Joining his brothers at the railing Hadrian looked out over the 'battlefield', using the time to assess the crowd as well. If they were cheering me... The thought and possibility filled the Marine with pride and he straightened, hearing his combined weapons clang against each other. With or without help the three of them would be able to defeat the hide-bound Ultramarines!

Isaiah simply bowed to the Astartes' instructions - recognizing the name of Khârn, at the very least, who was known for his wisdom among the Legions - and replied with a "Thank you, and may the best warrior win" before moving to inspect the weapon racks, hands still clutching his chosen spear. Yes, those swordsmen he aspired to were primarily swordsmen, but there was still honour and skill in using a spear, and he remained excited to test it out, even if not lethally.

The first chance Theo got after Fabius, was finished working with the delicate Betchers gland. Theo approached his senior. "Sir Fabius, Could I ask you a question. Recently our champion Rylanor was critically wounded on a mission, I was with him on, Can I ask you what his current condition is?" Theo asked Fabius as he looked to him.

"Sure, come with me," Fabius replied to Theo and led him deeper into the Apothecarion, past the various wounded marines and humans. After passing a thick bulkhead Fabius and Theo arrived in a wide chamber with many different machines in, somewhat less lit than the rest of the ship. "Ancient Rylanor," Fabius shouted into the darkness beyond, "Come, you have visitors."

On those words something stirred in the back and Theo felt floor shaking as something huge approached them. He saw two red eyes in the distance looming over him and a massive form that could in no way be Rylanor. "Behold brother, our Champion lives again!" Fabius said in feverish tone as Contemptor Dreadnought stepped forward, bearing various battle honors Theo saw on Rylanor's power armor.

"Greetings Theo," Dreadnought spoke, his tone flat and metallic, "I survived and I'm able to fight again in the glory of Fulgrim and our legion, and I heard I had to thank you for that. You have my thanks young one, and may the Emperor watch over you!"

OOC quick overview of the rules:
    - you are fighting without your armor
    - he who scores 3 hits on his enemy and draws 3 bloods wins
    - it's a knockout system, so if you lose you are out
    - fights will happen simultaneously so nobody has to wait for anyone
    - if someone finishes their fight before others, he can go and spectate them
    - I'm doing the rolls :)
    - Good luck and may the best gladiator win!

Once Kargos saw the newcomers, he laughed and spat on the ground as they got themselves ready for combat. "So Kharn sends me rookies now? Or is Eidolon once again in one of his girly moods and sends you out here to die? Did you wrong him somehow, come on you can tell old Kargos everything? BAH! WHO CARES!" World Eater pushed all of them in direction of the three entrances, not looking particularly concerned about them. "Go now, enter the arenas and try not to lose too many limbs, it will be really hard to find proper bionics for a bunch of pretty boys like you!"

    I - @EvicusDasan1

First who found his way onto the red sands was Caphen. He was armed with a weapon of his choosing and he could see that the great crowd gathered in the stands above. A single World Eater with many grisly trophies hanging across his belt stepped forward up in the crowd and shouted. "Tonight we have a true spectacle in our little arena. Sergeant Caphen of the Emperor's Children, pretty boy from Chemos is fighting against a true savage, one that could almost warm my heart, if I had one!" laughter broke and across the arena, Caphen saw a tall White Scar entering, who hefted a long and sleek two-handed sword. "His name is Shin Dunn, a Sergeant of the V legion and a true son of Chogoris! May the best warrior win!"

Nodding in greeting, the White Scar brought his sword down and charged Caphen instantly, bringing his great sword in a crushing diagonal arc that was aimed at Caphen's shoulder.

    II - @Casavay

Isaiah was next and he received similar greeting from the mob, a mix of cheers and boos which silenced once the World Eater speaker came up. "Second out of three sons of Fulgrim who deemed us worthy of presence tonight, I present to you Brother Isaiah, a spear-novice!" once again more laughter which allowed for his opponent to enter the arena, a dark-haired man carrying sword and shield.

"His enemy tonight will be Paladin Corswain from the mystic Dark Angels, famous for his skill at killing various wildlife on his equally mystic forest homeworld!" obviously, World Eaters didn't care much about honoring their guests, or at least not before they deserved such honor. "May the best warrior win!"

With that, Corswain sneered at Isaiah, the hostility clear in his dark eyes, and slowly began circling around him as if wanting to check his style before fully committing.

    III - @Grall_Stonefist

"Finally, we have a third combatant hailing from the III legion!" World Eater shouted as Denatus entered the arena, "By the looks of him, he must be a Destroyer or they switched his gene-seed at birth!" at the same time, his opponent entered the arena as well and Denatus saw even before the announcer spoke who he was fighting against. A dark-skinned warrior carrying tower shield paired with a one-handed hammer bowed to him and offered a friendly smile. "Behold, Destroyer Denatus of the Emperor's Children fights Pyre Guard Skata'var of the Salamanders! May the best warrior win!"

"Good luck brother Denatus," Skata'var spoke and raised his tower shield in a guard and slowly began advancing forward.

"Hm, the painter did a lousy job if you ask me, looks like some kind of fantasy crap," Elijah heard one of the two Blood Angels spoke, all of them dressed in red robes and holding cups filled with wine. At the moment, they were busing themselves with staring into a mosaic of some long dead hero of the Thousand Sons who was described fighting against some sort of vile and strange creatures with awkwardly shaped tentacles, most of them looking unlike anything Elijah saw or knew existed.

"It's a metaphor brother Galan, it's not supposed to be realistic," the other one replied before taking a gulp of wine. "Artist must express his feeling somehow and in most cases, it can be strange for a normal eye to grasp what the mind behind wanted to create," as he spoke, Blood Angel saw Elijah behind them and waved him over, "Don't you agree brother from the Emperor's Children? I always understood that your kind also has great appreciation for art?"

    <"Macragge's Honor"> @DeranVendar @Avenging-Angel @matt23

"You are accepted, honorable warriors from the Emperor's Children," the Ultramarine veteran spoke but he then raised an eyebrow after hearing Arnock's words. "Ah, but this competition is done in five on five format, and even if Captain Forrix accepts to accompany you, you would still lack one because I'm saddened to inform you that we do not accept specialized troops like an Iron Father. My apologies."

Ultramarine began turning away at the same time as Korda shouted something about his honor when all of them heard heavy footsteps coming from the stairs followed by deep and guttural voice of a man who was used to order others. "I'll take the fifth spot, that is if the Emperor's Children agree."

The voice belonged to a warrior armored in black custom-made terminator armor, for a normal version of Cataphractii armor was too small for such a monster of a man. He was taller than all of them, even bigger than Forrix who wore similar equipment, his face twisted in an angry growl while a distinctive high topknot adorned his else bald head. It was a face of a warrior king, a killer, a merciless conqueror, a despoiler. His name was Ezekyle Abaddon, First Captain of the Luna Wolves and in that legion second only to Horus in his war craft.

He was followed by a cadre of black-armored Luna Wolves terminator elite, the so-called Justaerin, and their presence had an unnerving effect on the mortals present on the balcony as well as the Ultramarine veteran. "Well, there are no rules against you joining my Lord, but due to yours and Forrix's armor, we will have to add two more brothers to fight on Captain's Corvo's side."

The words made Abaddon and few of his men chuckle, one of them, with a face of a cold-blooded killer, even spoke. "Only two?"

OOC if you accept these two terminators (Forrix and Abaddon) to join you, I'll start the battle with my next post :)

"Art can be very abstract." Elijah started, agreeing before bowing to introduce himself. "My name is Elijah Job. As for the work. I saw always that each piece of art deserves to be judged by it's own, but that it is important to understand the purpose of the piece, the creator's life as well as the content of the piece of art. If the purpose is to inspire, we often see far more vicious enemies slain than they really are. If the purpose is to entertain or push someone into thinking and interpreting, we see often abstract, unrealistic shapes and forms, things we know they should not exist, yet they happen before our very eye."

"The creator is a whole variation that can vary... Extremely. For example. A Dark Angel would use darker colors to display the mysticism practiced in their chapter and to correlate to the natural very black colors they wear proudly as if they were phantoms. Just like a Blood Angel would more likely display blood in far stronger contrasts due to their relation to it, and the fact the word 'Blood' appears in the chapter name. And an Emperor's Child most likely would attempt to get all right, in pursue of perfection, but might perhaps forget about the message of the work, though the contrast may be perfect." He chuckled softly.

"Lastly. The content. Colors, character positioning, shading, proportions and all those will vary whether you make even a statue, a miniature or a painting. The canvas and even the medium can change depending on the content. After all, how often have anyone of you seen an entire sculpture display of a significant battle? And yet we have seen dozen of paintings of even single fights? Yet, when we imagine heroes to forever remember in the halls of honors it is that we elect statues to respect their legion's dues, not a painting as the color will fade over hundreds and thousands of years, the statue?" He bows respectively, in attempt to make it clear that he only shares his knowledge and interpretation.

Arnock turned and walked directly towards Abaddon and Forrix. He did not flinch, not even in the least, as he planted the banner just in front of them. "It would be an honor to have you both. I am sure we can ensure there to be a new standard to this tournament with guidance such as yours, Lord Abaddon. I must say that your reputation is legend, even among the other Legions, so I am just as surprised as you that they only send two extras." The confidence and pride was still strong in his voice, even in the presence of a legendary warrior such as Abaddon. Again it was not out of disrespect, it was merely because he no longer was his own person, but a representative of his entire Legion.
  7. Caphen had started to reciprocate the salute when the White Scar charged him. Shocked by such a display of savagery and lack of respect Illios atempted to side step the blow arcing down towards him while at the same time flicking his wrist outwards towards the warrior's leg to cut him and perhaps hobble him if able.

After all this was a fight of striking not power so Caphen decided to focus more on just making contact and defending against the blows coming towards him, rather than aiming to kill his opponent with mighty blows.
  8. "Aye, May the Best of us win" Denatus Said as he started spinning the meteor hammer, ofcouse it had to be a veteran, and one properbly very verse with his shield and hammer.
As the salemander did his reselute advance, Denatus Got some momentum Into his weapon, before shifting the arc, the chain spinner over his head twice, before he let it fly in a wife arc, one hand let go of the chain, as he gave the weapon more reach, grapping a lower part with both hands, as he tried to add more power to the swing aiming to get around the shield, even if he tried to block it, the flexibilty of the weapon would be good against a shield.

Isaiah glanced up at the mob as he entered, and quickly set his eyes on the Paladin again. He had no personal experience with the First, but as with any other Legion, he had no doubt that they too had a martial tradition that would make this man a dangerous opponent. Especially as he bore a title. The younger Job chuckled. His first opponent bore a knightly title, while he was merely a Tactical Marine. This was a splendid opportunity to prove the superiority of the III Legion. And, of course, his own perfection of the martial arts.

Widening his stance and grasping his spear with one hand at the pommel and the other near the middle, he kept the speartip pointed at this Dark Angel's throat, and waited for him to make a move so that he could play out his superior reach - countering, and moving backwards, punishing every offensive and every mistake, that was his intention.

The appearance of the Ezekyle Abaddon initially had Hadrian frozen in place. The First Captain of the Luna Wolves seemed to dominate the section of the gallery, not just because he was in Terminator armour but also because of his will. Not going to risk doing anything stupid Hadrian bowed in what he thought was graceful but more likely came over as awkward.
