While the cold floor didn't feel well on his face and his new tattoo was sore, he was still alive. Never figuring out where or what had happened, he limped out of the door of the chambers. There was only one way out and he had to leave and suffer the consequences. Truly at this point, he thought himself 'safe'. The traitor had left, leaving the door open and his chains off. Now alone, he was at peace with himself. He had not been alone for days now. Always on the edge and being around so many has began to corrupt his psyche. But for now, silence. Right at home.
"I will go also to recover the Blackshield," says Draconion, both in reply to Volorox's request and independent of it, moving to fall in with the rescue party.
"Everyone in the thunder hawk then"as he spoke he looked at the chimeras "disambark from the troop transports and get in the thunder hawk" as he spoke he watched as the two chimeras rear acsess ramps opend "we wont be able to wait much longer"
Sigismund silently stepped forward, also intent on joining the rescue party. "I am willing to help, for what it is worth. I understand that I am no marine but any operation now will need as many helping hands as possible." Blanche was already stored in here berth, ready for transport into orbit as she probably wouldn't be able to fit if the base was underground.
"I'm sure Inquisition will pay you for your losses," Steinar grinned as he got into the Thunderhawk while Lysander only shrugged. "Well we could try to contact him but that would require going through channels we have no access at the moment. Also, if the rebellion started, we can't know how much it spread...Perhaps it's best to leave it there?" In any event, all of them entered the Thunderhawk and Kajar gunned it towards the heretic base...(OOC you can arrive with your next post, it has big walls, lots of buildings etc, you can make it look like whatever you want but spoiler: there are no enemies ). The Blackshield got outside of the chamber and proceeded into a long hallway. At the end of it, he saw that his gear was tossed on the floor of an armory but it looked like everything was there. Everything, except for the enemies. (OOC same thing I wrote above ).
Icelos eventually found the armory, it was barren of all life. Human life that is, many different kinds of weapons still lied there. Nothing rare, las guns, flamers, and hundreds of parts. Most of them were scattered, obviously who ever left was in a rush. Before he was just going to leave, he saw his gear. Funny enough, it was cleaner then he last left it. Most of the caked sludge had been wiped off, or maybe just fell off. The sludge taking its effect on the armor, the Blackshield's armor was now Black with random slashes and spots of Silver. This was only a minor issue. With no serf or servitor's to help with the process, it took him quite awhile to fit on his armor and even when it did, it was just armor. With the damage to his black carapace, it was like nothing that he had been use to. The armor was more akin to the carapace armor worn by the Guard. Just a piece of metal to lie on top of the user, not becoming one with him. With little more effort, he found his weapons. They were all on the table, odd that they had not stole a precious power weapon or holy Bolter. Maybe the traitor had left it for a reason... Now with his heavy armor and his weapons, he moved down another hallway. He wasn't sure where to go, but he had to start somewhere.
As the thunder hawk sped off tempestus activated his vox "brother icelos if you can here me we are on our way to extract you" as he spoke he remained at the front ramp "piolet get me close to the ground about 30 foot and open the ramp, the rest of you strap in and enjoy a dreadnaought air drop" as he spoke he let his mind wander "i can sense him open the ramp now" and with that the ramp opend as they reached the location "il get in first, sigsmund you get ready to cover our acsess to the thunder hawk untill you land, same goes to you steriner, volorox draconian with me" with that he jumped out using his psychic power to levitate down
With that final word, Fenix pulled a small handled with a seemed to only possess a single switch. Fenix flipped it as they entered the Thunderhawk. At the same time, the same screen that showed Fenix's personal funds flashed red. [Failsafe Engaged. Have a nice day.] A synthetic voice announced.] "No one takes my stuff." A loud explosion could be hear in the distance. A low grade thermal explosion taking out most of the surrounding area. This might case some stress for the already tense situation facing the hive-city's imminent civil war. [Was that a good idea?] 'If you're going to do something, be thorough. Nothing in there can now lead to us, or me.' [What if that causes the Hive-city erupts into fighting?] 'We'll have a show on our way up.' They flew for a short time towards the Heretic's stronghold. As they approached the base, Fenix noticed it seemed more like a walled city than a hole in the ground. "Looks like they've been here for a while... We're doing a great job."
Volorox wen't after the dreadnought by jumping down after him with bolt pistol and halberd in hand using his jump pack to slow his descent as he wen't. He raised his bolt pistol the moment they got down there ready for heretics to ambush them.
The Thunderhawk hovered safely above the heretic base. The place indeed looked as it was left in a hurry. If they had more time to investigate, they would see that a number of tank tracks could be seen in the ground, leaving the base in the direction of the hive. Later on they would find out that all of this was prepared long time ago as a backup plan, in case somebody ever discovers plans of the Unholy Alliance on Onpuku. Of course, in times such as this, when the Imperium is in a certain decline, there were no shortages of those who felt that another road should be taken in order for one to prosper. Sadly, that other road often led to damnation. The Blackshield was perhaps inside of an unknown building, however he was still a Space Marine and he had no problem figuring out a way outside, where familiar sight of a Venerable Dreadnought painted in Deathwatch black awaited him, alongside couple of other marines. At the same time, seeing that there were no immediate threats, Kajar landed in the middle of the compound with his gunship, allowing for others to board it. After that, he pulled the levers and headed into upper atmosphere and the safety of their heavy cruiser beyond. The trek took them an hour or so, during which they could hear various chatter the Storm Lord caught with the com, most of it sounding like the heretics surprised whatever loyalists there were and took the hive in the blink of an eye. The battle raged everywhere, even in the void as majority of orbital stations also denounced the Emperor, however they proved to be an easy meal for the "Angelfall". Eventually, they boarded the ship, those which were wounded were ferried towards the Apothecarion and the gentle care of their Howling Griffon brother, while others were summoned to the bridge. Marshal Xander died during the journey but Steve Wade was still alive, the Storm Troopers escorting him into the brig to be questioned more thoroughly later on. As they arrived on the bridge, they saw the Chaplain pondering over the hololit, the Lord Commissar (who also arrived from Onpuku, though much earlier) spoke to his Commander, although he went silent the moment he saw the newcomers. The Flesh Tearer was in his Terminator armor, a giant blade next to his throne while a strange creature stood behind him in the small patch of darkness (OOC Grall, you can do the honors, if you wish ). "We have lost contact with the PDF command," Jannika updated them in the meantime, "As well as those loyalist ships. We are truly all alone now. Orders Lord?" Grey eyes that were shining with low golden light (or perhaps that was just mimicry) did not look back nor the voice that issued the following command swayed, not even for a second. "Burn the Heretic". Good Captain turned in her seat and entered the required digits, the command she used not entirely unknown to her. Outside, the underbelly of the ancient warship opened to reveal huge weapon mouths, gaping towards the world below. Immediately after, the guns began firing their deadly load, equally blessed and feared cyclonic torpedoes. The missiles hurried towards the surface and the entire crew of the "Angelfall's" bridge could see as the surface of Onpuku II disappeared in the raging inferno, screams of the dead filling their ears from the vox feed, after which everything grew silent.
