Attempting to block the incoming blade and counterstrike Caphen was appalled by such dishonorable tactics. Having to remind himself not all were pure and honorable warriors such as himself. "It is a surprise and an honor to cross blades with Sigismund of the 7th." Caphen said through blood.
~~ Photep ~~ @Colapse & @Vulpas Elijah, like probably everyone, turned to the new group and was somewhat devastated by the news, not wishing to make a scene he instead just spoke in lower tones to the Blood Angels that sat with him. "So much for that... I did not know that the king of wolves and the lord of the Death Guard have that much influence on our beloved Emperor. I wonder if there is more to it? Perhaps he knows the danger of utilizing such techniques? Or there might be just much more pressing matters? To sit in the unknown is one of the worst things, to simply not even know the proper reason nor understand it." He sighed and shook his head in disappointment, having actually looked forward to learn and potentially become part of history.
"Grenades! " Davian called out as he lurched up toward the third trench, dropping down to use it for cover after a brief sprint so he was no longer out in the open. With a flick of wrist his last grenade was sent sailing for left most bunker. "Same as last time Arnock! " Hoisting heavy bolter up to trench's crest he began to chew into the same left side bunker as if the goal to chew it apart fleck by fleck and rock by rock. All the while he was working his way nearer to one of the downed Ultramarine 'corpses' to harvest for extra grenades and perhaps, if he was feeling dangerous, a second heavy bolter. OOC: Last grenade and heavy bolter aimed at left bunker.
Motivated by his previous successes, Isaiah smiled, and proceeded to move quickly around the stoic Astartes, hoping for another blow of this magnitude. Utilizing his deft footwork, he once more attempted to flank the man as a one-Astartes cavalry charge, going into the offense.
Damned, he was quick as expected, Denatus just kept his silence, the taunts did not really matter to him, if he had been slow on his leg work, then it would have been second blood by now. Then and idea struck him, with the hammer back up and spinning counter-clockwise, Denatus feinted that he got into a slight imbalance with his weapon, learning on the side as though to need a moment to rebalance himself, now just if the nightlord would try and react, then Denatus would smash the hammer down upon him, if not, he would just have to throw it again, now he could really feel that he was a novice of this weapon
@Uriel1339 "Possibly, likely our father would know more of this debate then us, and who would want it stopped. Question brother blood angels what is the debate over this Librarius?" Theo asked looking to the two blood angels now curious about it being the event being canceled.
<Fighting pits aboard the "Conqueror"> @Grall_Stonefist @Casavay @EvicusDasan1 OOC There won't be semifinals and finals, I thought of something else that should be more interesting than simple dueling I'll do a small introduction once every combat is over since you'll be moving to central arena now I - @EvicusDasan1 Sigismund's blade flashed across Caphen's chest, him being unable to block the attack in time. The blood was spilled and he saw as his opponent, kept on going through the momentum, opening himself for retaliation in order to make the next attack even more devastating. It was clear that this warrior was way past Caphen's skill at the moment which wasn't really something to be angry about since he would later learn that there were precious few among the legions who could actually stand against the First Captain of the Imperial Fists in 1 on 1 duel. Even as Caphen stabbed forward into Sigismund's stomach, he saw the black sword crashing downward and it hit him on his shoulder close to his neck, biting the bone. The third blood was there and Sigismund, seeing that as well, whirled backward and creating the distance, before holstering his sword on his back and bowing to Caphen. "Good fight brother Sergeant. Keep it up and I foresee a bright future for you." Ending with that, Sigismund walked out of the pit as the World Eater announced the victor, making the crowd cheer. Caphen was left with walking out as well and meeting up with the rest of his brothers if any of them finished their duels, or going back up to the two Captains who greeted them in the first place, since he saw one of them, the Word Bearer, waving him to come over. Caphen 1 - 3 Sigismund. Sigismund wins and moves into final showdown. II - @Casavay Isaiah charged and his first attack was barely deflected, Temeter having trouble matching Emperor's Children's swift movement. Job was on the fire now and it was clear nothing would stop him as he adjusted his approach and stabbed slow, hitting the Death Guard on the side, right above his kidney and scoring a third blood. Ullis was half in his next move when he saw that he suffered another wound, apparently not feeling anything particular in the way of pain and he simply stepped away and shrugged, before dropping the halberd on the ground and walking out. "Will you look at that!" World Eater announcer shouted once the battle was over, "Isaiah the Flawless wins again!" Isaiah 3 - 0 Ullis Temeter. Flawless victory (again). Isaiah moves into final showdown. III - @Grall_Stonefist Malcharion fell for it and moved in, too late to see the hammer flying towards his head. Night Lord was indeed quick and he evaded getting his skull pulverized but the weapon hit him twice, once on the shoulder and second time on his arm, the pain forcing him to drop his axe, although this one was a tough bastard and despite getting wounded, he managed to stab forward and catch Denatus on his chin with his sword, drawing another blood before jumping away, although this time not looking that great. Denatus 2 - 2 Malcharion <"Photep"> @Uriel1339 @Vulpas "Well it's all about that psyker gene and the usage of warp to our own desires," a Thousand Sons marine walked over to them, overhearing Theo's question and Elijah would see it was the same marine who welcomed him on the ship, the one calling himself Iskander Khayon. "You probably know that on our crusades, many legions encountered aliens who employ strange powers, mostly of destructive nature. For instance, eldar are known to be quite skilled in the art. And often, there are no ways for some of our cousins to reply to this ever-present threat because in most of the legions, those with affinity for the art are usually either killed or forced to suppress their nature because somebody tell them to do that." "Seeing the problem and due to the fact our Lord Magnus is well versed in the arcana, alongside Lords Sanguinius and Jaghatai we have devised a plan to for special ranks within the legions called the Librarians. Those individuals would study the lore and train their mind in order to better combat the enemy and thus better serve the Emperor. However this petition has found itself staunch enemies, mostly Leman Russ and Mortarion, who call us sorcerers and warlocks, that our desire to knowledge and improvement is something to be shied of. Classic misconception and some would even say hypocrisy because for instance, Space Wolfs do have warriors called Wolf Priests in their ranks who use the powers of the warp on their own, but they call that completely normal and a sort of a tradition, while our work is judged and spat upon." <"Macragge's Honor"> @DeranVendar @Avenging-Angel @matt23 Forrix was the one who suffered next couple of shots, making his terminator armor slowly coming to a halt. "Well that's just great," he cursed for a moment after his arms failed to obey his command, thus preventing him from opening fire on the two remaining Ultramarines. Thankfully, Arnock was there and he scored a beautiful hit as he advanced, sniping one of the Ultramarines and hitting him in his helmet, taking him out. Both his and Davian's grenade blew a part of the bunker open, stealing any cover the last Ultramarine had right before Davian hit him with couple of long ranged shots that impacted on the man's chest, him dropping down next to their objective. "Go, you take the banner," Abaddon said as he reloaded his storm bolter, since there was no more immediate danger he turned around to help the Iron Warrior's Captain and reset his suit. There was also not much cheering coming from the balcony, except few shouts from Korda and couple of Justaerin. Most of the insulting was prevented by presence of Primarch Guilliman, who patiently alongside his men, waited for the end of the battle and its inevitable conclusion. OOC Some of you take the banner from the stand, there are no traps around it. All Ultramarines are down. Also, somebody should help Hadrian as well Once you emote the conclusion (if you wish), I'll end this battle with a proper post
Arnock ran out of the bunker once he saw the last Ultramarine go down. Once he entered the bunker he slowed, taking a moment to enjoy the feeling. It would be symbolic that one standard bearer was the one to take their standard down. He emerged from the bunker with their standard merely hanging at his side. He did not let their standard but the ground, however; as that would dishonor his own Legion by showing that little respect. So, with the Ultramarines' standard hung low, he raised his the standard of the 3rd Legion, the Emperor's Children. He held it there as he looked to everyone in the crowd. After he had finished hoisting the standard of the 3rd Legion, he walked over by where the Captain of the Ultramarines still laid. He planted the pole into the ground so it would stand up on its own. He then reached down and helped the Captain up, taking the Captain's hand and placing on the pole so he may hold it. "You fought good, Captain. Hold your standard with pride."
here it was, they had both drawn blood twice, though all and every could see whom had actually done more than grazing attacks, the cut across his chin had been especially infuriating, atleast he had halfway disarmed the nightlord, not bad seing that he was indeed fighting a captain, though he was here to win, not to fall out now. with the hammer back up and spinning, he had to be smart, the nightlord was fast, very fast, and he wouldent fall for to a feint once more. Instead Denatus slowly moved forwards, he kept most of the swing weight in a single hand, the other still on the chain, but ready to quickly grab back and draw the combat knife if needed and he had the time to react so. "Not so many words now huh, are you scared of me already" Denatus goated the nightlord, his throw would have to be reactionary, now just to get something out of his opponent
~~ Photep ~~ @Colapse & @Vulpas "I doubt Father Fulgrim is too much involved, by the sounds of it, brother Theo." Elijah said reserved, not wishing to bring their Primarch into this mess. A proper report will be performed and given to the higher ups like a good soldier does, not simply walk up to their ruling lord and annoy him with policies outside of his legion. There were proper protocols to be followed. Then the Thousand Son came and shed more light on the matter. "Preposterous!" Elijah started with passion. "Indeed the Wolf Brothers should have more respect, but it seems they are merely jealous that someone else could excel them in whatever arts they follow. It is evident that neither your legion, nor your father will give up on that matter, and as such, as outsider, I can only suggest that you shall make valid claims of that the art is already being produced, as well as the fact that we at least need to understand it in order to counter our foes appropriately. It may not lead to your desired goals from the start, but. It will start a path of tolerance to the knowledge and the more the bias is removed from the minds of the many, then, you may go into the next stage and introduce proper Librarians. However, I am certain that wiser men than I among you already have thought of the very same agenda, elsewise this meeting would not be happening." The Emperor's Child smiled soft and nodded at the Thousand Son in attempt to give him confidence that today may not be the day, but it shall come. "Even more so you should try to convince neutral elements on the topic to support you and to make others realize that there is a slight, if even no difference between Space Wolf magicks and your proposed solution of controlling the warp. The parties are established, the opposition being the Death Guard and the Space Wolves. The proposers being Thousand Sons, Blood Angels and White Scars. But there are many more legions with a lot of weight. The Ultramarines, Imperial Fists and obviously the Luna Wolves would make an excellent start to sway. The Imperial Fists are stubborn as is their father, convince them, and they will never change their mind again. The Ultramarines are many and Guilliman is a man of absolute logic and reason but agile enough to understand new methods are required. And Horus, rumor has it he is the most beloved of all Primarchs by the Emperor, once his men desire such thing and can also convince him to see into this matter, then surely there is no stopping your plans anymore. Then again, that would the most ideal of all outcomes and I am nothing but a mere Devastator who just even learned what a Librarian is."
