Theo made note of the devastators in there squad. They needed to keep the xenos with the blades away from them if they were to aid them in combat. OOC I have a question are we inside or outside?
"Strike them down, Elijah! To victory!", shouts Isaiah while shrugging off the wound this weird xeno soldier had inflicted upon him - it hurt, but it was no debilitating injury. Faithful to his newly-appointed sergeant as he was, the purple-clad warrior moved swiftly to join his superior, blade roaring furiously as he lashed out at these green-clad... yes, they might be inferior counterparts among the xenos. Unusual for him, he limited his overextension, fighting defensively and actively seeking to complement Caphen's style instead of fighting as a singular warrior in a mob. "It shall be so!"
<Ruins - Eldar gambit> @DeranVendar @Uriel1339 @Avenging-Angel @Vulpas @Grall_Stonefist @EvicusDasan1 @Casavay @matt23 Like usual, Elijah reacted first to the threat and his stasis missile escaped his launcher, streaking straight towards the incoming Striking Scorpions, more precisely their leader. But the slippery eldar was way too fast for a simple missile to hit him and the Exarch jumped out of the way, most of his squad following his lead however two last warriors weren't so lucky and they were caught in the explosion, for a moment rendered helpless. Davian was right next to his fellow Devastator and seeing the opportunity, he unleashed his own fiery fury and two stunned Striking Scorpions ceased to exist. He managed to kill two more as they ran up the steps but such was the alien speed that they were soon right between them. Exarch was first, somersaulting over the wounded fellow Emperor's Children and in a show of supreme skill, hitting the man straight in the eye socket with a precise snipe from his attached pistol. He landed right next to Elijah and whirled around with his chainsword, catching the Devastator on his head and slicing half of his helmet apart alongside with a better part of his left cheek, making Elijah stumble. Following that slash, Exarch twisted towards Davian and before he could react, a blaze of red fire escaped eldar's helmet and hit Davian straight in chest. Before he knew it he was on his knees and his armor rendered useless while two new holes could be seen on either side of his muscles - one of his lungs completely obliterated. But before the Exarch could do more damage Rylanor was there, slashing with his own sword and forcing the alien to go on the defense. However at the same time the remaining Striking Scorpions closed the distance and a fierce melee followed. On the other side, one of the rangers on the wall fell from it as the incendiary grenade burned him to bits, courtesy of Davian. It allowed Arnock to brace and fire couple of shots at the sneaky eldar, felling one more with his precise firing before they retaliated, couple of shots clanged against his armor and he had to duck so they didn't score a headshot. Thankfully for him Theo was there and his quick ministration allowed the Assault Marine to return to the combat with renewed vigor. As for the Apothecary, no Striking Scorpion came at him however two rangers took bead on him and two rounds hit his armor, although only one pierced it right below his shoulder guard making his arm sting. Hadrian stormed after the Striking Scorpion but soon realized it was a bad decision since he somewhat stayed away from his brothers, even though they were only 5-6 meters away, the pesky eldar knew how to take advantage of that. Two Dire Avengers, after escorting their Farseer to the tower remained outside and opened fire on Hadrian with their shuriken rifles, scoring a number of hits across his form, him feeling myriad of sharp disks punching through his flesh. However their greed was their undoing as the toxin inside phosphex grenade still lingered around and it caught the scent of two eldar, their movement attracting it and Assault Marine saw as their armor and flesh suddenly started to melt and they screamed as they were basically cooked alive. But he had something else to worry about as the Striking Scorpion returned and tried to slash at his groin, only to miss by an inch and overextend himself. (OOC you can kill this striking scorpion with your next post). Isaiah reached Caphen's side just in time to see one of the Scorpions managing to sail past Sergeant's guard and bury his chainsword deep into his shoulder, effectively severing tendrils that were responsible for the functioning of Caphen's left arm. He growled and struck back, a powerful blow that surprised the alien right before it cut its head apart (OOC you can kill 1 more Scorpion with your next post). More of them came at them and Isaiah had to fight with two at the same time. He suffered a number of cuts and bruises alongside his forearms before he managed to slice one of them in half, claiming his first eldar kill in his life. (OOC you can kill two more Striking Scorpions with your next post). Lastly, Denatus tried with all his skill to score a hit on the quick eldar ranger and nearly succeeded in doing so. Since bolt ammunition exploded on impact, as Da'hirl dodged around few of the shots impacted on the wall behind him and showered him with sparks, making the alien grunt in pain. "Now I see it was a mistake that I brought you here before the Farseer. You are after all, just a simple backwater savage, a murderous dog unfit for living. I will do you a service and put you to rest!" Jumping from the wall, Da'hirl dropped his long rifle and pulled out his thin power blade as he came at the Destroyer. Being in his somewhat cumbersome armor (when it came to eldar standards), Denatus was unable to dodge the incoming blow and he felt couple of sharp stings as the blade bit his flesh on both his leg and chest, pushing him back while the ranger seemed unable to stop with the attack as he just kept on coming. And then a strange sound was heard on the horizon to the south, all combatants looked to the skies for a moment. Elijah's wish that Iron Hands perhaps arrived to support them was shattered as four sleek dark crafts came flying towards them, their angles sharp and unnatural, while flying over the ground they looked like some ancient terran sharks. Eldar around them cried out at the sight of these newcomers and couple of moments later it became somewhat apparent why they did so. These crafts were filled with equally sleek warriors carrying dark and bladed armor complemented with myriad of nasty-looking alien weapons. Those who went without helmets sneered at the sight below them as these four crafts came to circle around the temple and it became clear that these newcomers were also of eldar origin, although they looked much more sinister and...pretty much evil. Seconds later they opened fire from various weapons aboard their flying vessels and a number of rangers was shot down from the walls before the rest jumped down hurriedly. This firing seemed to be quite precise and sporadic, these newcomers looking as if toying with those below them and not really committing to the battle, at the moment satisfied with simply observing the proceedings. Elijah's eyes widened as he believed to look death into the face. Almost seeing everything happening in slow-motion while himself incapable of moving at all. From the moment that leader-alien escaped his missile, over killing his brother and even the moment the sword connected with his face and rendering his helmet basically useless. Why he was left alive, he did not know. But he would not waste his life! Throwing off the helmet in it's entirety, the Devastator holstered his Missile Launcher over his shoulder and drew Bolt Pistol and Combat Knife. 'Time to do it Isaiah's way. Killing the rangers Caphen ordered. Well the rangers were not the problem, definitely not.' He thought to himself as he ran after the Exarch in attempt to stab (Knife) and shoot him (Bolt Pistol), having loaded Dragonfire ammunition in his pistol before having started to move. Breathless could not properly describe Davian's state, both before and after having his lung surgically removed by a xenos laser weaponry. Dropping onto his back heavy bolter never left his grip even as the stunned Marine laid there looking just about dead for a time even as further battle unraveled around his prone form. It worked in his favor at least making less of a target and allowing him to catch much needed breath. Dark shapes had begun to glide in from above when Davian was at last ready to re-join the fight. As fire lanced down from hovering anti-grav vessels Emperor's Child studied their enemies vehicles and their armor. Anything meant to fly by means of grav-plate technology couldn't afford to be loaded up with heavy plates and it was with an almost negligent hand he braced his weapon against the ground and anchored it between both knees. A single thought based command later and suddenly like a stream of emergency flares angry red spears of Kraken rounds were soaring upward as Devastator snarled, attempting to drop their enemies vehicles down to ground level and perhaps crush a few of these accursed xenos in the process. Whatever Caphen's previous orders were had been entirely forgotten in momentary dance upon deaths edge, he could only hope their Apothecary was watching. X-077 Inwardly laughing at the eldars' stupidity as they died but also groaning slightly because of the projectiles the xenos had shot at him Hadrian turned to glare at his current nemesis. Lashing out just as the eldar did the Marine was able to trap the xenos' blade with his chainsword, stepping up to the alien and calmly shooting it in the head. The arrival of the new aliens, more blasted eldar by the looks of it, got Hadrian's attention as the Striking Scorpion expired. With a carefully-controled burst from his jump-pack he rocketed upwards, attempting to reach the circling craft and get a look at their numbers. [No fighting in this post, just an attempt to gather intel.]
Theo readied his chain sword and bolt pistol readying himself for combat before spotting Davian's life rune turn red, Suddenly spotting the new craft coming in and now spotting the likely enemy that the first xenos were talking about. "You know, I don't really think this situation could get any worse." Theo said as he charged forward heading to Davian's position already readying a dose of regenerative and aid coming his way as he charged forward to aid his brother. As he reached hit he felt two shots slam into his pauldron clipping under his right shoulder. Ignoring as the pain and the possibility of being snipe he went to work on Davian his armor giving him some information of the wound and of the damage to his internals he began his work. "Going to try to keep your damage from bursting completely, It may be hard to breath with that lung and you will have to use just your other two for now until I can get you to the ship and begin repair on the damaged lung with more delicate tools." Theo said as he worked injecting the regenerative first and then a adhesive to keep patch his long. Theo worked concentrating on repairing the damage to the out tissue of Davian and then applying repair cement to cover the damage to his armor to prevent the wound from infection or damage to anymore of these aliens weapons.
Caphen had lost use of his left arm for now and so dropped his bolt pistol. Now wielding only the blade that showed his new position he faced the next eldar he could see. Cautiously he approached feigning debilitation and lack of prowess he managed to lure the fool inside his guard as it charged towards him ready to kill Caphen he simply sidestepped and twirled around in a fluid motion allowing him to severe the xenos' leg. It howled in pain as it rolled onto its back the last thing it would ever see was a sword streaking towards its head. Knowing full well the other eldar would not make the same mistake their brother just did Caphen readied himself once more for battle. As he hailed the apothecary. "Brother Theo, I am rendered useless in my left arm. I would welcome any assistance you can provide me." Illios grunted with every few words in pain. OOC: still fighting the scorpions. Requesting a heal next round if Theo can do me such a kind service. @Vulpas
Denatus was pressed back, he didn't have any sword or very accountable melee weapon, and his main skills laid not in swordplay. Though in this melee he could not win while towing around his missile launcher, so with a quick apology to the machine spirit, he let it go and drew his combat blade in an attempt to at least get some sort of defense against the Eldar squad leader, he no experience in fighting their kind, but Da'hirl would find that no one simply killed a Arstartes, and especially not one of the sons of Fulgrim.
