Elijah lowered his Missile Launcher as the enemy was purged, he walked up to Isaiah (@Casavay ) and Caphen, placing a free hand on the pauldron of his younger twin. "Impressive blades, but even more impressive work you do with them. With each deployment it appears as if your power only increases further. Continue to train as hard as you do, and you may be of Rylanor's calibre one day, Isaiah." The older brother said with a deep nod and a helmet-to-helmet touch. His eyes, when the Techmarine arrived, went towards him. But he would leave the talking to Caphen as the squad leader.
the irk that strained itself upon him at the death of the Laer sergeandt was new, though it felt true, he had allready hit it, the sergeandt had just wanted to prove himself without heed. The stain lifted as quick as it arived, Denatus shaking it off, it must simply have been the serpentas spirit, it wanted the marker of the its first kill of somewhat importence. Instead Denatus feld back on an old habit, of going silent for now, seing how it would unfold now that they found a wayward techmarine
"We have encountered nothing but these vile abominations Brother Techmarine. If I may ask, what are you doing down here? We were unaware of any other astartes with this assignment." Caphen asked gesturing towards the techmarine as he was slightly suspicious. Still trying to shake off the anger the enemy had brought to him even though he bested the monster as easily as a meer human.
@EvicusDasan1 Theo smiled as the last of the Laer workers fell, Reloading his spent bolter he put a fresh clip in and heard the biggest of the Laer there leader give a death moan. Wondering to himself Theo wondered if the Laer augmented there warriors some way to feel pleasure instead of pain so they would fight better. "Brothers did those xenos give a death cry of pleasure instead of pain?" Theo asked wondering if his brother heard it to when they thought. He looked to the dead xenos bodies and began examining them and taking samples of blood and organs to develop weapons and contagions against them if they encountered more of there race out in the galaxy. Looking to there weapons and carapace Theo took samples of there outer plates and looked to there weapons. "Request to take samples of the xenos weaponry to be taken back to the legion and analyzed to build defenses against them and to build weapons that will help destroy them quicker." Theo asked looking to the sergeant Caphen. As he heard bolter fire and the heavy steps of another tech marine he looked up to see a group of second company and a tech marine looked to them as they came in. Caphen already answering in a summed up version of what they met down here.
"I have noticed the same... It is equally disturbing as it's annoying. It is like they are mocking with us, as if we are scratching a sweet spot of theirs or something! Wants me to take one of them prisoner and just torture them until they know what truly is pain!" Elijah said growling, having gotten an instant-flashback of earlier when he heard the moaning of the vile alien.
OOC Hope you guys don't mind me a bit pushing faster than usual, just wanted to make up for those few days that I bailed out on ya guys <Tunnels below the Atoll> @DeranVendar @Uriel1339 @Grall_Stonefist @Vulpas @EvicusDasan1 @Casavay @Avenging-Angel @matt23 "We were sent here by Captain Demeter because as soon as we landed, the readings began going off the charts," the Techmarine replied, "I've done some scans and I think that the aliens are trying to overload the main generator and take out the engines holding this island floating. Forces up top are securing generators there but I think they are all connected with one single huge generator and if that one gets sabotaged, we are all doomed. There were more of us coming but the tunnel collapsed and this is all we got now, so we'll have to do. Come, follow me." Taking out some form of the auspex, Techmarine Akaleon and his men led the way forward into one of the tunnel exits and once again they were hiking through the Laer structure, although this time the tunnel was clean of any alien waste. Eventually, they arrived into a huge chamber, much different than the last one they were in. They were on the top of a "cylinder-like" chamber that stretched all the way down to the bottom of the island. If they looked over the railings, since the level they were on was made looking like a ring, they would see that far down on the bottom of the chamber (on the lowest level) was holding a big purple crystal glowing with strange inner light while similar purple mist was covering the floor through which a number of now familiar Laeran engineers worked to carry some sort of equipment off the base of the crystal and into a number of side rooms, their contents hidden from their sight from this high up top. "I think that's the generator we are looking for," the Techmarine pointed at the purple crystal, "I've seen similar gems up on the surface. They must be somehow connected to this one and its imperative we secure it ASAP." While he talked, they could also spot two staircases running from this highest level and into the lower one, by some guess they could see at least four levels to go down until they reached the bottom. What was even worse is that this place was built like some sort of a hive and on each level, even on the one they were standing now, a number of similar tunnel entrances (like they one they used to get there) could be seen, exactly seven on each if anyone was doing the counting. They couldn't see any actual enemies around but they could hear buzzing coming from the lower levels as well as from couple of the tunnels on their level, but at the moment they seemed to be all alone and undetected. OOC: Alright, the objective lies on the lowest level. You can see it from up top, you can even jump all the way down there I guess (the entire chamber is around 70-80 meters in height) although I wouldn't advise it since the place is heavily guarded. The moment you make your move is the moment the Laer will respond and will just keep on coming at you, since this is like a hive and there are lots of them to go around in the side tunnels & chambers. If you need more descriptions of the chamber I'll do it but I can't really draw the picture like before since I don't think I know how to Remember, you need the generator intact or else the whole atoll is going to crash into the sea below. Enemies: IV level (Where you are atm): 0 atm III level: ??? II level: ??? I level: ??? Bottom floor (Objective): 30 Laeran engineers, ??? "Sergeant, I strongly advise against any idea of advancing as one cohesive group. Too easy for them to fortify at lower levels and force us to fight the tide to get down there. We don't have the numbers to realistically occupy every layer of this chamber either. I believe it would be most beneficial to split our forces into three groups and work down at haste layer by layer, a trident strike down to the bottom level and one above it. We push down to the generator and fortify around both it and consolidate forces on a level above so the enemy can't put their all into attacking from one or two fronts. Forward elements should consist of tacticals and assault elements, though not all of them as we will want to keep some blades on hand in each group since we will have targets emerging right into our midst. I also suggest taking Elijah and Denatus with that group as well since their explosives can't be deployed too near to our objective but once they're deployed their missile launchers can be turned upward to support the other two groups. If needed perhaps collapse a few areas behind us, though this is a double edged sword should we need to fall back for any reason. Secondly our center group should include Techmarine Akaleon and the bulk of our own squad to escort him, traveling at speed just behind vanguard whom will be disrupting enemy forces just ahead, only lingering long enough for our rear guard, consisting of perhaps myself and the remaining tacticals, to drop down before they immediately move on. " Taking a quick peek at the situation Davian couldn't help but look toward Caphen before spewing out a number of observations. Taking another once over of the entire area he plots down on a knee, heavy bolter braced at an angle toward the ceiling. "Obviously my plan doesn't leave us in a prime position to retreat but I'm willing to hinge a bet on the fact we'll need to stay here until the assault above is over and outlast everything the aliens can throw at us. They can't have -too- many down here with a full scale invasion happening above their heads. There is also the matter of only driving down one side of the chamber as opposed to both however in this situation I feel splitting ourselves across a wide area rather than just individual, adjacent levels would be too risky since the multitude of openings leave little chance of sneaking down without discovery. Needless to say I think it would suit us best to keep our presence unknown until we're as far down as possible to reduce how long we have to fight on the run. " @EvicusDasan1
Before- "Indeed, I have a theory a possible crazy one, But I think the xenos may have augmented or engineered there warriors to feel pleasure instead of pain, In battle I theorize this could be used to make there warriors more aggressive and want to get into closer fights with enemies and becoming more reckless while also making a somewhat fearless shock trooper.." Theo said before finishing taking samples from the Laer. -Now Theo looked to the large chamber as he heard Davian speak. Readying his bolter as he heard sounds below and looking to Elijah. "Maybe after the mission Elijah some will be left to dissect and for you to tear apart. Plenty down here right now to give us a fair fight" Theo said to his devastator brother as he looked down. Waiting for orders from Caphen.
"As long as we fulfill our missions I do not care too much..." Elijah noted absently, feeling tempted to just jump down there and smash the aliens to pulp with his mere missile launcher or to see what happens if he would shoot a stasis missile on the generator. Technically the Island would make a short dip and throw them off guard, especially once they realize the stasis effect would wear off and the generator would power back up? It was not his call and he would not interfere with the planning of Caphen, nor Davian who made quite an extensive plan. Simply nodding when his name was mentioned. "I will follow whatever order Sergeant Caphen will give." The Devastator ensures his support was given to their rightful leader after Davian was done.
"Your tactical acumen impresses me brother." Caphen said as he smiled under his helmet. Turning to the squad he spoke. "I shall lead the vanguard. Elijah and Denatus you shall be with me along with Arnock and with a few of our brothers here... Isaiah I want you and to escort the Techmarine to the objective. Take whoever you seek fit with you to achieve the objective." Pausing he looked to the remaining men. "The rest of you shall be our rear guard as suggestes by Davian. Do not take this as an insult to your prowess. Every group here is a piece to this puzzle that we must solve. For the Emperor and Fulgrim. Death to their foes."
