X-077 @EvicusDasan1 | "You are to let the xenos-breed escape? That is against the principles of the Crusade!" Hadrian had listened to his brothers debate the fate of the two eldar with some concern. The Emperor Himself had commanded the Great Crusade to wipe the alien menace from the galaxy and there was no higher power than the Emperor. Especially not a acting sergeant.
@Avenging-Angel | Quietly letting the situation and the words that were spoken pass, Isaiah enjoyed breathing unfiltered air, alien as the stenches inhabiting it may have been. His faked calm, however, was broken by his Brother Hadrian's accusations - a justified criticism that caused him to move between the sergeant and his fellow Marine. "The Sergeant decided not to pursue and slay them, Brother", he spoke with aggravation in his voice, "Accept this for now and spare your breath for when we are off this dull, primitive world, and within our own spheres of influence once more. So that your words may incite a just hearing, and not just belligerence."
<Inside > Outside> @matt23 @EvicusDasan1 @DeranVendar @Grall_Stonefist @Avenging-Angel @Uriel1339 @Vulpas @Casavay Ignoring the threats, the eldar Farseer nodded in thanks. "Thank you. You have shown much greater wisdom then I though you would. So long, children of the Phoenix," she said and at the same time the oval structure she and the eldar kid were standing at flashed with life. Some kind of a portal opened around it blazing with faint blue lighting and Analea took the child's hand and slowly walked through it. They disappeared in mere moments and as they left the room, the portal closed behind them, leaving the Emperor's Children all alone, their mission complete. Once they went outside the tower and back into the open top floor of the ziggurat, they saw Iron Father and his men standing guard over the wounded while two Stormbirds could also be seen coming from the south. "What happened in there?" Korda asked, "The signal went silent and I detect no movement inside whatsoever? What happened to the aliens?"
Elijah forced himself up, not caring whether his bionic legs could hold his massive form or not. He flanked Iron Father Korda almost as if he belonged to the Iron Hands rather than the Emperor's Children. His eyes rested on Isaiah and he smiled soft, grateful to see him well. Which is why he stood up in the first place, to show his younger self that he was fine as well. Even though it may or may not be a pathetic display, his pride would have to keep him on the legs.
X-077 Korda was an Iron Hand, not of the III Legion, and so Hadrian kept his silence when the Iron Father spoke, deciding to not let Korda that there might be division among the Emperor's Children.
"The signal was some sort of psychic prescence...that prescence is no longer among us if you understand me Iron Father." Caphen said knowing that the Iron Hand would not understand why he made the decision he did. He turned his thoughts away from the matter. He knew the less reliable of his squad would bring accusations to bear when they left this planet and prepared to deal with that instead.
<Ruins - Conclusion> @matt23 @EvicusDasan1 @DeranVendar @Grall_Stonefist @Avenging-Angel @Uriel1339 @Vulpas @Casavay "Hmf," Iron Father grunted and turned away, not satisfied with the answer given. But it mattered little now as two Stormbirds touched down and a combination of human soldiers and mechanized servants disembarked in order to secure the area and help with transport of the wounded. Eventually, all of their assets were loaded up and this rainy jungle planet was left for good. Once back aboard the Iron Hands cruiser "Indestructible", every member of the Emperor's Children force received medical attention while Rylanor, who was the most severe wounded of all, was placed in a healing capsule under the eye of Korda, who helped with his healing by providing his extensive knowledge of both bionics and Astartes biology. The rest who needed such things received their artificial limb replacements and their gear and armor was also repaired, courtesy of local artisans. In any case, Iron Hands proved to be quite hospitable and everything the warriors from the 6th desired, they got it. Soon after, the cruiser broke into Warp, the course set for Ullanor system... And the intermission phase begins anew... <One week later - Ullanor system. Aboard "Pride of the Emperor", flagship of the III Legion> @matt23 @EvicusDasan1 @DeranVendar @Grall_Stonefist @Avenging-Angel @Uriel1339 @Vulpas @Casavay "I'd like to hear what happened on the planet X077 again, if you please," Lord Commander Vespasian asked, despite framing it like a question it was clearly an order. All members of the 6th squad stood arranged in front of a table in one of many meeting chambers aboard the flagship. In front of them sat their Lord Commander alongside their Captain of the 19th Company Mano Valerion and Chaplain Charmosian, both of them standing back and glaring at the warriors in front of them. The moment "Indestructible" arrived in the system they saw a great gathering of the Imperial might. Members of every legion were there and the first rumor they heard was that the Emperor was here as well, and that he announced prior to their arrival that he will be withdrawing from the Great Crusade in order to do some important business back on Terra and that the lead of His forces was given to Horus, who became their new Warmaster. However all of that had to be put aside because once they were transported back from the Iron Hands ship to the Emperor's Children fleet, they were immediately summoned to "Pride of the Emperor" for debriefing. It was perhaps unusual for such thing to occur but since during the mission they lost half of their men, their Sergeant Callus and the near-death state in which Champion Rylanor was now, not to mention the reason from their first deployment that got them this mission in the first place, called for more thorough inspection. Which is why they now found themselves staring at heroic figure of Vespasian, perhaps the most noble warrior of the entire III Legion, who despite his usual friendly look, this time seemed quite angry. "And please, try not to leave anything out of it."
Elijah stood tall before their Lord Commander like everyone else and he looked at Isaiah (@Casavay ), giving him a strong look of 'let the Sergeant talk and only respond if directly asked'. And if things would hit the bad side, he would defend Caphen with his entire intellect and decisiveness. He trusted the man, he saw him fight, and he led them to 'victory' when all of the chain of command was destroyed. They prevailed with minimal losses when all appeared to be lost. The truth would be delivered, and perhaps even punishment gained for letting the Xeno flee. But what mattered far more in this situation, what they had to prove as Emperor's Children and as members of the 6th squad, was unison. To stand together, or fall divided.
Arnock planted the banner at his side and awaited the squad leader to speak. It was his job after all to give the information that Captain was looking for. However, Arnock would ensure -nothing- was left unreported, especially what happened toward the end of the mission.
