Elijah, withstanding yet another salvo of alien weaponry that punched through his armor, stood up and took aim with his missile launcher. The projectile hit home near the center of the Heavy's line and shook the floor, the payload inside of the warhead doing its intended job. Two aliens died from the blast while two more fell beneath, crushed by the masonry. Following his example, Denatus fired off a rad-missile into the crowd and four more aliens were killed, their bodies destroyed by the toxic weaponry. (OOC @Uriel1339 you can kill few ranged Laerans if you wish with your next post).

Arnock ran into the fighters with gusto, slashing left and right while the banner of the Legion stood high in his hands. He was followed by Caphen and two of them carved a bloody path through the aliens, although the death once again didn't seem to trouble the aliens much. They died in droves while selling their lives dearly, the screams of pleasure echoing from their mouths. Caphen received a number of deep slashes that wounded him and damaged his chest armor, while Arnock ate couple of stabs that went through his legs, slowing him to a degree.

Supported by two more Emperor's Children marines, they made good progress into the II level, the Heavy's slowly retreating towards the stairs that led to the I level (OOC remember, I level /= bottom level) although since Elijah's action created a hole in the floor, the marines could always use that and jump down without having to go down the stairs.

As the battle raged on, first casualties on the Emperor's Children side hit them as two marines from the 2nd Company died under alien blades - one of them was overrun by the Laer Infantry and promptly massacred while the second one was cut in two by one of the flyers.

This however didn't seem to bother Isaiah much as he ran into simply began hacking them with such power that he almost broke their ranks on his own. He was a whirling dervish of steel, the paired falax blades proving superior in such close quarters bloody battle, Isaiah covered in his blood and of his enemies looking more like a World Eater than the Emperor's Children. Simple semantics some would say, and they would be correct since it didn't matter that much who was the slaughterer, the only thing that mattered was killing more aliens. In the end, nine aliens were killed by Isaiah alone, rewarding him with a moment of respite to admire his own work and watch how others fared. While he was doing that, he would see that in his adrenaline rush he failed to spot a number of wounds he received, between many smaller cuts around his form the armor on his left arm was completely mangled and useless, although the flesh and muscle beneath still remained undamaged.

Techmarine and his two remaining warriors stood their ground and cut their way through the aliens towards the stairs leading to the II level, which they would probably reach soon. Hadrian on the other hand, was busy slaying his own tally of infantrymen, his score lower than Isaiah's as he only managed to kill five of them with the combination of axe and pistol. However as he fought, a shadow loomed over and one of the flyers speared past him, cutting his side and spinning him around just for another of them to come and grab Hadrian and rise him up in the air with its lower pair of hands. As they flew, two more flyers came at him and started chipping off at his armor, while he was carried towards the lower levels, Laerans probably wanting to take him over to a place where he would be alone and cut him apart.

Keeping it steady, under Davian's guidance the rearguard slowly advanced down the stairs and into the III level. Devastator kept on firing until his clip of frozen rounds went dry, but this "kiting" tactic proved to be quite successful as he herder the aliens and now when they reached the stairs they simply couldn't evade his firing that easily, which slowed them down which in turn, made them an easier targets for the rest of the rearguard. Of course, the big Crushers turned to be the most dangerous ones and one of them, despite the rounds hitting his carapace armor, pushed forward and began tanking it for the rest of the horde, even managing to slice the head off one of the Emperor's Children marines while in a more lucid moment, he threw the spear at Davian and tried to impale him on it, thankfully the Devastator managed to evade it, the weapon only cutting the side of his shoulder pad and ending stuck somewhere behind him.

Theo's grenade went off and took more aliens with it, however his main problem was the big alien in front of him. The creature once again slashed and this time its spear skewered Apothecary's stomach, despite its size the Crusher turned out to be quite fast, pretty much like the rest of his ugly kind. However then Davian's krak grenade hit it and went off, blowing a significant part of its side, as well as two of its arms, making it stagger just for a moment, but the moment was enough for Theo to move in and score the blow. (OOC @Vulpas you can execute the Laer Crusher who attacked you).

"By the golden Aquilla those insectoids are relentless! The only thing stopping them from shooting is to kill them! Finish them and let us move on, we have somewhere to be?!" Elijah complained, getting awfully used to the pain as pain killer chemicals constantly were now filling his body, nulling almost every sensation which caused a slight discomfort to him. But at least with the hole in the way the enemy had to adapt a bit and the shockwaves threw them off their feet, too - their doom was nigh! His Missile Launcher got fed with a Frag Missile once more, now to exterminate the unbalanced aliens, to annihilate them and if his own steadfastness would force him to take more shots, then so be it! The missile barrage would not stop until his hearts would stop!

Laeran Atoll - Center
Hadrian yelled out as he was yanked from his feet, wildly struggling in the grip of a monstrous Laer flyer. Gritting his teeth against the pain of the Laer assaults, watching his blood pour from a multitude of cuts in his armour, Hadrian grabbed one of the grenades from his belt, priming it and bringing his hand up over his chest.

More than pleased with how his new ammunition privileges had ended up serving him Davian can't help but grin with some satisfaction. "Look at them all dying. Look at my own brothers already slowing and limbs sagging... I must keep up the example, show them how it's done. " Neglecting to aid anyone he instead casually opens a channel to speak with Theo. "Brother take out that wounded brute would you? Help the rest I believe they might need it. " Entirely too smug about it he uses his new position on the level to train a flurry of standard bolts in on the horde of Laer infantry while they are cramped up on the stairs and ripe for the slaughter.

OOC: Heavy boltering at them ugly infantry with standards rounds.

Seing Elijah send more missiles into the ranged Laer, Denatus would let as few of the retreating heavies survive, though to shoot another rad missile now would be a bit wastefull for *cleasing* work.
"Frag at the fleeing ones" Denatus called out as he send another frag missile towards the melee heavies.
"But as you said Elijah, we should keep moving forwards" Denatus contenuid, after his missile was let fly he too would start pushing more forwards.

Arnock realized that the biggest threat at the moment were the ranged xenos picking them off with support fire. So he pulled away from the melee attackers and charged right towards the ranged Laers. He would again use his power sword to crave a bloody path right through the middle of the attacks.

"With Pleasure brother." Theo said over the Vox as he got up to face the wounded Laer to finish it. He felt his anger simmering as activated his Nartichanum and his chain sword getting close the insectoid tried to swipe at Theo as he got close for the kill. Bring his sword down on the remaining limb that held the Laers blade he finished making a opening for himself and rought his other fist around and activated his Narthicanum's saw.

Cutting through the Laers neck with his saw and with his own strength he cut of the head of the Xeno quickly and and took a quick sample of the xenos blood as it poured out from it neck. Grabbing the blade that wounded him from the severed limb of the beast and putting it away for sample and research Theo began moving backwards as Davian began firing upon the Laer again.

Hearing from Davian that his brothers needed aid he began moving now focusing more at the situation at handed his brothers needed him and it was his duty to patch them back up! He looked to the runes, His own, Hadrian's and Elijah's were the worst out of the rest of them.

Need to get moving to keep his brothers at top shape. keep them moving so they can all be at there top condition of perfection. Theo thought as he looked to his own wounds he began working and moving as he headed down the stairs to the second level. "On my way down the stairs working on my wounds as I go. Elijah I am coming towards the front to work on Hadrian and you." Theo said through the squads Vox to warn them he was coming down.
