<Ruins - Eldar gambit> @DeranVendar @Uriel1339 @Avenging-Angel @Vulpas @Grall_Stonefist @EvicusDasan1 @Casavay @matt23 OOC sorry for the last post, it had lots of errors and overall was of lower quality, so I'll try to make up for it now! Da'hirl Swiftwind never managed to reach the inside of the tower, showing that his nickname was perhaps given badly. A number of Kabalite warriors aimed to reach the tower's entrance as well and seeing that the eldar ranger leader thought of doing the same, they unleashed fire and riddled the already wounded alien with sharp discs, killing him on spot. They also saw Denatus trying to place an explosive on the door and responded in kind, opening fire on the Destroyer and preventing his aim to be true, the phosphex bomb falling short and dropping somewhere in the middle of the floor. Since the Archon also tried to make his way inside, he saw what happened and stood in Denatus's way, preventing him from reaching his brothers. "The thing in your hand," the pale-skinned eldar pointed at the detonator, once again speaking in perfect gothic, "Hand it over please?" Caphen managed to score a kill on one of the Striking Scorpions but his action drew attention of one of the Incubi warriors, as the Sergeant effectively "stole" his kill. Angrily, the alien dashed after Caphen and swung its long blade after him. The marine felt as his armor was sliced under the blow, his own speed lacking due to his injuries. The cut caught him under his ribs and went down to his hip, making him stagger and bleeding, thus unable to reach the banner in time. It would probably be even worse for the freshly-promoted Sergeant if not for his brother Davian, who saw the danger and unleashed a salvo of bolts at the attacking alien, his precise firing ripped the Incubus apart. His grenade also flew towards them and one of the Incubi launched to meet it in midair by slapping it to the side, however the moment it connected with the alien's klaive it stuck and blew up, taking the dark eldar with it. The death of their comrades made another of the aliens look towards the Devastator, right after it was finished slaying one of the last remaining Striking Scorpions and it jumped at him. Klaive went for Davian's neck but managed to evade the decapitating blow, however the alien used the momentum and brought the weapon downwards, catching him in the chest right next to his shoulder pad and taking a piece of armor with it. Thankfully, Arnock, Elijah and Isaiah managed to reach the banner in time but the one who actually caught it was none other than Arnock. At the same time, Theo and Hadrian found Rylanor's stricken form, the Apothecary began immediately administering the healing stimulants and thankfully, despite the wounds he saw that the Champion was still alive. Hadrian stood guard at their side, but none of the Incubi on the ground made an attempt to get to them. However the three remaining craft still hovered above the ground and on command, they opened fire from afar, the remaining aliens aboard them scoring hits on each of them, although somewhere with more success but thankfully, Rylanor was kept from further wounding by his fellow Emperor's Children. It looked quite bad for everyone at that moment but finally, their support arrived. One of the Raiders was rocked as a number of missiles hit its side, forcing it to try and evade however the pilot was unable to do much and the craft was sent flying into the jungle. At the bottom of the ziggurat, a huge form with whirling mechandrites and a giant axe took a step on the stairs, his metallic voice amplified ten times by his helmet's unit. "YOU TRIED TO STOP US XENOS! BUT IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!" Iron Father Korda shouted and behind him came ten Iron Hands, looking battered but still alive (OOC they started off with 16 men). "STAND STRONG COMRADES! NOW WE GOT EM! FOR THE EMPEROR! FLESH IS WEAK!" he exclaimed and led his men up the stairs, shooting at the flying crafts as they ran. OOC: Enemy force - Eldar: - All of them are at the moment inside the tower. New Enemy force - Dark Eldar: - 1 Raiders - 1 Ravager - 15 Kabalite Warriors - 4 Incubi (Elites) - Archon leader (Boss 35 HP) - (10 Wyches (veterans) inside the tower) Friendly forces: Iron Hands Reinforcements: - 10 Iron Hands - Iron Father Korda: 30 HP @matt23 Alright you now caught the banner and you cannot drop it any more unless you die or you suffer severe wounds. As a result, +1 for all of you is once again in action however you cannot use both pistol and melee weapon at the same time, when you want to attack you'll have to chose either ranged or melee attack as long as the banner is up. "Brother-Sergeant! " Unwilling to let another one of their leaders fall, even if it seemed a temporary and perhaps ill appointment in his eyes, Davian snarled at the xeno attempting to slay Caphen and riddled Incubi with enough kraken rounds to cast scattered bits and bloody gubbins of it across the floor for several meters. As krak went off somewhere out of his line of sight he began lurching toward the warrior looking to stand guard over his form only to be intercepted by another of the Archon's guards. A klaive came whipping around for neck but Davian dropped to a knee, sliding beneath it on armored feet before being toppled by a downward stroke that shaved off a pauldron and part of his earlier trophy skin. "Away with you cur!" Rolling onto his back he props himself up and lets loose with standard bolts looking to topple the Incubi and spray a fan of fist sized rounds into any combatants that try to close with himself or Caphen. As another enemy craft was knocked from the sky Davian grinned broadly watching the mechanical monstrosity that was Korda emerge through archway. "Welcome sons of the Gorgon! About damn time! " Watching things start to shift in their favor and that their banner still stood, it was all an inspiring sight and the warrior kept his weapon steadier for it. OOC: Heavy Boltering at Incubi, any other hits direct toward enemies attempting to attack Caphen or Davian as appropriate. Edit: Totally forgot to react to the Iron Hands like a ding bat.
Seing that he dident have much in the way of fighting the Eldar leader infront of him, and that the neusance of his guards weapons fire dident allow much free movement, and to top it all off, his bomb haddent gorne where it was supposed to. Lifting the small detonator up to his chest, a fool would have streched out his arm for this small speech to buy time, but these Eldar where fast, and he wouldent risk it, and he wouldent need too much with the arival of the ironhands. He looked at the archoen through his helmeted lenses. "I can detonate this bomb before you or any fo your warriors could strike me down, and just a small fact about phospex, its atracted to movement, so no matter how fast you run, it will get you, and this bomb holds alot of phosphex, and both you, i and a portion of that tower is in the blast radius" Denatus said, then a thought flew through his mind, one that also made him belive that perhaps there had been a gene-seed mixup or something, allmost none of his brothersshared some of his insentives. As he was sure the Archeon would leap forth and attempt to cut off his arm to take his detonator, Denatus just frooze in place, phosphex would hurt all it tuched, eating flesh and setting armour ablaze, but hell, where was the fun in staying safe, he thought as he depressed the detonator, with a bit of luck it not reach his brothers. Ooc: dunno why, but it just feels right.
Arnock raised the banner back up high, over his head. The banner itself seemed to jolt electricity throughout his entire body. The weight of the banner now fell to him and he could not fail. He raised his bolter pistol and opened fire on the Archon leader as he yelled, "Show these abominations the meaning of perfection! Show them the might of Fulgrim's sons!"
Spitting up blood inside his own sealed environment Caphen grunted. "Thank you brother." He said to Davian who had perhaps saved his life. Seeing the new reinforcements Caphen gained a second wind. "Iron Father Korda! Let us rid the world of these foul xenos!" Looking around to find his squad Caphen took in the situation and calculated. "Form up around the Standard brothers! For Fulgrim! For The Emperor! Death to their foes!" With his order given Caphen voxed Theo. "Brother apothecary, stay by Rylanor's side. Do not let him fall from this world." Following his own order Illios ran towards Arnock, perhaps the brother he considered closest to and drew his sword, the extension of his very being. "Let them come brother... we shall end them here!" The Chemosian astartes said to Arnock feeling invigorated by the pride of their Legion.
"YOU FOOL!" Elijah roared on the top of his lungs, running up to the Destroyer to grab the bomb and throw it as far away from his brothers as he could, he cared little if it would do no harm at all. He would either manage to do that, or they would all die anyway. The only difference was that there was a chance of survival. What was this idiot thinking!? Being even more impatient, rash and drastic than his own younger twin. There was not even time to celebrate the arrival of the Iron Hands. "EVERYONE ELSE, GET OUT OF HERE!" He attempted to warn the remaining of his squad. Theo looked up with a smile as he heard one of the Xenos vehicles destroyed and the voice of the Iron father leading his men towards there position. But his face went to that of horror when he heard Elijah and his orders from Caphen. "I NEED TO MOVE RYLANOR OUT OF RANGE, ELIJAH GET OUT OF THERE YOUR GETTING TO CLOSE!" Theo shouted as he began moving Rylanor out of range of the blast and into cover he grunted as several shots found there mark on his right pauldron blasting it off.
Isaiah smiled in satisfaction and pride as he saw the banner flying high again, held by a proud warrior of the Third. His smile turned to a grin when he saw the Iron Hands approach - yes, he was vexed the appearance of another Legion was needed to aid them, but in the end, it was their sworn and, yes, beloved allies of the Tenth, and also fellow Space Marines against an alien foe. His grin vanished the instant he saw his First among Brothers run for the phosphex bomb. Worried and angry, he cried after his older twin: "Elijah! Get out of there you fool! You will doom us all!" while drawing his bolter and aiming at the aliens with the huge swords, and consciously forcing himself to move away from the crazy Destroyer marine, his prime brother, and the horrible weapon. He fired at his chosen foes, but could not help but feel half his mind with Elijah - he could bear seeing him die, but having him die by friendly fire, and to such a horrible alchemy as phosphex was a cruelty upon his heart. X-077 Continuing to stand over Rylanor and Theo, Hadrian held his chainsword at the ready, even if none of the enemy infantry approached. Weathering the shots directed at him by the alien craft and their crews, cursing as pieces of his armour received varying degrees of damage, the Astartes glowered up at the xenos. Thus he was in a position to let out a joyful cry when the Iron Hands appeared, partially irritated that they had taken so long but partially relieved that they had been able to turn up at all.

As much as the Archon was quick and agile, Denatus was still a space marine and there was no way the pale-skinned eldar leader could stop the detonation in time, nor could Elijah do it with his mad dash towards the bomb. Phosphex went off and immediately the majority of top floor was covered in acidic poison that first went for those Kabalite warriors unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast radius. Their armor and flesh burned from the inside and they fell on their knees, their bodies burned husks in mere moments. Elijah was also caught and he felt his flesh cook inside as his armor melted on every joint, fusing together and preventing him from moving, which is what perhaps saved his life. In fact, his move actually saved most of the team as he caught the majority of the toxin, while only lesser part went for the Destroyer and the alien leader close to him. Archon growled as the virus came and the ancient systems within his armor formed some sort of a shield in order to prevent the most damage but despite it, parts of his skin melted away and he spat blood. "Well now, that wasn't really nice of you ape. Now you will feel pain for what you've done!" Slashing at Denatus, he cut his arm holding the detonator at the elbow, but since the damage was done the wound was caused more in spite than anything else. Another slash came and opened Denatus's stomach, making him fall on the ground. However then a couple of bolts impacted on his armor and Archon pounced away, seeing Arnock as the perpetrator and pulling out his own pistol in response. Couple of blasts of superheated energy pierced through Assault Marine's chest, creating new holes in it and making him stagger, but despite it he still stood strong, not letting go of the banner. More of the Incubi came at them, however now that the rest of the 6th squad under Caphen's lead was pretty much gathered around their standard, the aliens had a harder time of reaching them especially with all of them firing in return. Two more aliens fell to combined fire of Davian and Isaiah while Theo and Hadrian stood guard over Rylanor's body as they all took couple of steps back and away from the flesh-eating bomb. At the same time, another Raider exploded, courtesy of Iron Father's missile launcher and with a loud sigh, Archon decided it he had it enough. Calling out something, he and the remaining duo of Incubi fled from the combat and ran for the wall where his personal Ravager touched down to allow them to board it. Now both Iron Hands and Emperor's Children opened fire but they only managed to kill one more alien warrior before the Archon and his lackey jumped on their craft and speed away. "AHH, YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS MON'KEIGH! WE'LL MEET AGAIN!" the pale-skinned eldar shouted as his vessel carried him away from the ziggurat, if there was any of his forces left inside the structure he left them there to die. "Secure the perimeter," Korda ordered as his men reached the 6th squad while he personally stood over Rylanor's body, something akin to grief could be seen on his metallic features. "And wait for the toxin to disperse. Also, somebody go get your two wounded brothers," he pointed at Elijah and Denatus while turning over to Theo. "Tell me Apothecary. Will Rylanor live?" OOC: Okay, somebody go and help Elijah and Denatus and drag them over to where the others are standing. We'll wait for the phosphex to disperse - aka one post from me - and when I do my next one, you'll be able to enter the tower and inspect the situation there for yourself.
