Caphen boiled in anger in his own thoughts, he stood next to Isaiah clenching his fists barely able to hold in his anger. "I shall have words with the squad soon." He said to all of them barely to hold in his rage from wounded pride. As he grabbed a power sword from the armory.
Arnock spoke as he thumped the pole of the standard, "I shall not fail, Lord Fulgrim." He then followed the Captain Valerion towards the armoury, ignoring his idol threats. It was as he was a child, storming around because he did not get his way. Perhaps this is why Valerion had as little respect from Arnock as Caphen did. It was something that would address itself in time, hopefully. He pushed away the current thoughts and replaced them with what was in front of him. It was fairly obvious that a member of the 3rd Legion would quickly pick up a power sword. He also grabbed a bolter to deal with enemies at a range. After he finished taking up his new weapons, he placed the bolter on his back and the power sword on his hip. He then walked back over to where Elijah was bickering with Valerion. He waited for them to finish as he inspected the Standard to ensure it looked perfect. OOC visual aid:
Golden Eagle Hadrian listened to Valarion's words, dismissing them as soon as they were said. Personally he believed that he'd done no wrong, being part of the reason Rylanor was still alive, and Valarion's threats were hollow for the most part. Entering the expansive armoury Hadrian's eyes lit up with avarice, especially upon learning that the squad could pick out their own equipment. Heading over to the Techmarine the Assault Marine noticed a one-handed axe, the two blades it featured seemingly wickedly sharp even before the weapon's disruption field was activated. Taking the weapon, after getting approval from the Techmarine, Hadrian moved away from the others, giving the axe a few tentative swings. He'd also have to train with it on his bike.
Theo listened to the there primarch Fulgrim bowing as he saw there perfect gene father, listening to him as they went, Soon after he left he heard Valarion's words of threatening to have them flayed and killed for there actions and pinning what happened to Rylanor on them. Theo had done all he could to save him. As he heard Elijah speak out against the captain he felt a bit of worry for the older Job, If the Captain would do something to make his fate worse then it could be. No he couldn't not after the speech Fulgrim had given about command earning respect from there warriors. As they entered the armory a tech marine seem to look to him. "Theo your pauldron was destroyed again?" his tech brother asked before sighing. "Apothecary turn around I must install something new to your pack should help aid you in your support duties." Theo complied as he did a servo Arm and the Tech marines had began to work. "Got this fresh shipment of these a while ago, some of the wolves tend to use them I hear. Should free up your hands while your working and keep you in the fight brother to fire it your helmet or your gauntlet will have controls that will command it to fire put it to good use." The tech marine said. As he installed the grenade. Theo smiled and thanked there tech marine as he had it installed shaking his hand after. "Could I requisition some grenades with my launcher experimental ones Tech brother?" Theo asked the marine looking for him for a moment before realizing. "Yes, I have authorized your request to test them out when we reach our next mission. The acids and posions in those grenades are pretty lethal, May have to look into making something for the destroyers while your at it." The tech marine said as he went back to keeping stock on the armory, Theo then requisition his kit from what had since last mission taking pride in the weapons that had served him well. Heading back to to the apothcarion for the samples he had taken on the last deployment a idea came to mind, heading to some of the lizards skin he had acquired he decide to make some of it into a cloth like wrap that could be used to show the actions and kills he had gained against this xeno species. Making a Kill cloth that would be similar to one a titan used and displace hanging from there torso. heading back after requisition his medical supplies and fresh vials for his narthicanum, Theo rejoined his squad after his time in the apothcarion.
In the wake of their magnificent lord's presence Davian had been quietly awed by the whole thing, and a good deal relieved despite their Captain's ire. Fulgrim hadn't seen it fit to strike them down where they stood and heavy weapons trooper didn't feel too bad about disregarding the lesser being's opinion when their perfect Father had spared them. Still Davian's mind was restless and until heavy bolter was in hand again he just felt incomplete. So it was at the armory that Emperor's Child reunited with familiar war companion. Several things had changed about the weapon as instead of familiar cold, standard stock grip its hand holds were now cushioned with the treated scale leather of the Carnosaur adding a dash of dull color to the weapon and marking it out as just a smidge more unique. Still no name adorned the weapon despite Davian's desire such would be, yet he knew better than to pointlessly indulge until they both had worthy kills under their belt and casing to warrant such treatment.
Isaiah did not know how to feel after he and his brothers were left with a threat by their dreadful Captain. There was indignation, of course, and the desire to tell the man just how much of a contradiction his words were to their Primarch's – and, of course, the words of Lord Fulgrim always took precedence over those of a Captain, even if it had not been the one person he despised the most. But he could not help but agree with his Primarch – all of their recent victories had been mixed, or even pyrrhic – and their actions towards the xenos had of course been in violation of the usual protocol. This was not to say that Isaiah would not stand by his decision to support Caphen, but he knew that he should have expected a stern talking to at the very least. The younger Job followed Valerion in the armoury, and like his brethren, laid eyes upon the racks upon racks of arms inside. He could not help but nod to himself, and making a note to pay his respects to the Techmarines of their Legion for their masterful work with these weapons. While not all of them were extremely ornate, every last one of these arms bore a deadly elegance to them that no man could deny, and the warriors of the Third appreciated. The silver-haired Astartes' eyes eventually settled on one of these melee weapons that just seemed to speak to him. It was a long spear, simple in appearance and obviously made for use with both hands. The polearm cousin's haft had been fashioned from what appeared to be a simple, matte black and rigid material, its pommel a golden ring. Terminating in a long, leaf-shaped head of silvery metal, a power field generator attached to its base, this spear quickly found its way into the hands of Isaiah Job, who quickly satisfied the desire to mark it as his by tearing the leather-bound lizardmen teeth necklace off himself and bind it to the arm's head, weaving it through the cable of the power field generator to prevent it being torn off at the first strike. Giving the weapon a few tentative twirls, he joined Caphen, standing by his side in a symbolic gesture of support.
Denatus could see where the captain came from, with the lettet xenos live, and the near death of Ryllanor, he held nothing against his burning wrath, he had been humiliated too before Lord Fulgrim. But letting it pass as they Got their chance to grap their weapons, Denatus did not miss the chance to get the final weapon in a destroyers loadout, the Volkite serpenta, This pistol packed deadly force, and he was sure some of his more holdbackish brothers would Like him to have more sidearms than phosphex
<Armory, Pride of the Emperor> @matt23 @EvicusDasan1 @DeranVendar @Grall_Stonefist @Avenging-Angel @Uriel1339 @Vulpas @Casavay "So you suggest I should laud you for your great exploits?" Valerion replied, unmoved by Elijah's tone. "You forget that as of yet, you haven't accomplished anything worthy of mention in the annals of our Company and it's not like you haven't had the chance. No, you also forget that you were given a great honor of spearheading the assault on the Ork fort during your very first deployment while the rest of your company, alongside me and other veterans, protected your back so you don't get flanked or overrun. Instead of doing what every other power hungry prideful Astartes would do and take the front by myself, I actually let your squad lead the way into the Greenskins and what did I get in return for that offered trust? You insult me and dare to talk back?" "You had your chance at accomplishing the task then and you blew it. And then what happened? Instead of properly punishing you by separating you into various other squads, we awarded you with another chance of showing us that we were at fault, by Fulgrim, we even sent ancient Rylanor and the old standard with you, who by the way is still alive but nobody of you asked what was his condition or what the hell even happened to him, that's how much you respect our Champion. And finally, you once again failed, not because you tried to parley but because you showed mercy to two dangerous eldar Xenos who, if the tables were turned, would have no problem killing hundred of human children just to save one of their own and even laugh while doing so!" "Both Lord Fulgrim and Lord Commander Vespasian are noble warriors with a kind spirit, they don't believe severe punishment is the way to overcome insubordination, however like you, I too have been debriefed because of this incident and I received certain orders. Like I said, if it was up to only me or if your Lord Commander was Eidolon, we wouldn't be having this pleasant conversation. Alas, things went the other way but only for a moment. Just know that your next deployment will decide your fate. If you again fail and show weakness, trust me that Fulgrim himself won't be merciful much longer." Ending that discussion, Captain Valerion picked up his axe and slung it across his back while holstering plasma pistol at his belt before turning to once again address everyone. "You are free to do whatever you wish while we are in Ullanor system, but I don't expect for it to last more than a week or so. Every Astartes is free to move between the ships and I suggest you try and study other legions to learn more about our different brothers. There are also couple of events that might interest you, but if you want to know more you have to check them for yourself." I - Arena action (duh): "Lord Angron of the World Eaters is organizing a number of tournaments on his flagship, the "Conqueror" and they sent out calls to every Astartes who thinks he has what it takes to come and join them there in order to prove his worth against similar-minded warriors. I heard it's quite bloody and there are rumors that even couple of deaths occurred during the "festivities", but I guess more warlike of your squad should find themselves at home there and also, a representative from the Emperor's Children who beats up warriors from the other legions is surely to bring great honor to us." II - Philosophy night: "To those of you who are more interested in higher mysteries or ancient philosophy, there is a gathering on "Photep", a flagship of the Thousand Sons legion where they will discuss various things including something that has been brewing for a long time about usage of warriors they call "Librarians" in our legions...It's all quite shady if you ask me, but if you'd like to know more go there and see it for yourself." III - Art exhibition: "In case you don't want to stray too far away from your brothers, there will be an art exhibition aboard this very ship. Various artists arrived from Terra to travel with us in our future deployments in order to capture images of our battles, deeds and exploits so other citizens of the Imperium might know its heroes. This exhibition is only the first one of many to commemorate the arrival of these so-called remembrancers by showing us sculptures of various primarchs and other things." IV - Team-based action: "Finally, I heard of another event but that one might prove to be too difficult for your cracking squad. Captain Lucretius Corvo aboard Ultramarines flagship "Macragge's Honor" is organizing a squad-based combat to, how he said, prove which legion has the most disciplined soldiers and the most effective combat style. They've set up some sort of improvised battlefield and are running different scenarios. So far, Captain Corvo's team has yet to lose - they defeated teams from both Word Bearers and Salamanders, while also taking out couple of rag-tag teams of marines from various different legions. So if you are feeling like it, you should check that out to see how you fare against a well-drilled squad and if you don't have the required number of warriors, I'm sure you'll find some volunteers on Ultramarines's ship who will join you." OOC Just a small edit - I forgot to mention, if you want to you can go to I or IV option and only observe, no need to take a part in it if you don't wish so!
Elijah only could chuckle to himself. Arrogant, whiney little bastard. He was worse than Isaiah on his 7th birthday. The tall Astartes just shook his head and put his helmet on to hide his acid-ruined face, having left only his silver-blonde hair on the top of his head. He simply picked up his Missile Launcher, Bolt Pistol, Knife and so on, standard gear. Yet he was still curious to try Korda's gift out in the shape of his legs, but then again he would not waste it in sparring with fellow Astartes. He walked up to Isaiah (@Casavay ) and Caphen (@EvicusDasan1 ). "I suggest you two go into the Arena, you are good swordsmen. We are not ready for the Squad action as our cohesion lacks and we would only make fools of ourselves with Denatus among us. I myself will go and have philosophy among the Thousand Sons. After all this war and fools like Valerion, I need someone with an actual intellect to converse with. Someone who can look beyond themselves." The Devastator bowed to the both of them and made for his way. OOC: Heading to Photep.
As Elijah once again showed himself the adult he was, Denatus just laughed out," being called idot by the suicidal xeno lover, thats a new one" he said as soon as his laugh ended. That he both publicly denounced Velorian, and had the arrogance to Belive himself a greater mind, simply laugheble, " i think most of us should go to the arena, im sure thats where we Can learn the most given the Martial prise of our farthers brothers, and the Champions among the legions," Denatus said, as he turned to walk away, perhaps he would join Into the fight, surely the World Earters had some interesting gladiatorial matches
