, for the ordinary Guardsman's way of dealing with it only tended to aggravate the poor thing even more), and noticed Zeth fiddling with a Servitor in her peripheral vision, clearly recognizing his chanting, as well. "State your intention, Ranger", she said with human aggravation in her voice, in the tone of one who was more annoyed with her surroundings than she was used to. "I am hopeful you have a valid one for meddling with that unit."
Satoshi replaced the Power Naginata away, and bowed deeply, repeating the process of ending the match like he did with the first duel. "And you as well, Sigismund. It was my honor to have crossed blades with you," he said with the same calm, plain voice he used whenever he's in combat. Just as his regular expression returned and the grin came back to his face, a metal tipped wood bolt flew between the Ronin and the Knight. Satoshi jumped back slightly, raising his hands. "Whoa whoa whoa! Alright lady! I apologized didn't I? Sheesh," He replied, taken back by the agressiveness of the newcomer's entrance, "By the Emperor, someone needs a hug and a nap." Seeing as Sigismund looked like he was, er, "quite eager" to fight the crossbow wielding lady, the Ronin walked back to where he put down his sniper rifle and Power katana (again) and replaced them on their appropriate places (again). Satoshi then made his way back to Renate (@Uriel1339) and Talon, who were both watching the duel. "I'm sorry, has he been bothering you? He does that with all the pretty Sororitas on Terra too." The Ronin tried to take Talon off of the Cannoness's shoulder, but the Ventus snapped at the Astartes' fingers. Flinching back, Satoshi momentarily consider backhanding the Raven-Eagle, but decided against it. Instead he teased, "Well I guess I'll just be on my way then, seeing as you're having such a lively conversation with the lady here." Satoshi pretended to turn and walk away. Talon immediately flew over to Satoshi and began gesturing wildly, first at himself, then at Renate. Of course Satoshi understood everything, but gave the Ventus a shake of the head in disapproval, "Oh so now you want me to stay, huh?" He turned and smiled at the Cannoness, then remembered he still have his helmet on so that the gesture was pretty much pointless. "Talon said that he's of a species called the Venti. They are the apex predators of most of their natural habitats and considered royalties by other birds of prey in any area. They're also extremely adaptable and capable in combat. He forgives you for not treating him that way when you first met but hopes that you'll keep those things in mind in the future. He understand most of what you're saying." Satoshi looked back at the Ventus, "Is that all?" One more wild gesture followed. Satoshi smirked under his helmet, "he also wants you to know that he thinks you're a very pretty human and would make a much more pleasant companion than this buffon he's standing on." Just as he finished translating Satoshi realized what he just said. Turning to the Ventus, he yelled, "Hey!" But Talon, with a screech that sounded suspiciously like a laugh, took off already off of the Astartes' shoulder and flew up into the rafters once more, resuming his nap from before during the first duel.
<Shooting range\training area> OOC whoever wants it Shooting range that Temvero looked for was being located in a side chamber, next to where Ronin and Knight did their duel. There were couple of serfs at the moment there, using the spare time to train their marksmanship skills, shooting a number of makeshift targets. <Distress call> @Vulpas @lord-watchman Getting through the Orks was easy enough for a Venerable Dreadnought who was also a powerful psyker. As for reinforcements, it showed up being consisted of two squads of Stromtroopers who were being led by Gaius. "Alright, let's see what we have here," Howling Griffon nodded and they proceeded to the origin of the signal so they could do a proper investigation. (OOC feel free to do your entrance post). OOC also guys, believe it or not but we actually have 8 new chars that arrived during this intermission phase. I know I told newcomers to check various posts in this RP so they could get to know the situation atm, which I also wanna "spill over" to your chars. This means that I would appreciate if each char becomes familiar with our current situation via (bad) meta gaming - somebody notified your guys and you decided to stay etc. I know this is not the best solution, but my current stuff IRL prevents me from approaching each of those chars with my Chaplain and doing the necessary convo. Ofc, if you wish come by Marmaroth's side and feel free to talk about it.
<Armory> OOC stealing Angelous for a moment When @Loldoom Sigismund finally arrived in the armory, couple of tech adepts led him to what the Chaplain ordered them to give it to him. On his way, he saw Techmarine busy with his work, as well as three other new figures going about their business (@Casavay @Xaphen @High_Adept_Zeth ). Of course, this was secondary to him the moment Angelous waved a hand and pointed him towards a rather large box, not even saying a word. Servants opened it for him and inside, Knight could see something quite...interesting. It was some sort of a contraption, a mechanical thing that made to resemble something that looked like a horse, but not exactly. Instead of a horse's head, it had a head of an eagle (OOC keep in mind, everything is only resembling to it because it's not a perfect copy) and metallic parts beneath it and around it made to look like feathers. The other part of the body was somewhat different than he would expect of a horse, looking more sleeker, more feline. In any case, the "robot" was big enough for him to ride it, in fact it was somewhat bigger than Blanche. "We found it during our investigation of the Ork loot hoard," one of the adepts said, Sigismund seeing that his man was in fact, the same one who attacked him during his attempt at sabotage of generators, "It's some sort of a mount, the tech was never seen before. Chaplain said to give it to you, because you'll know how to use it. Activation key is inside the lock."
"First for what? Combat? I only fight the enemies of the Imperium." She did not even look at the newcomer, therefore was not known that she was being 'truly threatened' Renate simply observed the fight further, before it came to it's conclusion. @WanderingJester "Bothering would be the wrong word. Also I am not sure how many Sisters are stationed on Terra, truly, given that the Imperial Navy is perhaps more present there, along with the Adeptus Mechanicus, given that the Sororitas headquarters are on Ophelia VII." Renate smiled at the Ronin.
"Well they were there because there were some rumors of heretical movements amongst the more wealthy population there, I lend them a hand because their Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor thought their lead was worth pursuing. He was right. We had a good time." Satoshi shrugged. "So... anything I need to know about what in the Emperor's name is going on here? Or is this like a secret annual Space Hulk convention of random members from different parts of the Imperium that no one bothered telling me about?"
<The Sister> "I dwelled here myself, Astartes. So if you want to learn more, I suggest to approach Lord Commander Marmaroth and his direct retinue, rather than myself. For I merely serve His eminence by destroying the Alien, the Mutant, the Traitor. Along with an every fellow sibling within the Imperium, for we all are His children, making us all brothers and sisters." Renate replied dutiful and zealous as to be expected by a Sororitas, especially of the Canoness Commander rank.
"Ah yes, that response. Well I'll ask you again Sister when you've warmed up to me a bit more. Until then, good day to you." Satoshi bowed, then yelled up to the rafters. "You can stay here if you want Talon, but don't expect me to come looking for you for the next dinner-lunch!" With that the Ventus swooped down and landed on the Ronin's shoulder, not willing to risk missing food for a bit of nap time. The two walked out of the practice grounds, and into the shooting range. At the shooting range, Satoshi whistled a tone while he set himself up prone with his sniper rifle, then began firing at the targets. Given the range, he takes out each target's head clean off with every shot. Talon looked on passively, only prodding the rifle a bit here and there to try and correct the Ronin every once in a while.
