"Everything they have concerning technology should be up to date with the Imperial standards. Sadly, we have no examples of that propaganda, the informant was deep undercover, so the messages we received were scarce, only their significance increased as the rebellion started. Once you find this person, he should have more information." "The enemy strength is unknown to us at the moment. As from our information, the PDF forces number between seven and ten million soldiers, however we have no idea what is the exact number of deserters. We know only that war is being fought as we speak between traitors and those still loyal to the Imperium. The info I found in Munitorum was sketchy at best, so expect usual set of vehicles found on any civilized world." "About the daemons, since the fighting just started I trust they weren't able to summon anything, but if the cult's leaders are here, you can expect the worst." "What binds them is their deep hatred for us and the order we stand for. As much as I know, it is not a perfect alliance, however those in charge obviously think such conglomerate serves their needs which are in the end same. But don't try to understand them, for that path leads to madness. The only safe bet is to kill them all." "You will insert via Thunderhawk and go to one of the minor cities where we have organized a pickup for my agent. He goes by the name of "Nightwing", once you are there he will find a way to get in contact with you. And don't get me mistaken - I do expect them to burrow deep, that would only mean they have no where to run. It is you who is going to dig them out."
Draconion's eyes click to observe the bickering between the Grey Knight and the Inquisitor...well, more like one-sided attempts at bickering skilfully deflected. Being privy to sensitive information thanks to his service in both the Librarius and the Deathwatch, he is well aware of exactly who and what the Grey Knights are. Wisely deciding to avoid chipping in, he instead attends to the briefing question-and-answer, nodding in acknowledgement as Marmaroth answers his and other questions. "A covert insertion. Would that we had Raven Guard amongst us," he says softly. "The unaugmented humans can disguise themselves easily enough, but we must work something out for the Astartes and the Assassin. We stand out too easily. Perhaps we could split into mixed groups to reduce our profile - groups of unusually large and belligerent-looking men draw attention, and the power armour is unmistakeable. We might pass for...," he pauses, "Abhumans when mixed with regular humans and out of armour. Bodyguards, ganger muscle and the like. We could stash our armour at safe locations, or better yet, have it delivered at need via drop pod. Your thoughts, comrades?"
Kira stood in a very militaristic position. Her arms on her back and her legs a bit appart. she looks at the Chaplain quietly. She don't ask questions, since that is not what she is supposed to do. She is supposed to find a target and eliminate it at a long distance. She don't care about the assasin, let that unregulated filth do its work. She herself would do as she was commanded and would not stray from the orders in anyway.
Manner moved his hands in a way to dismiss the Knight: "To late for the bowing and titles, fool." Manner turning his heady away, paying attention to other questions and answers. "A similar thought I had. This retinue isn't really average for most Imperial worlds, let alone one who harbors heretics."
Tavec stood in an all too relaxed stance, thumb of his right hand looped into his weapon belt as his left rubbed at his jaw thoughtfully. A populated Imperial World in the Solar Segmentum.. In the vast scheme of things, his own network of spies and informants who unknowingly worked for the Inquisition had a very small realm of knowledge compared to the vast and wide Imperium. Still.. If the Inquisition had ever let him even enter that particular Segmentum, so very close to the Throneworld.. This could have been averted. Small chance, but the odds didn't matter as much as the fact that after two centuries he wasn't trusted enough to make a base there. "No offense Astartes but Raven Guard or not, a ceramite clad giant can't exactly make connections. Criminal elements, Marmaroth? Give me a day and I'll be so firmly entrenched in their criminal underworld that I can lead you right to them."
shrugs "well atleast you can take the smoke" -briefing braccio stands at attention the whole time trying to seem biger then his normal height around the astartes standing next to the grey night and dorllius
"Agreed," says Draconion as Tavec finishes speaking, "Which is why at least some of our assets should remain hidden until deployment. However, do not underrate Astartes capacity for covert operations - my Chapter has successfully conducted several such missions in recent history, and my...particular talents would be of great help in the field. I, at least, should go with the initial insertion - sans power armour, of course. Which brings us to another question - the Inquisitor mentioned a retinue, but who is officially in command on the ground for this operation?"
"We wont be able to deploy if your head swells the size of the Thunder Hawk. Covert Is not the word I would use to describe any Astarte chapter that wields power armor. You 'talents' will only be needed if we get attacked. Which will indeed happen if they find a large space marine crawling l through the ground." He Snarled at Draconian. He turned his head to the Agent. "What do plan if you were to infiltrate the criminal unerhive?"
"I guess one question we haven't considered as of yet, where will be getting off at? Hostile territory, friendly, neutral? I imagine the answer might play a key role on how we approach the situation. If friendly territory at first, deploying the Astartes might not be so troublesome, at least, not at the start." Jean asked, attempting to add to the discussion.
For a brief moment, Draconion's face freezes into a cold mask at Aspin's words. So that's how it's going to be, is it? "Evidently, the good Inquisitor has limited experience operating with Astartes. We of the Codex Chapters are all thoroughly trained in stealth and unconventional operations," he says, smoothly recovering his urbane manner and speaking to the room in general, pointedly not looking at Aspin, "As dictated by the sainted Guilliman's own work. Furthermore, it also appears that the good Inquisitor misheard me - I did mention that I would go sans power armour, which is to say, without." His lips quirk in a faint smile. "We Astartes do not always crawl, either - we are also known to run, jump, hop, skip and occasionally walk unnoticed when the situation warrants."
