Hm, a Night lord, pretty much the Exact opposite to his former oponent in every way, taunting, quick, surely fighting dirty, hoping to intimidate with rank and words. Denatus hammer was allready spinning. "I properbly would have done the same, seing a destroyer hammer his own face" Denatus answered with a confident smirk, he was not playing the game of the nightlords game. Then with a sudden move, he made the hammer fly in a swing allmost mirroring the strike that had started the first match, though Denatus knew the nightlord would properbly evade such a wide strike, even with the great speed of the hammer, so he prepared to do what he failed before, if the nightlord succesfully evaded, he would jank the chain and keep Its momentum up, as long as t was moving, he was dangerus to get close to.
Macragge's Honour Taking the Ultramarine's weaponry, you can never be too careful, Hadrian burst from the bunker, a bolt pistol in each hand. He knew he didn't have to carry the assault but just keep the Ultramarines' heads down. [OOC: Electro-bolt attack against the Ultramarines.]
@DeranVendar Arnock did not ignore a brother of the Legion. He paused his firing and took a grenade from his waist. He then primed the grenade and threw it towards the right side of the trio firing from the trench. He then quickly transitioned back to his bolter and again, began to fire on the marine running back towards his squad. He would not let him regroup to bolster their numbers.
"I would like to know who it is I am fighting." Caphen said before moving towards his opponent. His blade still twirling occasionally. The legionnaire dashed forwards attempting to slash the man's arm. And so another round of glorious combat began
~~ Photep ~~ @Colapse & @Vulpas "I believe I am more surprised on this sight than you, cousin of the red tear drop!" Elijah exclaimed with a smile, waving Theo as well over. Indeed he was surprised to see the Apothecary, once he was closer he would ask with a serious face. "I overheard back in the armory you inquired on Rylanor's status, did you find out anything more, Brother Apothecary?" He didn't want to bring doom and gloom to the table, but he was an Apothecary and it was his duty to check on the wounded of the legion.
@Uriel1339 "I have news brother Elijah of his status, Rylanor has survived and will return to battlefield among our legion though now he has been put in a contemptor pattern dreadnought, He is currently getting used to his new body and will likely remaster his movements as he spends further time in his new body." Theo said looking to Elijah, He could see two blood angels arleady seated good to see his brother getting along with there fellow brother legions.
~~ Photep ~~ @Colapse & @Vulpas "That is good to hear. It would have been a true tragedy would we have lost him. I am certain you should let Iron Father Korda know before the council here begins. Perhaps just transmit it to an Iron Hands ship and have a serf of theirs carry the message to him. Rylanor and Korda are close brothers, just as I hope to bond by their example amongst our others. But make it swift, it appears First Captain Ahzek Ahriman himself will lead this conversation about the mystics of the Librarians, as the Blood Angel Captains Thoros and Galan here report." Elijah gestured to Thoros and Galan each respectively.
"My name is Job", murmurs the 'Swiftblade' to himself angrily as he readies himself to fight the Death Guard. His spear's point again directed towards the silent warrior's neck, Isaiah found himself hastily thinking about his tactical situation. The XIV Legion was known for their more than steadfast defense, and so, he figured that a direct attack would be a bad idea. But on the other hand, describing Temeter's approach as inexorable wouldn't have done it justice, and based on their arms, he just knew he could not fight defensively without risking being disarmed and soundly defeated. He found himself once more thinking of their differences in Legion tactics as, instead, of bracing for impact or frontally assaulting, Isaiah quickly moved towards his enemy, circling around him at the same time, hoping that he could attack him from an angle and dodge halberd strikes more easily.
<Fighting pits aboard the "Conqueror"> @Grall_Stonefist @Casavay @EvicusDasan1 I - @EvicusDasan1 "I am Sigismund of the 7th," the warrior replied, "And you have to be faster than that." Seeing the attack, Sigismund brought his own blade down one-handed and smashed Caphen's sword aside before he threw a left hook at his face, smacking him in the chin and making him stumble backwards, spitting blood. The was no respite as the warrior pressed forward now, using the momentum he brought his black blade upward, which would, if they were in real combat condition, open Caphen's body from his stomach to his neck. Caphen 0 - 1 Sigismund II - @Casavay OOC if there is one thing constant in the RPs where I did little bit of dice rolling, it's that @Casavay always preforms the best I know it's probably getting boring by now but damn, for this tournament every single roll I made for him was 17+ on d20. Because of that, I thought of a proper nickname as a reward after this battle Temeter was perhaps a Captain and well-versed in fighting with a halberd, but even he wasn't prepared for Isaiah's supernatural skill. Halberd flashed but Job easily sidestepped the blow, countering with his own. The spear tip came from the side and hit Death Guard's collar bone, drawing blood. Temeter tried to smack it away with a return strike, however Isaiah proved to be too fast and added another blow in quick succession, this one catching the side of Temeter's neck. Grunting, the Death Guard Captain took a step backward and brought his weapon up in defensive stance, apparently not so sure in his own dominance anymore. Isaiah 2 - 0 Ullis Temeter III - @Grall_Stonefist The first strike went flying past Malcharion, as Destroyer suspected, the Night Lord had no problem evading the attack, However instead of attacking, he simply moved to the side in order to evade the return swing, which once again missed him. Grinning, he kept on circling against Denatus, his weapons at the ready. But when Denatus kept on moving and swung his meteor hammer once again, Malcharion rolled below it and crossed the distance in an instant, slashing twice with his sword and axe. Denatus was quick to dodge one strike aimed at his legs but he couldn't dodge both and he felt a sharp sting below his right knee where the axe pierced his skin. Instead of sticking around after the successful attack, Malcharion pounced to the side, once again creating the distance between himself and the Emperor's Children marine. "You need to be quicker on your legs Destroyer, but I guess your Sergeant didn't teach you that." Denatus 0 - 1 Malcharion <"Photep"> @Uriel1339 @Vulpas As they conversed, a group of Astartes entered the room, all in the crimson robes of the Thousand Sons legion, all except the one leading them. By the various markings on his artificed power armor and the noble stance, it was clear that they were looking at First Captain Ahzek Ahriman, although by the looks of him, he didn't seem to be in the best of moods, the fact quickly confirmed moments later once every eye in the room was upon him. "My brothers and my cousins, the debate we long prepared for will not happen today," a roar of unsatisfied marines echoed across the banquet hall, "As you know, the Emperor had at first blessed us to continue our work, but now it seems his mind has changed, possibly due to Leman Russ's and Mortarion's interference. They call us sorcerers, warlocks and false magicians, when in truth their minds are clouded with superstition and false judgement. However, the schism runs too deep on this matter and the Emperor decided to act and decide this matter once and for all, but not now and not here." "As far as I understand, they are still looking for the place but I don't suspect for the search to last for long, so expect the conclusion of this story happening in at least a year from now. It saddens me greatly that Lords Magnus, Sanguinius and Jaghatai couldn't petition their father to deal with that now, because we were ready to speak up, but I guess we'll be ready to do so again. Now continue with the feast and let us celebrate that there is still a chance for the new dawn of the Librarius." With that said, Ahriman also sat down behind one of the tables next to the kinsmen from the White Scars and the dialogue began anew. <"Macragge's Honor"> @DeranVendar @Avenging-Angel @matt23 As Hadrian burst from the bunker, he found out that this time, Ultramarines were waiting on him. His choice at staying at range and opening fire with his pistols proved to be his undoing as he only managed to keep one of the Devastators down, the second Devastator kept firing on the advancing friendlies while Captain Corvo took aim with his own pistol and retaliated on the Assault Marine. Two shots hit him square in the chest and the third one hit him right in his forehead, taking out the "electronics" and knocking him down on the ground, his suit of armor effectively locked out. Abaddon saw this and snarled, unhappy with the performance and even more unhappy as the Devastators regained their composure and continued with their firing, Forrix and Arnock suffering the worst of it as their armor slowly slowed down, couple of more shots and they would be out of the battle as well. Arnock thankfully managed to throw the grenade which momentarily stopped the Ultramarines from firing but his aim with the bolter was way off, the running marine missed by quite a margin. However Forrix was right next to him and he saw standard bearer's aim failing, so he added a little bit of his own. First Captain of the Iron Warriors was successful where Arnock wasn't and couple of rounds hit running Ultramarine in the legs, slowing him down while the final burst took him directly in the power unit on his backpack, dropping him "dead" on the ground. As it turned out, Davian shined in this battle the most as his grenade fell right on top of one of the Devastators, shattering his armor's systems and knocking him out while a "lucky" shot found the second Devastator's helmet the moment he got up, taking another of his "colleagues" down. His precise firing allowed Abaddon to move in to the trench with surprising speed given the fact he wore such heavy armor. Captain Corvo, seeing the predicament he was in, jumped out of the trench and pulled out his sword, aiming the tip at Abaddon. "As one Captain to another, I challenge..." and his voice was silenced as Abaddon unloaded half of his storm bolter's clip into Corvo, riddling him with electro-bolts and making his body twitch as he was electrocuted. "This is not a game, fool," First Captain of the Luna Wolves spat on Corvo's smoking form (who is still alive although now knocked out and properly barbecued) and advanced past him into the third trench. "FORWARD BROTHERS! OUR VICTORY IS AT HAND!" he shouted as last two remaining Ultramarines appeared in the slots of the bunker on top of which the banner was flying and opened fire, but to little actual success.
Arnock grew tired of his continued failures so far in combat. It was infuriating that his skills were being show as nothing more than mediocre in front of such an influential crowd. It was all to easy to see that if the three of the Emperor's Children did not shine, then this victory would merely be seen as Abaddon's and Forrix's victory and not theirs. So Arnock again took a deep breath and began to fire on the right Ultramarine. He again fired in burst so as to remain accurate. He then threw his last grenade at the building where the cowards had fallen back to.
