"Well, proving ones worth by behaving like a child whose toys were stolen? Unit cohesion and brotherhood in this team will be quite a challange to achieve. I also have another question apothecary: how long do you estimate, will it take for the bionics to be created, will I be combat ready before the next Mission starts?" Amraphel would be were displeased if he couldn't take part in the next mission. Real combat would still be the best training with his new bionics.
Jean nodded at Feron. "I think our friend here has a point. Besides, with how tight the hallway will be on him, I have a feeling having allies in front of him will hinder his ability to move and fight. Potentially endangering us even more that if we just followed him... If it comes down to it. I imagine some of us should be able to get in front of him... Say from under his arms?"
<Sirius Jules - with Sigismund> "SILENCE!" The Apothecary roared in very bad Eldar and pushed the man back down into the bed, grabbing him by his shoulders. "Your name is Sigismund and you are a Human. The memories of Eldar are false! Just a wrong impression!" Sirius tried to clear with low gothic. <Sirius Jules - with Amraphel> "How about you will be ready after the current mission is over, soldier." Sirius countered, shaking his head in disappointment of his words. "You need to stop to believe that your way is the only right way. Not for my sake. Not for Steinars or the teams sake. But your own. If you do not adapt to this special group of individuals, you will die. By nobody less than Marmaroth himself. Nobody leaves the Angelfalls crew alive. Nobody. You see that Steinar is the problem, yet he has found more comrades he trusts his life than you." He repeated, ensuring the Black Shield that this was definite no joke and left the man to his own thoughts. It was not Sirius problem to fix the team cohesion, yet it was his problem to report to Marmaroth.
<Lysander & Leo> "No idea, we weren't under his jurisdiction so he never came to visit us, spending those 3 days they were here in the Cathedral, at least from what I could tell. We only saw Inquisitor's shuttle and one of us lackeys, a criminal type, like an ex-Guardsmen or something. He was the one who told us about the visit in the first place and showed us the badge. That guy's name was...Wade, I think. Reason of their visit was unknown to us, but we later understood it when those monsters came." <Cathedral> The team found their way into the basement. Long stairs and a tunnel, that brought them into a vast underground burial chamber. On one end, they saw a group of robed monks standing in front a pile of bones. Holy sarcophagus broken around their feet, the bones of saints twisted and turned. There were more corridors leaving the chamber, the complex seemingly much vaster than it looked from this place. "What are you doing here!" the old Father demanded, turning towards the trespassers. "This is a sacred place, you have no business in this holy shrine!" They could see that below his robes (and below every single one of them), something like a snake moved. But then, as if to add to the whole situation, the pile of bones in the center of the monks began moving as well... <Marmaroth & Angelous> "You are wrong. Faith is something metaphysical. If I were to give you a proof, a fact, then you would know. But if you would know, you would stop believing. Trying to understand it from your position will never be possible, therefore you will never find what you seek, what you truly seek. Not until you change your stance will you be able to achieve your true potential. Don't get me wrong, questioning one's actions is always needed, at least for me, and you should not confuse faith with faith in me, for I am no God. Now, let us be clear of this place," Marmaroth answered as the last of the bombs was set in place. <Six, Steinar, Kajar, Sitri & Draconion> As always, when it comes to fighting, a big guy will try to crush you with his strength. Death by a thousand cuts was always an option, but Space Marines tend to be more resilient than the others when that tactic is employed. But she wouldn't need it now, when in his attempt to lock her in place, the Wolf forgot that chainblades tend not to work really well against the armor she had, not immediately, and also, she still had her pistol. Autarch brought it up and shot Steinar in point blank range, straight in his head. The effect was immediate as he sunk back, some of the discs finding purchase in his skull and lodging there, knocking him out cold. (OOC I rolled for this and you survived). Draconion's attempt at breaking her into pieces by "sonic boom" was met with success, but not an immediate one. As Autarch got clear of Space Wolf's body, the psychic blast hit her, however her armor's special attributes prevented it for doing much harm then simply staggering her. Imagine her surprise when the next thing she saw was a power blade sticking out of her stomach. Six was behind her (OOC get it, Six on six.....hahahahahha), her charge actually hitting the mark. The Eldar screamed and lashed out with a 360 sword strike, but Kriegswoman was fast enough to evade worst of it, the power blade's tip only managing to open her right cheek from mouth to cheekbone. OOC who writes first can finish her off (Six or Sitri). Kajar is chilling to give you guys a chance to claim the kill
"HERESY We have found taint In this place and on this plant And It Shall be purge By the Holy servants of the emporer and For Either Falling to this heresy or For Not keeping this place pure You Shall be purged also." The marine malevolent yelled as he saw movement below the robes of the monk he tossed his Final grenade aiming for the center of the monks. He then raised his bolt pistol and a began firing upon the monks. "PURGE THE UNCLEAN" he roared as he fired his bolt pistol with one hand and kept his combat knife in the other.
Out of breath and quite dizzy, 232611 simply lacked the energy required to finish off the adversary, instead deactivating the blade, ramming it further inside with all strength that remained, and then grabbing the alien by the shoulders and violently shoving it towards the Astartes designated Sitri, for he was the one she saw in her death frenzy. "Attention, Sitri - Impaled creature!", she forced herself to say despite her state after throwing it forward, collapsing backwards on her rear from exhaustion and nausea immediately after, awake but defeated.
<Feron> Digging his heels in the Salamander bared his teeth, Volorox was already well ahead of his order. "Take to our Brother's example! Tempestus get us a mark on wherever the worst of the disturbances are so we might address them. " Making a break for it himself he hoisted the power hammer high charging toward the pile of bones as they began to shift and squirm like whatever mutation lurked beneath the priest's cloak. "Whatever you're doing here will fail. " He didn't trust the man to be an easy target, whatever mutations might be about him or even sorcery that could easily level the playing field. Diverting his path toward the man he went to circle half way around before diving in with Skull Splitter lashing out to perform in its name sake.
tempestus kicked the farther towards the center of the confusion at the same time the brother threw the grenade with a pout of heavy flamer fire onto them
<Angelous> "Neither is the Emperor." Angelous stated and shook his head. "There are no gods but the gods of chaos. And we are the last bastion against them, given that nobody is capable or ready to do what you are..." The Blood Raven sighed and made sure the bombs were synchronized. + <Steinar 'I wanted that kill' Greywold> Having no chance to evade and his attempt to kill having failed, the Space Wolf fell backwards, his hit against the hard wraithbone floor causing a small shaking, given his enormous weight. One could easily know he was unconscious, due to his lack of harassment. Yet something within his body simply denied him to die, despite the Shuriken in his skull. <Sitri> "Baal sends his regards." The Lord of Destruction smirked under his helmet and shoved the Astartes Knife right between the eyes of the Eldar. He would have used the Meltagun, but it would have probably killed the Imperial Soldier too, and while collateral damage was acceptable among this chapter, he saw no reason to do so. OOC: I am playing the GoT games, couldn't resist....
<Cathedral> OOC Father is on the other side, so you can't really kick him from your position, but I'll act as if you charged. The team opened fire and couple of monks fell under the rain of bullets. Temepstus set couple of them on fire as well, their screams echoing in the chamber. The grenade that was thrown was actually met by one more zealous member, he using his body to shield others from the blast. Feron's charge was intercepted by couple of monks but he pushed them aside with ease, killing them in a big swipe of his new weapon. As he approached the Father, priest's robes shattered and a snake-like thing that was coiled on his belly lashed out at the Salamander, it's maw trying to find a purchase on his body. (OOC you can kill him with your next post). But it was irrelevant. The monks threw themselves freely as they bought time for their Master, the true threat, to manifest itself. From the bones of various Imperial saint a new monster took form, a daemon of ancient Gelorn, finally revealing its face. It was a terror that was defeated and then sealed away beneath the Cathedral. The Inquisitor that Leo told them about was the reason he was set free once again, to sow chaos upon the weak-willed. However, it was banished long time ago by an Imperial paragon with the name of Pietrus. So was it perhaps a mere chance that led Feron into the catacombs of old in search of the relic he had in his arm now, or was it something else? Marmaroth's behavior always allowed room for such doubts (was it not him who spoke the name of Pietrus in the first place), but little did it matter now. What mattered is that the team had a new foe, the one who was quite capable of slaying each and every one of them if he was given a chance to. OOC Boss fight - this is the thing you are dealing with (on picture there are two but you obviously have to deal with only one) http://www.games-workshop.com/en-EU/Morghast-Archai <Six, Steinar, Kajar, Sitri & Draconion> Autarch of Ulthwé fell on the ground, finally meeting her end in battle against her hated foe, Lord of Destruction claiming the kill. They didn't have much time to celebrate since the familiar voice of Chaplain ringed in their vox beads... <Marmaroth & Angelous> "Difference between Gods and Men largely depends upon where is one standing at the time," Marmaroth smiled as he activated his comm, signaling the rest. "This is Marmaroth to the rest of the team. The charges are set. Have you completed your task," he waited for them to answer with affirmative beeps before continuing. "Activate your teleporter beacons, we are going home." After he was made sure that they are ready, he send a message to Jannika that went shortly like this - "Mission completed. Get us out of here."
