"Brother...Feron..." Temvero's eye flickered with what might be called relief. "I... by Vulkan. Remember you? Of course!" He smiled for a time, taking Feron's hand before his face turned dark. "It's a long story. One I hope to tell fully later, but..." He sighed. "Me and my squad were on a world defaced by Nurgle. We ended up on a Heretic strike cruiser, and I destroyed it, but not before it made a warp jump." His face turned even darker. "They're all dead, Brother... my squad. Their souls protected me in the warp. I carry them with me until I can rebuild the Hearts of Flame as true Sergeant. Until then... I am the Heart of Flame." He stayed silent, not looking at his elders' face, unsure of what would come next.
<Feron> Listening on Feron's eyes dulled to dieing ashes, not terribly bright these days with his age anyways it was still an obvious enough sign of his own chagrin at the news. "Quite the tale there, not the oddest thing I've heard nor quite so drastic as what you're about to hear. The lot of us have been declared heretics and traitors by the Inquisition, at least parts of it, and we're currently what we used to call renegades out to serve the Emperor against an Unholy Alliance of xenos, heretics and the minds that lurk within the warp. I can't say you've found salvation but, you've found friendly guns at least. "
Temvero took in this news, nodding his head silently for a moment. "Brother Feron... The last thing Torix told me... was that my part in the Emperor's plan has not been finished. If I have been placed here, then this is my part to play, and here is where I shall stay. With your blessing, of course." Having said that, he search about for his weapons, finding them placed by the door he had come in. "May I ask your assistance? My Armour needs tending, and I must see to my weapons. They... are not quite pleased with the neglect that has come as a result of my incarceration." He went to retrieve his crafts, planning on doting on them for quite a while... they deserved it.
<Feron> "Not my blessing you need Brother, that falls to the Chaplain, though you certainly have my backing. If you've any concern of being turned down I'm sure hunting down the Young Drake might be of interest, sure he would be glad to see you as well after the past few days events. "Smiling some the veteran gestured to their newly refurbished forge. "As for your equipment? We just got that one up and running, it's not quiet the beauty we had on the Angelfall but she'll get whatever we ask of her done. In the meantime feel free to meet the locals we picked up from our most recent pit stop, they're a fine lot, remind me a bit of our kin back home. " Setting the relic hammer low he hooked it through a workman's loop. "I myself intend to go do a bit of wandering, think our Brother Angelous- " Stopping to gesture at their Tech-Marine currently overseeing a quick inspection of the forge. "Had a point that there may be nooks and crannies worth investigating nearby. Comm channel Delta IX435 is currently serving as our open to all sources vox if you need anyone or encounter anything. Stay sharp Brother, we may have purged the Orks here but we're far from alone. "
"Thank you, Brother. Brother Angelous, I will be happy to meet you later." As they left, Temvero settled down in front of the forge to tend to his equipment, first repairing his armour, then moving to his weapons, cleaning them, calibrating them, lingering over them, always mumbling prayers to their machine spirits. He was so absorbed in his work that one could come in almost unnoticed, if one desired. Almost.
<Amraphel> What? Had that really just been the apothecary calling for help? And so close to where he previously saw the shadowy figure; surely this was no coincidence. Why was the apothecary venturing through those parts of the hulk anyway? Surely the oh so omnipotent Roboute Gulliman had, at a certain time in his life , created some unessercary rule about entering tainted hulks. Nevertheless, Amraphel resolved to rescue the Son of Gulliman, because if sirius died, who else could he argue and banter with? He was, however, no fool and he highly suspected a trap. The shadowy figure stalking through the hulk had probably captured the apothecary and was using him as a bait to lure Amraphel into a trap. Amraphel resloved to aproach the pin pointed location with utmost care. Slowly and with his guns held high and his guard raised he was slowly sneaking closer, eager to investigate.
-Volorox As Volorox wen't through the hulk searching he soon came across something odd with one of the walls merged with what looked to be a door on its side and was positioned near the floor. As he looked at it more it looked to be some sort of door. he attempted to open it for a moment finding it was somewhat fused with the floor he grabbed his Power halberd and began attempting to cut out a piece's of the floor as soon as he got enough out he looked at the door soon finding it to be part of a ancient ship possibly from the great crusade era. He only had a half of it out as he began. Trying to open the door. Only getting it half opened he looked inside and only saw darkness as he looked in he turned on a search light from his helmet. As he looked in he looked around and soon saw what looked to be skeletal remains. he couldn't tell of what much as he looked but he was interested. He soon got back to work slowly carving out the floor and taking chunks out until there was enough room to enter. He wen't in first ducking under the top of the door way and putting one foot in. His light shined through the room. It would make a good room as he began looking for it he soon found a panel to activate the lights. as they came on they shined from the left side to right side of the room from being flipped. As he looked around he saw two skeletal remains A ancient Iron hand and a magos. who knows what they were doing at the time of there deaths but it seems they had been sealed in hear for a long time. As he looked first to the space marine He found various Bionics long since underused one on the right hand and several throughout the body. "Maybe angelous can make use of you." he said as he looked to the marine. he looked for a name on the armor of the marine but came up short. he then looked to the magos his bones long since scattered but bionics remaining in place as he looked through the corpse he found something odd A code for something. "Well seems like I am on a scavenge mission." he said as he looked to the two. he then wondered for a moment what to do. He couldn't just leave the dead marine here his genseed likely gone but his armor and bionics fine and the magos also. He sighed as he began to gather up the remains. and headed for angelous he could least use the parts. He also would likely head to there chaplain and likely ask a prayer for the two lost souls so that they would find there way to the emperor. As he wen't he could see the marines armor better in the light it was a mark 5 Hersey pattern. The armor from there brings back many bad memory's for the legionaries. he some what wondered if he served in it likely not he assumed. As he entered Angelous new workshop he could see him working on something possibly some wall panels for lights. "Angelous I have a bit of a find here Grim one at that." He said as he placed the marine first on a table. and next the magos beside him. he could now seem him in greater light. one of his feet were also seemed to be bionic and his helm looked to have a slot for a bionic eye. He wen't to the marines helmet taking it off as he did a hiss came out of it as he took it off he could see inside a skull. he sighed. As he thought skeletons. As Angelous came over and began examining the power armor he could see it was in no condtion to use. "The power armor is damaged beyond repair best thing I could do Is transfer some of the sacred parts of this armor to another so it can preserve the machine spirits of that one. This one though Has long since been spent with its wearer. He said as he then began to look at the Bionics. "The Bionics may be of some use though They still look to be in a good condition likely protected by the armor." he said as he began looking at the parts. "Angelous Could you get any data out of Eye implant like were the marine was I found A security key on the magos And believe it could go to something the marine was likely guarding could you possibly put that along with Tempatus Bionic eye information into mine?" he asked looking to the tech marine. "Volorox I don't have time to look through it But I can transfer the information from both Eyes to your Bionic." he said as he wen't looking about the old armor going to the marines skull he carefully removed the implant from the skull. "Likely can make a servo skull from this skull." he said quietly under his breath as he took Tempatus Implant from Volorox and grabbed several wires and put it into Volorx Bionic eye. "All right now for some ancient rights." he began chanting ancient rights as the information was transferred into his eye. As he finished his chant he unplugged the wires and gave Tempatus Bionic eye back to Volorox. "There now I need to get back to work." he said as he wen't back to the panel and back to work. Volorox wen't off back to his new lair as he decided to review the Data there from the marine. As he reviewed the Data he would soon find the location to be in the room he was in. As he looked at the safe something fell directly on his head. Causing him to fall forward for a moment As he got back up he looked around and swore he herd something say "Loot" he grunted and wen't to the safe touching a few buttons he was rewarded with life. The machine spirit of the safe had held through its long travels. He smiled as he pushed the buttons. "Now lets see what you were holding." as he opened the safe Volorox face turned into a grin to a large smile. His eye patch was on one eye while his Bionic eye scanned the ancient relic.
OOC Reminder for my bro @High_Adept_Zeth ............. The ship's interior, as this chamber as well, was looking somewhat undisturbed. Layers of dust covered various equipment, cogitators and long dead servitors, apparently making Carlath the only living thing aboard "Wrath of Shadows". This was somewhat interesting since the ship's weapon systems were still online, perhaps because of Angelous's feat of reconnecting the Machine Spirit of the hulk in one big unit or the reason was something else. In any case, Veritas was all alone here, facing a shadow from his past.... ............. "My choice is," Chaplain turned to the rest of the Stormtroopers securing the room to back away a bit, soldiers obeying without question, "Go and pick your gear, Ixtab of Legion Honorum and follow us. I believe that despite everything, we have necessary stations required to help you with your injuries. That is, if that's alright with you?"
<The Sister> "One of the few things I could save from an Ecclessiarchy ship, here on this ominous monster of a vessel." Sister Renate said honest, her meal was already eaten before Gaius joined her, it had been three trays, but who could deny her so? Her cheekbones still showed her bones, at least her pale skin started to get a bit of a healthy color again. "Having been here for I don't even know how long. I surely miss Ophelia and my other sisters. Tell me, Brother Astartes. Has much changed? The last thing I know is that we were sent to support a Blackstone Fortress against Abaddons forces, we never arrived... Instead this colossus had devoured our ship." She seemed not too interested in it, though she knew that she had to learn hat happened eventually, with a tiny smile she returned to empty her beverage. OOC: Waiting on 'Sirius' progress from you (@Colapse ) and @DeathKorpsOfKrieg
<Shadow Master aka more fun for Amraphel> But it was not about reaching the point, Amraphel had to learn. As he stepped forward he could hear only a 'snap' before noticing he came in contact with some sort of rope which unleashed the trap. Immediately an explosive went off, throwing the Blackshield across the hallway, where he not even fell on the floor as the ominous figure caught him. With the expertise, that could only come from a similar age than Amraphel himself, a poisoned dagger was driven right into the main artery located on the neck, having easily penetrated the neck joint of the power armor, it unleashed it's paralyzing toxin into his system, taking care of even an Astartes. Now he at least knew first hand how Sirius could have been captured. <Bit later> The Blackshield awoke in a dark chamber, it looked like no specific room. There were three tables, in one he was strapped in, they looked like those where a Neophyte would get his implants for ascension to a Brother. To his left there was a skeleton, to his right had been the unconscious form of Sirius Jules, armor completely sealed, it also had the same neck wound as Amraphels armor now had. It seemed he came first to his senses or perhaps worse, the Son of Guilliman was no longer. He could only see the spot lights above him and notice he was strapped in tightly, incapable of moving an inch. Also he felt the air conditioners breeze on his face. His helmet was gone! Ah no there it was... Neatly attached to his waist. The door slid open and the servo engines hummed as the mechanisms worked. Heavy Steps of power armor were heard, the man stopping in front of Amraphel and turning to him after glancing at the Apothecary, who yet had to awaken. "First tests suggest you are of interesting heritage... Blackshield. And I want to learn more. I have three options for you, and I let you choose. The First is. You answer every single question I have, honestly, and you two can leave. The Second is. I torture every answer I want out of you. And the third is. You don't answer at all, and I kill your friend here, and then make you a grotesque monster, similar to the fashion what the Haemonculus Covents of Comorragh would do." His voice was dark, and loud, the vox module on maximum volume, echoing from the walls, it was certainly a strong pain in Amraphels still weakened mind. But what else was to be expected from an Emperor's Child? Typical Slaanesh loving bastards who gave into all of the Chaos Gods excess and pleasures. And judging from his Mark III Pattern, he in fact was an original legionnaire from the Horus Heresy. Full clad so that Amraphel could not discern anything beyond that from the Chaos Astartes.
