Dorallius swayed under the punishing weapons fire, this helmet was of remarkeble artifice indeed. The least chainsword armed foe tried to capitalise on the staggered Excoriator as he made for a decapitating swing, to end him, a swwing Dorallius saw just in time as he then duxked under by the egde of his helm, and kicked the marine in the side, staggering him to the side. Dorallius then advanced quickly on the one he just wounded, his gladius moved with the speed of a master bladesman, as it went through the weakspot on the neck, and all the way into the spine, the galdius claiming yet another kill, but before the blade was even through, he had lifted his pistol, and returned the favor of bolts to the third traitor, one blowing through the lens, and half a second later, blood blew out as the bolt burst, effectively killing the traitor. Two dead one to go, though now more blood dripped into his eyes, though he would have to deal with that later, so far the helmet had saved his life twice, he wasent removewing it now.
Amraphel sighed as the chaplain was lifted skywards by his jump pack; as always he would have to finish the work himself. Bolt shells impacted all arround him, some even on his armour, making big dents. He closed in towards the enemy jumping from cover to cover, getting closer all the while. He found a moment of respite behind a half destroyed pillar and took a few seconds to check his surroundings. He saw the chaplain had not jumped away without purpose, but was now duelling the traitor captain. He resolved that he would have to end this quickly to help the others. He was trying to return fire on the 4 enemies in front of him, but they pinned him down with accurate bolter fire. Quickly, he took a smoke grenade, and memorized the enemy positions before throwing it. The smoke then obscured the line of sight between him and the enemy and he took the opportunity to unleash a Plasma barrage, firing in a wide arc from left to right, hoping to at least deal with some of the foes. While firing he could hear two death screams and the bang of power armour crashing to the ground. After a few seconds the smoke had lifted and Amraphel could see two dead foes. The other two had quickly taken cover behind a pile of debris and were now opening fire on him. Amraphel prepared for a last charge to finish them off quickly, eager to help the others fight the traitorous honour guard.
As he skitters uncontrollably across the floor from the impact of the daedaemon's attack, Draconion desperately focuses his powers to the impact zone, drawing in the nimbus of flame to burn out the corroding, infectious material before it can do further damage. So much for *that* theory, he thinks ruefully to himself as he clambers to his feet. Turning his pistol on the daemon, he starts up a steady stream of Vengeance rounds aimed between its eyes, hoping the power of the atom will at least sting and slow the creature somewhat. Meanwhile, he begins to slowly retreat at roughly the creature's rate of advance, keeping a healthy distance between them, motioning to Steinar to do likewise. As he begins to fall back, he stretches his subtle senses to the limit, straining to perceive the currents of warp energy and how they bend and flow in the presence of the daemon, thereby divining some clue as to what is feeding the monster.
<Steinar "HUZZAH A DAEMON!" Greywold> "I am the last to judge about your skills, honorable Librarian. But we are not meant to fight this thing. What we need are reinforcements in the shape of the Venerable One." Steinar said in an awkwardly calm way and ran over to the Librarian in order to grab him by his remaining arm with his Power Fist and drag him out. If even the Daemonblade swinging heretic runs, then it is more than obvious that these two can do little to nothing. "It feeds off the man who ran. He ran in order to organize a remote ritual going to strengthen this beast further. Stop him to stop it." The Blood Claw lied, hoping to convince his friend, because if not. Both would die down here. OOC: If the GM says: Then you better do that. I hope for some cool escape scene like Resident Evil 6 with Chris and that other dude against the one super monster thing.
Volorox Smiled under his helmet as he saw the defiler loose its arm like he had lossed motion in his he even launched as it was brought down by there Dreadnought. "Ancient one I suggest We help the others with the Honor guard that have arrived Even in both our damaged states we can give them Something to regret." he said with a smile under his helmet he looked across the battlefield and noticed a few battles that interested him. Feron in battle with a champion of the angels of absolution and there Chaplain in battle with The captain of this pathetic company. Volorox looked to the ancient one. "I am going to try to return A favor to our salamander. Can you try to assit the others in there battle they will likely need the assistance." Volorox said as he then began carefully and slowly moving to Ferons position. with his power halberd close in his hands and Volorox moving as stealthly as he could.
"Just a few moments more, Brother Steinar," says Draconion urgently, "Just enough for me to find what I am looking for. Then we run."
<Steinar 'You heard me the first time!' Greywold> The Power Fist squeezed tighter around the librarians arm.. "We are leaving. Now." His eyes were glaring daggers into the Librarians own, his will indomitable. And the Salamander could see that the Wolf would not be reasoned with. It was not an enforced will, to force Draconion to obey. No. It was glimmer of sadness and concern. Steinar was sincere with his gaze that he worried any more moment spent here will result in death and he was not ready to lose another one so close to him, not if he could help it.
"go" as he spoke he saw the angels captain charging his old friend "marmoroth try and keep him alive id like to question him" as he spoke he then moved towards the honour guard and spoke "stand down or i will tear you down here and now" as he spoke warp fire spread from his blade as he prepared for their reaction
It took a moment for Sigismund to recover and face his opponent again, shaking off the blow. Drawing his mono-blade as the lance had been knocked away, the knight charged forward with the hope that his foe would counter the strike. His plan was to stop just a moment before moving into range, letting the legionnaire's strike move past before grabbing his own blade with both hands and ramming upwards through the marine's neck.
<Vault> The tendrils of warp energy, visible to Draconion's witch sight, were spreading all around the chamber and well outside. It became clear to him that there was no ritual to disrupt, because they came quite late for that. The thing was feeding of something else, something that wasn't in the Keep itself but outside of it, bleeding on the ground in the Courtyard and as long as it lasts, so the Daemon will grow bigger and bigger. Nurglite chuckled as it came ever closer, the vengeance rounds not really doing much damage to its bloated form, at least nothing that it can't regenerate. (OOC it will reach you with my next post). <Courtyard> @Xaphen Firing a plasma shot at such close range could only have one outcome. The master-crafted pistol had seen its share of battle and many foes fell beneath its fiery beam. Today, one more had been added to that list. There was a huge hole in Angel's torso as the energy ate away armor and flesh alike. The man swayed a bit, but before he died he still had strength for one last blow. The overhead blow missed Blackshield's skull but the axe found purchase between man's shoulder and his neck, destroying Icelos's collar bone. Both of them fell on the ground, blood flowing from Blackshield's wound underneath logged axe as he watched Angel of Absolution's lifeless body right besides him. @DeranVendar @Vulpas "I am Perseus and I shall be your doom," the Champion responded as he narrowly evaded the knife throw, weapon harmlessly flying besides his head. Instead of thrusting forwards, he blocked the overhead swing with the flat side of his power halberd and spun around, following Feron's footsteps and moving towards him, not away from him. The maneuver was somewhat aggressive and it payed off as both Marines smacked against each other, however the Angel used the powered pommel of his extraordinary weapon and smashed Salamander's legs, throwing him on the ground and into the Predator. However instead of the followup stab, Champion jumped in the air and twisted once more, as he did it drawing bead on the Marine Malevolent that was trying to sneak towards him. "What are you, a Raven Guard?" Angel of Absolution laughed as he fired a controlled burst at Volorox which hit him square in the chest and shoulders, the sheer amount of bolts hitting him made some of it go through and even further wound the Assault Marine, blowing chunks of flesh with it. Standard Bearer kept his firefight going with the Inquisitorial troops that were manning the walls now, them being led by the Sister of Battle. Many troopers died to his exceptional marksmanship, however he was also tied up in this fight and unable to assist his comrades. Warrior carrying Combi-plasma shifted his focus on the Predator tank, dealing with its armament in quick fashion - couple of krak grenades and some well-placed plasma shots. Not having any other option, Sitri fell back alongside his gunner serf, them using rear hatch as the "Ultima Vale" slowly began turning into a slag of molten metal. But as soon as he was done with it, the Angel turned around and targeted the Venerable Dreadnought @lord-watchman , preventing him from coming to Chaplain's aid with couple of shots that further reduced Tempestus's combat effectiveness, melting chunks of metal and slowing his movement. Marmaroth was still embattled with the enemy Captain, quite easily parrying sword blows with his black axe, not showing that he was in a dangerous spot. He stopped speaking though, his skull visage silent as death itself. Angel of Absolution held his ground as well, proving that he was indeed a master swordsman. OOC You kinda ignored a guy who's been attacking you directly but mistakes can happen and nothing awfully serious will happen, although keep that in mind for the future. Two enemy marines fell but the important one was still there. The moment of laxity spawns a lifetime of heresy, some would say. It could also be said that if you are careless, even for a moment, in a place such as this grim dark galaxy you are good as dead. Power sword came crashing down and instead of slicing Amraphel apart, his attacker did another thing. He aimed for his sword arm and with a silent shriek, Amraphel's hand fell off alongside his weapon. What followed up was a kick in the chest that threw Marine on the ground, his attacker smacking his plasma pistols aside and away from his reach. At that moment, power blade was directly above Amraphel's head and he could see the scared Alpha Legionnaire grinning. But the killing blow never came. The man picked up Amraphel's power sword and spoke, "Remember this moment. May the shame of it follow you wherever you go, staying forever an honorless dog like your entire traitorous kind." With that, the Alpha Legionnaire retreated, leaving Amraphel lying in the dirt and weaponless, his brothers providing covering fire as their remaining force did something unusual. They began retreating. @Loldoom @Grall_Stonefist Dorallius saw this right after he saw Sigismund spearing the last Alpha Legionnaire in the neck and then stumbling next to his corpse, but still alive of course. Under the hail of bolter rounds, the sons of Alpharius began moving away from the courtyard and somewhere beyond it, firing on the run and evading any further combat...Perhaps they knew something the Team didn't? <Void Combat> "My Captain, they are disengaging!" one of the officers shouted while fire burned all around the Bridge. Jannika was on her last legs now - "Angelfall" suffered two boarding parties that were successfully repelled as well as staying strong against two Astartes strike cruisers. The ship was damaged from port to starboard, but the forgotten architects of the ancient ship did their job admirably, allowing it to stand firm against such odds. Wreck of the Angels of Absolution ship, "Our Undying Faith" floated in the void, its hull broken and annihilated by "Angelfall's" mighty guns. However, the other ship, XX legion's cruiser "Upsilon" was still there and actually had an upper hand in the duel, before its captain chose to disengage. Jannika knew her ship still had some fighting in it, however she was under no illusion that they could survive for more than 15 minutes. But it was irrelevant - they were left in such position that she couldn't retaliate and she didn't plan on chasing the stronger foe. What she did was order for teams to start putting down fire as she opened a channel to the planet, wanting to inform the Chaplain of the current turn of events...
