"Steinar! Damn it Steiner, where do you think you are going? Dart, get eyes on him and make sure he doesn't kill himself. As for everyone else, start hoofing it and don't look back until you stop hearing the explosions!" With that Fenix and the rest of section three soldiers, reinforced by the surviving first and second, laid down suppressive fire as they retreated out of the canyon. It would be preferred to keep the orks contained in the canyon, but now all they had to worry about was making it out alive. 'Be safe out there Dart.' [I will Ma'am. Safe travels.] Fenix actives the detonator, triggering the explosions starting from section one and working back. Orks would stop to see the initial explosions, but then comprehension would dawn on them and they'd push even faster out of the canyon. "Section four and heavy transport. This is Agent Fenix with ambush squads 1, 2, and 3. Charges are off and we're coming in hot. Prepare to lay down suppressive fire and for immediate departure!"
<Apothecary> "OUTRAGEOUS! I come from a fleet-based chapter and I care not from where you come! But you propose a death sentence! 'never tried before', pah! If you would know what we Sons of Guilliman did at certain times! I refuse to let anyone do such thing, and I know that Marmaroth would propose like myself to start a conquest for the Space Hulk! Even if we save the Angelfall that way, what then? All will perish here and we will be stranded and die through lack of supplies. Your short-term solution will kill us all, one way or another." He roared with anger, though perhaps Amraphel was just still delusional from his intense wounds, at least that he hoped. "Commander Feron. Whatever you do. Please, and I beg you on the Codex and Guilliman's very stasis capsule, that you will not go with Amraphels idea. He is under extreme medication, from when I recovered him. He is delusional if not simply insane from the pain he is suffering through. I know Marmaroth has done even more unbelievable feats before, but I entrust that also you realize that the Angelfall is gone, we cannot save her. Just listen to Hera herself, she is only intact to allow us to move on and survive, it is her gift to us. Please. Make the right choice." Despite the damage of his Diagnostor Helmet, the Fleet-Based child was glad that his private vox-channel still worked. <Steinar Greywold> The man grinned as the explosives came off and as the entire canyon started to shake. His feet carried him even faster from one end to the other and as the rock started to slide off from the walls, he just kept on running forward. Jumping and leaping over sudden gaps. Bouncing from rocks and stones, he wanted to get to the very back of the Canyon, and then the Orks would learn what true terror is.
<Amraphel> "Outrageous you say? You lack cunning and vision apothecary, that's what I say!" Amraphel was absolutely furious about the Apothearies remarks, clearly the man was a fool. "And I am under no delusion, it is you who is delusional! The Angelfall is the only ship we have, we shouldn't just abandon it to undertake an ill planned boarding of a space hulk. I'd rather have a half destroyed imperial ship than some scrappy unreliable space hulk. "Commander Feron, wouldn't saving this ship that has served us so faithfully be worth taking the risk? I urge you to consider my plan this ship can still be saved!"
"Get everyone ready something else is here" as he spoke tempestus moved past the burning hulk of the stompa "and be prepared for orks" Ooc sorry for the late reply works been busy and had a job interveiw today so had to not only do a 2 hour train travel and a 7 hour shift but also a hour interveiw
<Apothecary> "So did the Hammer of Faith, Inquisitor Krauz's vessel until it crashed into a planet due to the gellarfield generator ripping apart while in the Immaterium. I rescued him and his forces, including Marmaroths former self! This vessel is not invincible and it served us well, but time to move on has come. Just like I am no more Sirius and Marmaroth is no longer Stevanus, so this craft and all of it's personnel must move on and adapt to this new life!" He roared in reply, not letting a man who cannot even keep his own blade at his body decide the fate of this team. OOC: Okay so why is abandoning the Angelfall or not abandoning bigger of a deal than abandoning the Imperium or not? Yay Player logic!
<Feron> Touching in on his personal line with their Apothecary Feron only nodded quietly. "We won't be undertaking such an action. Brother I know you are currently busy tending to our wounded but if for whatever reason I go down will you be fit to take temporary command of operations until Marmaroth awakens? I know the Sons handle themselves in space with the utmost skill. Right now I'm entertaining the idea we try and hi-jack the Orks own transports so we can ideally fly without harassment to the hulk. Either take all of us or just myself and a locator beacon so you all can teleport in once a safe position has been identified. It leaves our forces stuck on the ground in a precarious position but at this stage we're all sitting ugly no matter what. " Then switching back to their team wide vox he takes up a far sterner tone. "We will not be diving into the warp, our engines are dead without fuel, fortune only favors those bold enough to survive such. We've no telling if the Angelfall will hold intact long enough to even get the rest of our team back on board. For now prepare to repel boarders, Strauss get the troopers and serfs down there, Braddok stand by with those explosives I ordered disengaged, we might be using them where the Orks didn't get to. As for the rest, prepare yourselves for the real trial is upon us, no further squabbling or argument. Take it as an order, take it as a request, take it however, just make it happen. "
<Apothecary - Private Channel> "I shall do so, for Marmaroth trusted you, and if you trust into me, I shall disappoint neither. The plan is cunning, but dangerous. And without Angelous on-board, I am not sure how well we will be capable to steal their crafts. Nonetheless, we shall give it our best, since it is the best plan I can personally agree on. For the planetary troops to get them to us, I suggest that actually Veritas, or Tempestus as you call him, shall attempt a Warp-Travel spell (Gate of Infinity), he is talented and may just be efficient enough to get at least our team from the surface." And so the man started to move with Marmaroth leaning on his shoulder, marching outside of the Teleportarium. He required both hands to carry the Terminator-armored commander, due to his own condition, rendering him useless for combat.
<Feron> "We've ways of figuring out the Ork 'Know Wotz' just might be a mouthful. " He already had that figured out to a degree, just needed to get his hands, and teeth on an green skin pilot. "As for the warp gate, considering how far out our forces are on the world it might be beyond him to make that many trips but I'll pass the word on to him. " Opening a dedicated channel to their Dreadnought bound Librarian Feron spoke swiftly. "Brother Veritas, can you manage to open a warp gate to other team members and manage another after gathering them all up to get everyone back aboard the Angelfall? " Taking their Apothecaries note about the Librarian's name to heart he bothered to use what he now assumed to be the proper one. ( @lord-watchman )
Before Draconion could speak, the vox erupted in a frenzy of furious argument and counter-argument over the fate of the ship and its inhabitants. Listening in silence to the various plans on offer - some more hare-brained than others - Draconion finally finds a lull in which to message Feron in private. "Commander...Uncle," he says, still speaking in his low, terse tone reserved for urgent business, "Let's just say I've found a way to hack into Radio Gork-and-Mork. After my...experiences onboard the Ork kroozer, I am confident of hijacking control of the gestalt Ork psyche over relatively short distances. I should only be able to manage small groups initially, but I theorise that, given the exponentially cumulative nature of said Ork psychic gestalt, the more groups I can wrest control of, the greater my reach and depth of control should become. Everything hinges on being able to subvert one group of boarders to begin with. I should have more pull the more Orks I can control. If I succeed - once I succeed - I can have our subverted Orks send signals that all is well aboard this ship so the Ork forces at large circumvent us. Meanwhile, we can put them to work ferrying supplies for refit and refuelling to us and get us back into shape for fight or flight. All that being said, we should still stand by for evacuation. If necessary, we can evacuate preemptively and leave a skeleton crew onboard. We can always pick up evacuees later. On another note, I should be able to facilitate Ancient Tempestus' warp gate cantrip by anchoring it on this end for him."
"I'm fine, the orks following us aren't. Though I somehow doubt that it's an eclipse...", somehow it was familiar to him, somehow... Emperor on Terra. The same thing had happened on his homeworld, just before a kruza smashed into it. "Drive up to the chimera, kid, I have a bad feeling about this. The Emperor protects, but drive safe!" "Zeth, do you have much experience with vox units? We might have to boost the signal if we want to contact the Angelfall." Generally chimeras had a strong vox to coordinate troop movement over entire fronts, but into orbit...
