    "And by 'better nature', of course, we mean cowardice and greed for personal advantage," replies Draconion with a knowing wink, "Of course, we must keep our eyes open for what is actually there, rather than what we want to see. But assuming they turn out the way we expect, we will know what to do. As you heard in discussion with the Commander, we are going as representatives of the joint crusading task force under overall command of Marshal Ludovic of the Black Templars - specifically, members of its Inquisitorial retinue, deriving its powers from the Jericho Conclave, should it come to us using Inquisitorial mandate. We will approach under pretext of auditing the Hive's readiness for resupplying the crusade fleet, and broach our inquiries into Steve Wade as an aside. Your thoughts?"

    "Well, few plans are foolproof and even fewer survive contact with the enemy. The plan itself sounds... sound. Of course that is assuming all goes well. Which, I doubt it will." She chuckles. "When does it ever go well?" She shakes her head. "Would you prefer we stick together or... divide and conquer?"

    The Blackshiled was the only one who had also been waiting inside the Thunderhawk, but was standing near the exit ramp of the gunship. He had no intention of strapping himself either.

    The Wolf's scream, it reminded him of previous screams in battle. Ones from allies and enemy. Eventually it trailed off into reminding him to load his Boltgun. This weapon was an old beast, it was forged for a time where the Deathwatch was founded. The Hellfire rounds followed together in a belt. Leading out of the weapon and wrapping around the Astarte's right arm. With a sharp clank from the weapon's charging handle, a fresh bolt had entered the chamber.

    OOC: Sorry guys, been a bit busy.

    (Briefing)

    Sigismund listened intently to the briefing, agreeing with everything up to the team composition, but he would broach that subject with Marmaroth after the briefing.

    (Post briefing)

    "Sir, while I am not perhaps as imposing as an astartes, a knight in shining armour complete with horse does not exactly fit in to a hive city. Might I request moving out with the astartes in the wastelands? On horseback I can more than keep up with them and I remember enough of hunting from my homeworld that I can track most targets."

    (Equipment, assuming that 'umies can take up the grenade offer too)

    While not exactly a modern soldier by any standard, he still knew that a blade would not help against a tank. Taking 2 krak and one frag gave Sigismund more options when faced with armour and hordes.

    <Steinar Greywold>
    "BLACKSHIELD!" Steinar announced loud, jumping in front of the sitting figure, hitting his own chest proud. "I am Steinar Greywold! Cousin of the Orkbane, Thain Greywold! What is your name?!" His question sounded like a challenge, though all he did was ask his name...

  6. Fenix moved out without a second word. Dart had finished his scans and made note of the Mastiff.
    "You know that hound can track better than me, right? Once it has its target's sent there's little chance of escape. Will be useful."
    "At least I get more say this mission than the last."
    "You're not gonna fill my case with melta bombs again are you?"
    "No,just bullets this time."

    In that armory, Fenix chose stalker rounds for the ripper. A frag and two stun grenades. Finally a newest addition, a reward for last mission. A hand flammer, perfect for close quarters and fits well into most storage bins.
    'A good job pays top credit, a great job pays in ammo and hardware. Icould get used to this.'
    Fenix admired the flamer. Imagining numerous applications.
    "You should have payed more attention at the meeting." Dart interupted.
    "Why and about who?"
    "Rocky O'Rafftery doesn't care for you and now you have lost command over Edd Club."
    "The subs? So what, they can take care of themselves and I don't need them to listen. I just need to catch the mark. They just need to not kill or sit on him. This one comes in alive, one way or another."
    "I'm telling you, this will work against us."
    "Against me. Not us. Your just a voice and a tool, nothing else. Not anymore. Quiet time."
    Fenix turned off Dart's volume before he could respond, before it could simulate a response. Darts was a tool and a reminder. People die and nothing can change that.
    "Where's the rest of my team? Form up at docking bay two and be ready to move out in thirty. We're burning daylight, and that means losing a body and capital."

    <Feron after speaking with Amraphel>
    Stepping over to the Bounty Hunter the Salamander sized him up, noting his equipment, stance and general air about him for a moment. "Fenix correct? Seeing as you're in charge of the mission what are your plans for once we make planet fall exactly? Any specific targets you've got in mind to sick us on? " His friendly smile had left, no longer addressing a battle Brother in idle chatter he had come to talk shop with their 'Sergeant' as it were, a more appropriate neutral expression with a touch of pensive thought written on it taking place.
  8. "Co-leader, still got the chained mutt at my side. And yes, Fenix will do Astartes. All we need are two things, tactical info of the local big names and an address. Since the Choirgirl and your Brother Psyker are gonna go right into the trap that is the local Arbites Station, or some other high brow waste of time. That leaves us all the fun of catching this Wade ganger first. He's ex-guard, easy enough to spot. Probably enough meatshields for our team and yours. Can't say I have enough info on the Wastes to say."
    Fenix talked with Salamander Feron in the usual business manner that befell all who risked talking to his person. The Astartes was not wearing his helmet, red eyes and onyx skin of his chapter geneseed in full giew.
    'I've never been called a Sergeant before. Only demi-gods are free of such worries. Never feeling the sting of rejection for how they look, living above such mortal distractions. Or does he?'
    "Tell me, Feron was it? Has your appearance always been so... Unique?"
    Fenix called over to Sir Sigsmund, "Hey, space knight. Why don't you team up with the Sister and Librarian? He may be a psyker Demi-god, but all he's got for back up is that nun with a gun. Someone like you wouldn't look so out of place in the upper Hives, may even be horse accessible."

    <Feron to Fenix>
    "A time when I appeared any different is a touch hard to remember, much of it gets washed away with our induction. Some four and a half centuries ago I looked much the different man than I am now, but I've outlived that life time a dozen bouts over. " There wasn't a hint of bother about it, yet another thing time had dulled along with a long service to the Imperium, if anything he smiled some. "Imagine I'll be able to pass of easily enough for a mutant down there, just keep the cloak up until it's time. Always did make for quite the scare for those who had never seen a proper Salamander before. "

    A awkward silence followed. No sound was made from the Midnight figure. The only emotion shown was his helmet's Vox grill. Silent death. Inside the helmet he raised a eyebrow to the figure. What a strange way to approach another. He knew of the Space Wolves, but never had the honor of serving with them. Maybe this was how they acted? The rumors about them being savages were probably real.

    The long silence was broken by his helmets Vox-caster, "You may call me whatever you please, I have lost everything from my former chapter, especially my name. Cousin of Orkbane? I would assume that was not a name of a Ork warboss." Inside his mighty suit the Blackshield cringed. In his chapter, that kind of insolence to a Battle Brother is welcomed. He is no longer in his chapter...
