"It is a honor, Champion Rylanor, I came to check up on your health after the mission you were put into a medical tank and wanted to see what condition you were in, How are you feeling after being put in there?" Theo asked wondering what Rylanor was feeling like.
<"Pride of the Emperor" - Apothecarion> @Vulpas "It feels strange...I need to get used to this new body of mine," Ancient Rylanor replied and shifted on his metallic feet. "Tell me young Theo...what happened on that planet after I was knocked out? Did you kill the Xenos and avenged me? Did everyone make it out alive?" <Fighting pits aboard the "Conqueror"> @Grall_Stonefist @Casavay @EvicusDasan1 I - @EvicusDasan1 White Scar anticipated Caphen's move and corrected his charge, making Emperor's Children Sergeant miss his leg by couple of inches before he used the reach his bigger weapon gave him and slashed Caphen's biceps, drawing a line of blood. Caphen 0 - 1 Shin Dunn II - @Casavay Dark Angel pushed forward and tried to smash Isaiah's spear aside however he underestimated younger Job's agility as the spear flew past his guard and straight into the side of his neck, making him lose blood and creating a new scar. "You'll pay for this!" Paladin growled as he took a step back, only to once again pounce forward, this time going straight at Isaiah in order to try and bash him with his shield. Isaiah 1 - 0 Corswain III - @Grall_Stonefist Meteor hammer came at the Pyre Guard and the veteran braced himself as he brought his shield up, however such was the nature of the weapons tied to a chain that their trajectory couldn't be that easily anticipated. The chained ball struck past Salamander's guard and hit him twice, once in the shoulder and the second time grazed his bald head, making Skava'tar grunt in pain. However such was his tenacity that he pushed straight through and barreled into Denatus, bashing him with a shield and creating an opening for him to throw a punch with his hammer which caught the Destroyer directly in his chest, throwing all air out of his lungs and making him bleed. Denatus 2 - 1 Skava'tar <"Photep"> @Uriel1339 "An excellent observation brother!" the first Blood Angel clapped a hand against the mosaic and gave him a toast with his wine glass. "An artist and a warrior, the perfect combination if you ask me and now I understand why they sent you here, because I didn't know Lord Fulgrim was interested in supporting our cause. Allow me to introduce us - I am Captain Thoros and this is Captain Galan, and we are most pleased to see you here. Tell me, what is your view on the topic of Librarius, brother...?" OOC note - this is happening before the Council in Nikaea <"Macragge's Honor"> @DeranVendar @Avenging-Angel @matt23 "Then it is settled," Abaddon replied and Ultramarine announcer had nothing else to add, so he bid them to follow him, leaving the rest of Justaerin and Iron Father Korda behind on the balcony to spectate the upcoming battle. They were led downstairs into a big armory with many serfs and servitors working around to polish the armor and presented weapons while also bowing in front of them, making both Forrix and Abaddon throw a vicious smile at the presentation. "Here is the ammo you'll be using," Ultramarine pointed them to a nearby crate filled with modified bolt rounds, "It's a special modification that will cause small electric discharge on impact that, after enough rounds have scored a hit or a vital area had been hit such as head, chest or neck, will knock out the systems in your power armor and cripple you, simulating death. We also have grenades which cause the similar effect in that crate over there and you can each take two if you wish. Final thing - you can use your melee weapons to try and knock out your opponent but please, keep the power field off since we don't want to have casualties here." Ultramarine finished and was just about to lead them to the door leading into the improvised battlefield when he received news on his vox that made him nod couple of times. "There has been a change in plans. Captain Corvo was informed that there is an Emperor's Children force here carrying lauded old banner of the legion, he felt that a simple hostage rescue scenario was unfit for such occasion. Instead, he had brought out the banner of the 9th Chapter, his own Chapter, in order to be used here. The new parameters are simple - you will attack the fortification and try to take the banner while Corvo and his men try to defend it and take your banner from you - a little bit modified capture the flag scenario? I hope this is satisfactory? "If so, get ready and walk through that door, it will lead you outside into the battlefield. Captain's men are on the far side of it, arranged around couple of bunkers and waiting for you. Good luck." With that said, Ultramarine veteran left them in the armory and went back up the stairs, no doubt to get to the balcony himself in order to spectate the following bout. "So, what are your orders Arnock?" Forrix asked while he was getting bolts for his storm bolter, getting a nod from Abaddon as well, "Or any of you three for that matter. You are calling the shots here, after all, you came here first and you are in majority I guess." OOC you can emote getting ammo & grenades and getting outside in the open, organize the tactics etc, Ultramarines are hidden at the moment and won't fire on you in the first turn. Here's the map to make it easier:
~~ Photep ~~ @Colapse "I fear I have to disappoint you as I was not sent, captains." Elijah said honestly. "I merely desired to get a break from the endless war and be surrounded by those who can only feel better through having greater achievements in combat than one another. As Devastator I may not get as much glory as an Assault Marine. But my part is no less important." He smiled softly, that revelation made himself feel better. "As of the topic of Librarians, I fear I am not all too educated on that matter. It would be foolish to express my opinion with the lack of knowledge. However, I came for reasons like this today. To learn and understand others, in order so I can view myself more critically and learn what I need to further improve. Also. I have made friends among the Iron Hands." He gave his Bionic Legs a gentle slap. "And I thought, why not extend the friendship to other cousins."
Caphen cursed himself for such a misstep and took a step backwards to regain his focus. Strafing side to side Caphen lunged towards the marine's shoulder determining if he was robbed of the use of one arm at the very least he would be wielding his great weapon very slowly.
being stricken with a hammer with the force to make you bleed was a painfull and breath robbing experiance. Denatus took steps back, and tried to stay out of imidiat reach of the pyre guard, then with a pull and a lowering of his head, he had the ball spinning again, he was certain that the salemander wouldent let the same happen twice, but perhaps another strategy, swinging the ball faster, Denatus let it fly, atempting to throw it at the salemanders upper body and head, if blocked atleast it would have power, if dodged, then Denatus would pull back with all if his might to try and hit on the return swing.
"They're expecting us to play the part of aggressor here and I see little reason why we shouldn't play into that immediately. " Davian was doing remarkably well at maintaining his composure around the likes of Forrix and Abaddon, finding it helped just not to look at the latter for any longer than was necessary to show respect. "As it stands we've got resilience and close combat clout, they've an advantage in numbers, speed and the rest is all unknown till we see troop make up. Ultramarines are fairly adaptable, or at least prepared for most things so we're going to need to make things up as we go. As it stands for our initial advance I say we push mid-field, flush them out of any fortifications with grenades and then use those same buildings to divide their forces and anchor any particularly vulnerable side in the event they attempt a counter attack. Past mid-field rinse and repeat, whenever the plan is foiled we adapt as best we can. Though before anything I think we would all like to hear your thoughts on the matter Forrix, believe this is something of your legion's specialty yes? " Clamping a pair of shock grenades to his belt Davian kneels off to the side loading up ammo backpack with electro bolts.
"The team that wen't to the temple with you made it back, Iron father Korda came in with reinforcements and took the second group of xenos off guard along, with the bomb our destroyer used on himself, There leader though fled before we could pursue but we were able to take out a majority of them due to our destroyers actions. Only two of the first group of xenos escaped due to our actions. A child and the witch escaped.." Theo said the last part he said with guilt for feeling of letting the xenos that caused this escape now regretting it. "Though they will now remember if they ever go after the emperor's children they will fall to us." Theo said.
Arnock merely listened as he grabbed and loaded up on the special ammunition. These new rules if this game were very dangerous in his mind. To take the standard of another Legion? This is borderline treason, and if he were to lose the standard, his fate would be sealed. This was no longer a game to him. The only option was victory, and to do anything but would be a failure. The thoughts weighed heavy on his mind as he continued to listen to the plans being discussed around him.
Macragge's Honour @DeranVendar | Picking the special clips and grenades pointed out by the Ultramarine Hadrian went over what had been told. A modified game of capture the flag using Legion banners? Slotting clips into each of his bolt pistols the Assault Marine glanced at the other members of the five-person team. "It does us no good if the Ultramarines get past us and take the banner. Someone, either you or our honoured guests, should be kept back to protect our banner."
"Considering Arnock will still be carrying it and they've got a numerical advantage and thus expendable bodies to work with I think maintaining full force cohesion would do us a better service brother. If I was left alone with a planted banner and a small team or pair slipped past there is no telling what they could cook up. "
